Plot Update 10 March 2021

A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

Yo, you've always got me to fall back on. I won't be able to fill the romantic void, but I can Degrassi Effect Auka into fighting on the FN side in interest of complete self-preservation. ((Please excuse 300...))

Yeah, I don't have any new idea as to what we should do about Shuai's characters. I think Ai Lin's plan is the best. So I say we follow that model.

As for the RP. I don't think I'll post as Long Feng until everyone else posts, then again I may get inspired tomorrow or something. I'll get the warden scene set so that Joychi has something to do.

So now, should we plan the riot or are we just going to let it all play out?

It sucks, but it's really all I can think of. Tabletop RPing has gotten me into the habit of accepting characters just fading into the background when their players aren't around and to NPC your way out of a truly tricky situation. It's never the most elegant solution (my friend missed a great opportunity with his character because he missed a session) but it sometimes has to be done. I know it'll be the hardest for Jen and Karanbir to deal with, since Shuai's characters were the closest to her. All I can say is...write around it. You're both creative people and I'm sure you'll be able to work something out that at least lets you move onto the rest of the story.

I'm waiting on Oyushi to post as Salak before I move on again at least as Ai Lin. We need to get Salak, Ai Lin and Zarah into the prison so they can be part of the riot and so that Yoshinori isn't the only antagonist during it.

As for the riot itself, I was more inclined to let it play out as it will, with everyone just keeping in mind that the final result will be the Underground getting away. I tend to keep certain things loose because I tend to see stories as living things that unfold before me. That's personal style of writing more than anything, though. If more people want something really concrete we could work that out too. :)

Wow, it's so sad that Shuai left the site. Looks like real life always takes over, judging by what I've witnessed. As for her characters, letting them fade in the background sounds like the best idea. Maybe we can just pretend something happened to the both of them together (like Michiko took Shuai away for some reason and then... something happened).

The reason why I wanted to post was to make sure I hadn't missed much, as it's been a long time since I was active (but it looks like I did). Since the antagonists need to get to the prison, I must make Joychi wait at least another twenty minutes, right ? I'm asking this to make sure what I can and can't do, based on what you guys will do. Because I realized that the Underground is already in the courtyard, so that's when the riot has to start, which means that's when Joychi must be executed, and when the Underground escapes, but if there are no antagonists to try and stop us... well, it'll be easier, but no fun.

Since Oyushi posted we'll be moving over to the prison pretty much post haste. While the Underground is in the courtyard, we're still hammering out the riot details so everyone's on the same page. We're going to wait for the most opportune moment to cause the ruckus and free Joychi, and in the most dramatic fashion it'll probably happen right before the killing blow is delivered. ;) I can't reply right now (I'm under some deadlines with work), but I'll be able to get to it on Monday.

You could make a post leading yourself out to the courtyard (sort of a long death march kind of thing) and the time leading up, just not the execution event itself yet. Or, if you'd rather do it all in one post alone, you could wait for us to solidify our plan (it would at least not be until Monday in that case). I'm sorry that I can't get to it any faster than that.

Hey everybody o.o Sorry I haven't posted in so long, I would just like you to know that I plan on making it up to you guys D: maybe a group drawing of the resistance :D or something like that... yeah... Once again I am really sorry about the delay :[ just the whole Shuai leaving left me in an odd position and I didn't really know what to do. But now I do :D

That's okay, Karanbir. The holiday season tends to keep everyone pretty busy, and Shuai's quick departure threw a bit of a wrench in things. Don't worry about it.

Since Oyushi gave me permission to NPC Salak when necessary during his vacation, I'll try to keep things moving along. I'll probably be able to post towards the end of the week, just gotta work out all the specifics. :)

I hope you don't mind, but I just posted my part in this whole arc. Now it is up to the other members of the Underground to get the prisoners razzed up about overthrowing their captures.

Sorry Joychi, but Liang had to kick you off the podium, that way you don't die in the explosion. Am I missing anything else, I think not. Hope I didn't ruin it for us.

would it be alright if Raikou got involved? He's a firebender of the Fire Nation. I'm planning on introducing him into the Ba Sing Se thread. At first, it was to escape from the Fire Nation and to sort things out with himself... perhaps start a new life... however, since it's taken over by Fire Nation, I'm going to start him off being 'escorted' by Fire Nation troops. They don't know the premise of why he left the Fire Nation, however, his father wants him back at any cost.

When they reach the prison, they hear the sounds of fighting inside. The guards would realize that it was the Underground group and go for reinforcements (keeping IC). Raikou would go inside towards the fighting trailed by two guards as his 'body guards'. To be honest, that's where things will get interesting. When he's faced with a chance to oppose the Fire Nation or help it, I'm not sure what he'll do... when he gets there, he'll defiantly be ripped apart inside... and that's when he'll have to make a choice. whether that choice will be permanent, I can't say, however, Raikou's a complicated character that would add a lot to this plot I think ^^

*that is, after I either do RP school or get waived from it of course :P*

Ryuzaku, my general policy right now is to hold off on anyone jumping into the RP until after the first mission is finished. With how close we are to getting to the prison, I feel that introducing anyone right at this moment would slow things down. But this is a long term RP, so there will be new missions after this one. The upside is that this'll give you enough time to finish both your characters and have them approved and go through prompt exemptions. :)

Raikou just to let you know that the current story Arc is closed. However, the final say comes from AI Lin, and she may change her mind. I'm not trying to be mean, but posted this to let you know.

that's cool, I posted here to just ask if I could join ^^ if you're too far into your story it's understandable. However, it was because it worked so perfectly with my character's history and what would happen that I asked to join this thread in the first place. I'm very 'events' oriented and if my character isn't put in a position where he might meet this group again, well, he'll probably never meet them XD

Excuse the short post. I don't think I explained it that well. The breakout part is most definitely closed, but the rest of the Underground story has yet to be written so I am sure that when we are done with the breakout you'll be allowed to join.

Yes, sorry for the delay in replying. The Underground story at this point is closed so what Shio said is correct. The break out is happening right now (well, when I get off my rear and post...) and it's just too hard to introduce anyone else into the story.

If the story opens up at any point in the future, I'll make sure to make a post to let everyone know and change the first post to reflect it. Thanks for your interest in joining up, though. :)

I just wanted to give everyone an update. I'm sorry I haven't posted more lately. First it was that I wanted to give people a chance to post before I wrote more, but my slowness is also because of a lasting injury. X-rays revealed that my neck is crooked and has to be shifted back to the middle, so I'm doing intensive work with a doctor to set it right.

Again, I apologize for the lack of posting. I don't want anyone to think I've abandoned the Underground and I hate that I might have slowed anyone down. I'll make sure to make a post this week.

Thanks, Jen. :) I finally got to post. I will probably continue to be sporadic until I'm more on the mend. Unfortunately, a lot of the time when I'm feeling okay has been going towards my work, and that hasn't left me with much feel good time for RPing. On the bright side, it will be getting better and my posting will be more frequent with it.

In the meantime, yay, I finally posted. XD

I doubt that you have been kicked out, Zarah. Any how, the general train of events flows as such:
  • The Underground met in the prison yard, everyone was filled in and then rushed into action
  • Joychi was to be executed as an example of how not to treat Fire Nation hospitality
  • Using Mahone's compound the underground disabled the four guard towers of the prison
  • Long Feng threw a few barrels of blasting jelly at the warden, who was incinerated, and that cued the Underground into riot mode
  • A large number of prisoners escaped the prison, but others are still inside fighting to escape
  • Those Underground members trapped inside are Suki, Mahone(I assume), Yulan (assuming), Shen-zhu, Jen-jiao, Tatsuya and they are up against Salak, Ai Lin, and potentially you
  • Those Underground members who did escape are Long Feng, Shuai, and Joychi. They got to the monorail, loaded the prisoners, and then encountered opposition.
  • The Dai Li showed up, and after a round with them Yoshinori showed up, alone. So now it's three agents and Yoshinori verses Long Feng, Joychi, and some fodder.

I think I got most of it.

Shio's got pretty much the long short of it. I had assumed Zarah was still somewhere near by Salak and Ai Lin. I'm pretty sure Salak was fighting Shen-Zhu and Ai Lin had initiated a fight with Tatsuya, Jen and Suki. Zarah could lend her a hand to even the odds or go after any of the other Underground members. That's your call. :)
