Alright, this is for all those who have been paired up in the Sign-up thread. If you haven't, then go there, sign-up, and wait to be paired up.
Alright, here are the Enviornments:
Enviornment #1: (Advantage to Firebenders) A place with a volcano, surrounded by Lava. Like the Fire Nation.
Environment #2: (Advantage to Earthbenders) A rocky area, with mountains near.
Enviornment #3: (Advantage to Waterbenders) The North Pole at night.
Enviornment #4: (No Advantage) A steel room. Must bring things to bend with, or go without. (Be realistic.)
Enviorment #5 - (No Advantage) Daytime. Full of rocks for Eartbending, a river for Waterbending, and it's day, so good for Firebenders (not to mention all the grass around.)
Alright, here's where are pairings are:
Kiishu/Kanea - Enviornment #3
Shijin/Karena - Enivornment #2 (Night)
Akira/Kaven - Also Enviornment #2 (No mention or interaction of the other pairing, also Night)
Denya/Katara - Enviorment #1 (Day)
Your next place will be assigned once your duel is finished. The duel is finished when one of the people in question either cannot fight any longer, or gives up (or dies).
Post a simple introduction post until your partner starts. Oh, and no mention to anyone but your partner. If you must speak to your GM, do it OOC. Mods are automatically OOC when talking to their pairing.

Karena stood in a rocky, mountainy area. She didn't like this kind of area to be honest. And to top it off, it was night. She felt... weaker somehow at night, although she knew why. She was at a disadvantage at night. The Sun was her power, and she didn't have much power at the night.
She sighed, and stood there, her hair blowing in the slight wind as she waited for Shijin, her duel partner.

Deyna looked around him. Lava. He seemed to gather strength from this kindred place. He inhaled deeply as he stood there. "What a fine day for a battle." He laughed, "I hope my opponenet arrives soon."

Shijin looks around the area seeing all rock around him. Shijin jumps behind Karena lifts up a rock and throws it at her.

Katara entered the arena and saw that her partner was already there. She was in a volcano or something--lava surrounded the battle area. All she brought with her was her water skin--and a fat lot of good that would do, surrounded by lava! Katara sighed; she was a little nervous, so her palms were a little sweaty---or was that the heat? It didnt matter. The bottom line is that she was at a disadvantage, and in a big way.
"Hello Denya," she said smilingly. Disadvantage or not, adrenaline coursed through her at the thought of the approaching duel. "Are you ready to begin?"

Karena almost stumbled over as she felt a rock connect with her head. Anger etched in on her face, she turned around, glaring at him. "You'll regret that." She said, and then sent a fireball careening towards his head.

OOC: This is too confusing... Karena, do you suppose we could have different threads for different fights? I think that would be easier...
And Shijin, you said you a basic-level bender, yet somehow you blend into the earth? Only King Bumi ever pulled that off... that's a trick for advanced benders only, I'm afraid.

"Just a moment, Denya," said Katara. She pulled the cork off her water skin. "Okay, you can go first." She readied herself, the water from her water skin covering her right hand.

Deyna broke his pose and moved forward quickly in a low position. He first let loose a low fireball at Katara's midsection with his left fist and came up with his right sending another at her head.

Katara dodged the first fireball by spinning ninety degrees to the left. Oh wow, he's good, she thought distractedly. Seeing him send another fireball at her--this time to her head--she moved the water to form a water whip, sending it to meet Denya's fireball halfway.

After the fireball was doused by the whip, Deyna quickly followed up his fist barrages with a quick 180 degrees backwards kick sending another fireball towards Katara. He continued in his spin and stopped back in his original pose waiting for her reaction.

Since the fireball was extiguished, Katara was almost out of water; most of it had evaporated. Denya kick-sent another fireball at her; she dove to the ground and summer-saulted back to her feet. Oh, no...I hardly have any water left! What do I do? Noticing a small lump of hardened lava on the ground near her, Katara picked it up and thew it a Denya, using a little bit of her leftover water to help power her throw.

Deyna attempted a dodge to the left, but the lava clipped his shoulder sending him a little off balance and caused him to trip over a rock. Nice shot, maybe I shouldn't underestimate her.

Shijin chucked as the rock he threw hit Karena. He saw the fireball Karena sent he slammed his hands on the floor to make a small wall come between the fireball and him. The impact destroys the wall Shijin made creating dust, he begins to coughs. "That was a powerful attack" he thought to himself,and smiled "This should be fun."
Shijin jumps out of the dust Karena in his site he bends the earth to cover his fist he runs toward to her using his rock fist to punch.

Katara was tempted to celebrate, but she knew that doing so could cost her the match--and maybe her life. Instead, she picked up another rock and did the same thing. Without waiting to see if it hit, she attacked, attempting to drive her elbow into Denya's stomach.
OOC: Karena, if this is against character, please tell me. The reason I'm doing it is because its a bit hopeless for Katara otherwise.

Katara noticed that Denya was ready for her, so she changed her mind. Instead of elbowing his stomach, she stopped just short of him and swung her right leg in an arch, attempting to kick his head.

Deyna brought his left arm up with it spraying a small flame as it went to block her oncoming leg. Right after this, he went with his right hand to grab for her throat

Deyna blocked her kick; Katara's right foot landed back to the ground. As he went to grab her throat with his right hand, she attempted to intercept it by grabbing his wrist.
