In this thread, you'll answer questions about your character in order to better understand your character, become a better RPGer with your character, and make your character more realistic and more in depth. It used not to be required, but now we require it to help you flesh out your character and get a better idea of whom they are. It not only helps you roleplay but it helps you become a better roleplayer.

I’ve added two questions. If you filled out the old ten-questions in the old thread, then you are not required to do so again here. If you want to, you can simply answer the last question and be done with it, or you cannot answer it at all. Since the questions were added after you did it, you are not obligated to fill them out.

Simply copy and paste the questions, then answer to the best of your ability. If you are having trouble with one, just leave it, and I will help you or one of the other Core Staff if I am not available to do so. I will point out areas where it’s unrealistic, or where you should flesh it out. Then, I will either okay it or tell you what you need to fix. Then, all you have to do is post saying that you fixed them and then I will okay it.

OC's only, please, and feel free to answer for as many characters as you have, as long as they are OC’s.

NOTE: YOU MUST ALREADY HAVE THE CHARACTER CREATED AND POSTED IN THE PROFILES BOARD BEFORE SIGNING UP! Also, we do prefer that it’s been approved, but be prepared to make changes to your original profile here if you choose to do it before.

Getting to Know:
Naota

1. What is your character's name?
Naota. Just Naota.

2. Where is your character from?
Naota was born and lived his entire life in a small village located in the heart of the Earth Kingdom.

3. What is your character's age?
He just turn eleven year old.

4. What does your character look like?
Naota is an obvious child. He is short and has a fragile build. The young boy is practically skin and bones, despite his tendency to eat like a human garbage disposal. His hair is a chest nut brown and sits atop his head like a giant uncontrollable jungle. Like most others in the Earth Kingdom, he has green eyes. Naota's green eyes are light in shade and have an almost beautiful ethereal glow to them. Though all of the other aspects of his appearance seem to stick with the Earth Kingdom norm, Naota has the skin of his mother. His skin is fair and pale, like those from the Fire Nation. Everything seems to come together to make the whole picture what everyone knows as Naota. Even his awkward features such as his hands being a little too big for his body, and his "kinda big" ears that are hidden behind the monstrosity that he calls hair. In the end, Naota could be summed up into one word: cute.

As for clothes, Naota doesn't particularly stick with a single outfit. He does however prefer to wear a certain type of clothes. Earthy colors are his favorite, though he wouldn't mind wearing blues and whites. Reds, oranges, and yellows are something that would need to be forced onto Naota. He just doesn't like them. Naota's attire consists usually of a short sleeves shirt, a jacket, a pair of pants that aren't too long or big but not small on him, and pair of shoes or sandals depending on the weather. If he finds himself in cold terrain, he may sport a thicker jacket and a scarf.

5. Give a detailed history of your character. Who are your parents? Are they alive? If not, what happened? Tell us what happened to character in their life so far.
Naota was born in a small village located in the heart of the Earth Kingdom. There he was raised by his parents: an Earth bender and a woman from a rich family in the Fire Nation who was banished. He was also always looked over by the village elders. The village was located in one of the many mountain ranges across the entire kingdom. It was a close nit community and they were self-sufficient. They would have to be because not many people passed through there.

From an early age everyone could tell that Naota was gifted. Though they were a small village, they had an academy with learned teachers and the resources to contact a specialist. And that is exactly what they did. A specialist was summoned to the village from Ba Sing Se and he examined Naota and gave him a series of tests and puzzles. Naota easily passed them and with flying colors. The man declared the boy a genius and gave a declaration of the fact. It was so rare that someone so intelligent came out of a place in the middle of no where.

Naota was raised as a virtuous young lad and was taught in the way of Earthbending by his father. He also was personally tutored by the village elders (since he was passing out of the academy too easily) and also studied many different martial arts styles. One of elder in particular, the oldest of them, taught young Naota the stances and forms of the ancient airbenders. That was taken by the boy and integrated into his Earthbending to create his signature style of rending the earth.

One day when he was about nine years old a mysterious man came passing through the small village. The man did not give his name, the man did not give the name of the place where he came from, the man did not tell anyone anything. Therefore, he came to be known as the mysterious traveler. He was a swordsman and while he was in the village inn (which was scarcely used) Naota came to him and begged him to teach him how to wield and use a sword. Naota wanted to learn as much as possible, and there were no swordsman in the village at all.

For months, Naota studied swordsmanship under the man. He learned a lot, as well as training techniques that he could use for his bending. The hardest thing however was making the sword an extension of his own body. The idea of become one with an inanimate object was something Naota couldn't fathom. But he eventually was able to do it and became pretty good at using a blade. The style of fighting that used a sword to do most of the blows fit Naota, it used tactics and that was something the genius was good at. Before the mysterious traveler left he gave Naota a hand made sword. It's blade was made of obsidian, as black as night, and it was a beautiful piece of work.

When Naota was ten he decided that he would leave his home when he graduated from the academy (which most left when they were sixteen at least) to pursue his fortune and his dreams. His parents supported him to the fullest. Finally, he graduated from the academy at the age of eleven and left the village promising one day to return. He wanted to become a legend, especially after hearing about the return of the avatar. Naota said "Who says you have to be the avatar, a person who can bend all the elements, to be legendary and to effect the whole world. I'll show the world different."

And so the beginning of Naota's Adventures had begun.

6. What does your character like? Dislike?
Naota likes almost everything. But if you had to choose a few things they would be: food, naps, traveling, and playing games. His favorite foods are anything that is sweet; Naota personally likes candy the best. Taking naps are relaxing and he likes to take them every now and then. Traveling is one of the reasons why he is currently traveling around the world to become the greatest of the great. Being a kid he would obviously like playing games of all kinds, especially ones he never played before (they give him something new and different to be good at).

First of all, Naota dislikes fiery colors such as red, orange, and yellow. Mind you he won't act negatively towards them or anything, he just doesn't like those colors (especially for clothes). He also doesn't like bad people (who are just plain hateful and evil), nor does he like bad tasting food (he practically hates it, but he'd probably still eat it anyways).

7. What are some good traits of your character? Bad?
Naota has many good traits. First and foremost, he has the intelligence level of a genius. This is an asset when it comes to being a member of a team. He could quickly find ways around obstacles and challenges. And during battle he could plan a tactical way of taking down the enemy as quick as possible and with the lowest number of casualties and mishaps.

He is also a nice and fun person to be around: a true friend. Naota doesn't give up on anyone and will remain faithful to them forever. If someone asked him to do something he'd more than likely do it without even questioning. Speaking of questioning, he takes a strong interest in the welfare of others and will try his hardest to make everything okay.

Sadly, not all of Naota's traits are good. One of his bad traits are his eating habits. Though he is in shape and healthy he eats like a garbage disposal (in other words anything that doesn't eat him first). This is a costly diet and anyone caught traveling with him may find themselves with lighter pockets in no time.

Another negative part to Naota is the fact that he wears his emotions on his sleeve. He's not afraid to cry in front of someone, and at the same time he's not afraid to blow his top and throw a fit of anger. Because of his overly strong emotions he's easy to predict and manipulate. It may also be a tad annoying every now and then. Naota also has little to no common sense. If he became a teacher he'd be the "No-SENSEi".

8. Does your character bend? What level of training is your character at? Who taught your character?
Naota is an Earth Bender. He learned from his father who was a Master at the art and who studied the creatures who the bending of earth originated from (the Badgermoles). Because he is young and no prodigy at Earthbending, Naota has reached a level only a step above the basics. Lacking in raw power and skill, Naota makes up for in technique. He has learned many different martial arts styles and forms (stances) of Earth Bending. This includes: Praying Mantis Style, Hung Gar Style (the usual style of bending earth), Ba Gua (airbending), and a style similar to boxing.

Naota hopes to one day master bending to the point of bending through pure concentration (neutral jing), and maybe even learn to see through Earth Bending (though he had only heard a few whispers and rumors of such a feat). He also hopes to incorporate the other Bending styles into his Earthbending and to also incorporate many other martial arts styles. That is why he studied and learned so many styles of fighting, including swordsmanship.

9. What does your character like doing? What do they not enjoy doing?
Naota enjoys doing a lot of things. He really likes to learn. Learning is fun for him and he likes to learn as much as possible and about anything. From random facts, to new fighting styles, to more information on what he already knew. More so, Naota enjoys practicing his earth bending. One of his goals is to become the greatest Earth Bender of all time. This goal cannot be reached by sitting around and doing nothing. Therefore he trains as much as he could to reach the legendary status of the art of bending.

He also enjoys eating. Eating anything. Even if the food tastes horrible he'd still eat it. Another thing that he enjoys is hanging out with friends. Being around people that he enjoys being around. It sounds like common sense right? This is probably the only common sense in Naota. He enjoys making as much friends as possible, and one day wishes to have friends all around the world. Finally, Naota enjoys traveling and going on adventures.

There is only one thing that Naota does not enjoy doing and that is pointless fighting. Mindless violence is exactly that to the boy genius: mindless. If there is no gain from the fighting then Naota sees no point in the fighting at all. Obviously this does not count towards things like self defense or training.

10. What or who is important to your character and why?
Naota is young and has only known a life within the village he grew up (at least until recently when he left to go on his journey). Therefore, there is not much that he holds important in his life. The most obvious one would be his family. Naota's father and mother are one of the most important things to him and mean more than any material good. There would also be all of the people in the village where he grew up. Secondly, the earth and planet itself is very important to the young boy. This is because he has understood something that no other kid his age (unless they are the avatar, someone who is wise, or someone who is as intelligent as he is) understands. The earth is where all life thrives off of and comes from, it is also the source of his power as an Earthbender.

11. What or who is your character afraid of and why? What is your character’s greatest fear and why?
Once again, Naota is young and hasn't fully experienced the world yet. Therefore, he hasn't encountered anything or anyone who he is actually afraid. That is except for his mother. When he didn't do his chores or did something bad his mother got furious. And when his mother gets angry it's a scary sight to behold, and that is the one person Naota is terrified of. Other than that, he hopes to see many things that will make him afraid as he travels across the many lands.

Naota's greatest fear is not being able to achieve his dream of becoming one of the most legendary people in history. If he doesn't achieve his dream he will die and be forgotten and more importantly he'd be a loser in the game of life and a failure on his own personal quest. This is why he reaches an almost inhuman level of determination that allows him to go over his limitations whenever something is in the way of him achieving his dreams.

12. What is your character’s goal(s) in life and why?
A Dreamer. Naota aspires to be the greatest Adventurer, Explorer, Traveler, Earth Bender, Martial Artist, Swordsman, and Musician someday. Yeah, he has big dreams. He sums his dream up as "To become one of the greatest people in History one day, and be known by everyone worldwide." That was the reason he left his home to travel the world and learn and do as much as he could. To experience life and chase his dream of becoming the best of the best. When Naota sets his mind on something he puts his whole person into (mind, soul, and body) and never gives up. At times he could be headstrong, but he loves to learn from others by watching and will admit not being as good as someone (though he proclaims that he'll one day defeat them). Naota chases this goal for the simple and pure reason of becoming a legend. Childish yes, but he is a child after all.

Questions:

1. What is your character's name?
Zuku Karama

2. Where is your character from?
The Earth Kingdom, but he fled as a boy to the mountains in the north.

3. What is your character's age?
Zuku is 15

4. What does your character look like?
Zuku has a nice tone of body and average sized muscles from working out daily. The family trait carried in the Karama blood is gray hair and black eyes. The young gray haired boy's face is a slender shape with a pointed chin and smallish ears for his body size. His leg muscles are where his real strength comes from. More muscles are in his calves and hamstrings then Zuku does in any other part of his body. His neck is a boulder like roughness and when he twists his neck you can feel the intenseness of the muscle pushing its way up to make it seem like there is a lump on the back of his neck.

Zuku wears a dark-blue t-shirt with a picture of his family on it, and also has a few wears and tears from years of having it. Over the dark-blue t-shirt he has on a black jacket that he often wears around the Village he lives in. The jacket has two pockets on the sides of it and two inside pockets which are located by the armpit area. His jacket is a zip up, but the zipper broke when it got snagged on a broken piece of wood.

The Karama youngster wears a pear of black jeans and some blue ninja sandals. He wears wrappings over his hands and over his feet up to the ankle. Zuku also has some of the wrapping to make his thighs tight for when he is in a fight. He has a belt on so in a fight his pants don't sag down and then that becomes a problem. Then the wrapping on his hands and feet are to stabilize the muscles so he doesn't’t sprain or break anything.

5. Give a detailed history of your character. Who are your parents? Are they alive? If not, what happened? Tell us what happened to character in their life so far.
[glow=red,2,300]Note: This is my actuall History![/glow]
The fiery pits of hell burn the village he once used to call a home. Some raiders were going throughout the village taking all the women with them that were actually many good people to the Earth country. Zuku was hiding under a table from his dad's command and was crying his eyes out.

The raiders smashed in the door of Zuku's home and shot a blast of fire at his dad. So they were Fire Benders! Why were Fire Benders her...nobody knew, but what he did know is that he had to do something. He was old enough to do some sort of Earth Bending...he was about 11 at that time. He stood up from out of the table and the raiders looked at him saying,"What the Fu-." A brick of earth hit the man in the face. He went down with a bang and a cloud of dust came out of the floor. The other person punched the air with great anger and force and out came a great shot of fire. It hit Zuku in the shoulder and he fell with a yelp.

He was very lucky that he didn't die, but the man killed another person instead of Zuku's. Senshi Karama-Zuku's dad...jumped out onto the raider and fell back down but pushed up spikes of stone that cut through the raider. The thing was that there was another. The last raider pushed with all his strength out the biggest blast of fire that burnt Senshi to a crisp and all he looked like was a a burned upraisinn that just laid there onthee floor shaking.

At that time Zuku was out of the house and running toward the exit of the village. He finally got to the exit and was on his own now. He was beginning to cry and thought of his dad and mom who sacrificed themselves for him. He was off to a few years to train to avenge his mother and father and to become the best Earth Bender he can be!

A year had passed and Zuku found a strange mountain he could train on for a little while. What he didn't know is that there was someone else on the mountain with him, and this is where his history truly begins.

"Hey kid what are you doing in my home?" An old man with a hunched over back came out of the bushes in the mountain side.

"Oh sorry I didn't know it was yours."

"What are you doing here anyway kid?"

Their conversation of why Zuku fled his village went on for at least a few hours. Zuku told him everything from his age which was 12. The old man even told him his name. It was a very strange one...Hokun. He agreed to train Zuku since he too was a Earth Bender and a very good one at that.

They first started their training by first learning the simples of lifting the earth from the ground. Zuku did that easily, but he still thought he needed training of how to use it in defense. Then when Zuku told him that the man taught him to push it up with force and use it to block the attacks of enemies.

Next there was a test of strength and willpower. Hokun faced Zuku in a brawl. Zuku swung a punch at Hokun, but he dodged it and kicked Zuku in the face. He fell with blood coming out of his nose and he got back up with a smirk. Zuku then raised up the earth into a brick and he sent it flyingtowards Hokun. It skid across his face and made a slice on his cheek.

"Thats good Zuku...good. Now you have been actually tried to hurt me. That's what I want from you!"

Hokun sent sharp rocks with force outtowards Zuku and he dodged most of them. Some still stuck in his back almost hitting the spinal cord. After Hokun saw that they stopped for a while.

They sat next to the fire and talked about their lives. They ate some sort of meat and a drink of water from the stream near the mountain side. Zuku was glad to even be part of the relationship between them and was sure enough happy that they were training together. Though Hokun had alittlee surprise for Zuku.

"Hey Zuku...Do you think that if we train together for long enough we can actually beat the raiders who killed your family?"

"You know what...I just don't know Hokun...I just don't know. Actually if we learn all the offensive attacks we can probably do it. Though we can also beat them by using the defense we learned.

Zuku and Hokun were asleep and Hokun died of a heart attack while they were sleeping. When Zuku found out he wanted to just kill himself, but he remembered the promise he made to Hokun that he wouldn't dieuntill he found the raiders and shed their blood.

A year had passed of training and Zuku had befriended a fox. He named him Junko san, in name of his old grandfather who died in a bloody battle. Zuku was still trying to get strong enough so he could kill the raiders and he was getting closer and closer by the week. Zuku and Junko san were walking in the forest on the mountain and they found a baby deer dead on the side of a rock. It looked as if the animal had been torn apart limb from limb and was eaten to the bone. The accident must have recently happened according of the smell and the fact that there were no flies or maggots on him yet. Since they figured that they had to bespeciallyy careful not to get in danger, or worse...killed.

They found some beans and berries and a little chipmunk to eat for dinner tonight and a bucket full of water to go with it. They were both training tactics and the skills of a Earth Country Bender. Zuku had taught Junko san to fight with the stones Zuku could make from the earth and they had mastered the skill and were pretty sure a year would do it then they could go avenge Zuku's parents.

The time had finally come for Zuku was a year older and was 15 and ready to go kick some ass! Him and Junko were off to find the raiders and were ready for anything to happen. They had mastered the skill of offense together and were masters at defending each other too. The time was right and they had one final goal...kill the raiders.

6. What does your character like? Dislike?
Zuku likes to get a nice quick jog in the mornings when he wakes up-just so he can get the feeling of nature in him. Animals like foxes for instence are a personal choice to Zuku for companions...not pets Zuku doesn't like that word at all. His lover is the chocalate pudding. Oh how he loves that pudding. Zuku could eat this stuff forever is he wanted to.

Now lets get on to Zuku's dislikes. He loathes the word "pet"(as I said). Zuku also isn't a fan of raiders either. In fact he wants them to all burn to death for all he cares. Death wouldn't be far on his list either. That's what took many of Zuku's friend's and family. The pure thought of death and hatred that kills people makes him so angry and messed up in the head. If he could he would kill death with his bare hands. Though other than that Zuku doesn' care much.

7.What are some good traits of your character? Bad?
Some good traits are that he usually is very kind to most people. Zuku is very humble in which most people like. He always go by the motto "Ladies first" because he is a gentleman. His maners are very well trained since he did have a master not only in Earth Bending, but also in manners.

Zuku's bad traits are that he snores when he sleeps. Oh! How much people hate that are far beond my counting ability. This may be bad in certain times, but any who it is being overly confident. This may be bad because in a battle it can very well screw him over badly. His level of anger takes him over at some times. He can be very angry to the wrong people abd thats why it is very bad in some times.

8. Does your character bend? What level of training is your character at? Who taught your character?
Yes Zuku is actually an Earth Bender. He has been bending ever since he was twelve. Zuku is above average on his bending skills and can probably beat most people in a bending battle. He isn't at a master level like Hokun, but is very close. His ability actually is more concentration than power and that is why Zuku is sooooo good at what he does. Zuku was taught by the evr so mighty Hokun! This old bender taught Zuku everything he needed to know about bending. Zuku was taught of how to bend through concentration and not anger and power. This is why Hokun was such a good Earth Bender and Zuku wishes he could be like him one day.

9. What does your character like doing? What do they not enjoy doing?
Zuku loves to take jogs and work out. He also loves to play with Junko and work out with him as well. Junko is really the only thing that he loves to do and always spends time with him. Other than that he also loves to learn new things and really likes to Earth Bend. That is what he actually loves doing in this world beside talking to his parents, but he can't do that anymore.

Some things he dislikes doing are going to school. He didn't like going to school because it was a waste of time and he was always a kid that learned things easily so that is why he didn't like going to school. He hated going shopping with his parents because it was so dreadfully boring. Most things other than these he actually enjoys doing. So this is all that strikes him crazy that he mostly does, or did.

10. What or who is important to your character and why?

First lets start with Zuku's parents. Zuku loves them so much because they love him no matter what he does, or says. They taught him all his manners and the things he needs to know about how to get through life. They also told him about the bending skill he will soon enherit once he got old enough. This is why Zuku was able to bend at a very young age, but not so well though.

Next, lets go on to Hokun. Hokun was Zuku's first real friend and they both treated each other as grandfather and grandson. They may have faught some times, but they still loved each other. They did so because he was in fact his master and they always did have a bond that seemed to stick out because they would always help each other out.

Last, but certainly not least there is Junko san, or as he calls him just Junko. Zuku loves this little Fox ever since he found him in the forest on the mountain side. They had a strong friendship throughout the time of Zuku's history. They had each others backs and they worked well together. Zuku treated him like a father would and sometimes like a brother. All that is to know is that Zuku truely loves all these people and he wishes that they were always with him.

11. What or who is your character afraid of and why? What is your character’s greatest fear and why?
Well Zuku isn't really afrais of anything, but the dark. This freaks him out only because he thinks he sees shapes in the shadows and it always keeps him awake at night. The nice young fox Junko keeps him company luckily though so thats good.

His greatest fear is nightmares. They may not be real, but they put a big toll on him. This effects how he bends and how he interacts the next day with people and things(animals). The only perminent striking nightmare he ever had was the re-playing vision of his parents being killed by raiders right in front of his face. That is why "Nightmares" and "Darkness" are his most feared things.

12. What is your character’s goal(s) in life and why?
Zuku's goal is to have a family that contains of very good Earth Benders. Zuku doesn't really need the Bending thing, but only wishes to have a great loving family that cares about the other people and will help him kill the raiders(which is his other goal in life). Yes Zuku does want to kill the raiders because they had no right to kill his parents and he will avenge them with no mercy at all. If they even beg for their lives he will just say,"What about my parents mercy?" and strike them dead. That is Zuku's goals in life.

Questions:
1. What is your character's name?
Shuimei

2. Where is your character from?
Originally the Northern Water Tribe, but has lived on an uncharted island of nonbenders since she was a toddler
3. What is your character's age?
She is sixteen
4. What does your character look like?
Shuimei is a good average height of five feet, six inches, and is relatively slim. Her hair is a dark chocolate brown with a tint of red in the sunlight, and curls into perfect, tight ringlets down to her narrow waistline. Her eyes are big and bright turquoize, as well as pointed on the edges. Her face is heart-shaped with soft curves and edges. The only hint of color in her porcelain skin is the peachy blush in her cheeks. She does not have a single freckle or blemish despite her fair complection. She has peachy, rosebud lips on her small mouth and strangely straight teeth. Her limbs are toned and shapely from waterbending but she has tiny feet and hands. She is a beauty as far as teenagers go, but moves with the grace of a three-legged hippo.

Being the princess of her small island, she wore delicate, embroidered silks in pastel colors and jewelry made of lillies. Her favorite garment to wear was a pale violet tube top, cut under the bust along with a pink wrap that covered her upper arms, and a pink wrap around skirt with a purple belt. She didn't wear shoes on the island thanks to the soft sands and grasses. She always wore flowers as accessories and braided bracelets.

When Shuimei ran away from the island, she began to wear more common clothes to blend in. Since she was hiding out in the earth kingdom the majority of the time, she wears a mans green shirt that went down to her mid-thigh and tied a brown scarf around her waist and a white and gold vest. Along with her make-shift dress, she wears knee length sandels similar to gladiator sandels.
5. Give a detailed history of your character. Who are your parents? Are they alive? If not, what happened? Tell us what happened to character in their life so far.
When Shuimei was born, her mother was still very young. She lived in the Northern Water Tribe with her mother, Lakkana, and aunt in a small house near the edge of the city. Her mother was a beauty and a popular choice among suitors, all of whom she turned down before she was born. When a group of Earth Kingdom travelers came to the Northern Water Tribe, a young man named Akame caught Lakkana's eye. For the next month, Akame and Lakkana were inseperable and when the Earth Kingdom Travelers were leaving, Akame stayed behind. Within the next few months Lakkana announced her pregnancy. Akame disappeared the night after his girlfriend told him the news and no one even saw him leave. Lakkana went into a depression when Akame left and the only thing that cheered her up, was the day her baby arrived. The baby girl was originally named Akama, after her father. Over the next two years, Lakkana became completely commited to being a good mother. No one even suspected what was coming next. Two years after Akama's birth, a small boat rowed slowly in from the night. A dark figure made his way through the village and into the small hut where Lakkana and her child lived. Even as the man carried the cradle through the town, no one woke until the bundle in the cradle started to cry. Akame ran with his daughter back to the boat when the village started to wake. He made it to the boat but everyone in the town was awake and trying to get the child back. Blasts of water flew in every direction as the boat tried in vain to escape. Although many experienced benders tried to bring back the child, it was a nineteen year old boy who created a huge tsunami. The wave came over the small boat and slowly took Akama out to sea. The village was in mourning for a while but soon everything came back to the way it was before. Little did anyone know, young Akama drifted harmlessly across the sea and to a strange island. The islanders saw a cradle drifting towards them and all gathered around the shoreline. The chief and his wife had been unable to have a child so they saw this baby as a gift from the spirits. She was named Shuimei meaning 'beautiful waters' for the sea that brought her to them.

Shuimei grew up on the small island learning the ways of the islanders. The island was called Rusuhenahena, and there were no benders on the island. Rusuhenahena had been detatched from the complications of the four elements long ago. So long ago, that only the oldest Rusuhenians knew anything of the outside world. As Shuimei grew, she discovered her ability of water bending, and she kept it hidden from her tribe. Everynight, she would travel deep into the island forest to a spring she found and practice her bending. Since she never knew anything of other waterbenders, the way she bended was very different from the normal water bending movements. She would form a ball of water in her hands then throw it like a disc. If she tried doing anything else, the water just evaporated into the air.

Around her sixteenth birthday, Shuimei snuck away from the island on a raft in search of the places the elders described, where people could control the elements. She used her bending as a motor and went as fast as she could across the ocean. After two days, she ran out of food, and a day later she ran out of water. In the scorching heat of the sun, she fainted of exhaustion and hunger. When she woke, she found herself on a rocky beach in an unknown place. She did not know where she was, but she knew it wasn't Rusuhenahena. She could hear a stream somewhere close so she climbed up over the rocks. The air was cool and brisk, and the rocks were rough under her barefeet. When she reached the top, she realized that it wasn't a stream she heard, but a well. A small town was just through the trees. Shuimei had found what she was looking for.

6. What does your character like? Dislike?
Shuimei is very fond of the arts. She has a very artistic and creative mind and is a spectacular artist. Charcoal is her favorite drawing tool because it can be found anywhere. She also loves nature and animals, shes even a vegetarian. She loves exploring and is fasignated by the Earth Kingdom. Her favorite colors are different shades of aqua and turquoise. She loves little kids and finds them much more interesting then people her own age who are in her view, cruel and stuck-up. She doesn't like her clumsiness or showoffs. She finds the most interesting people to be those who do not exhibit their talents. She doesn't like all the bad stuff she finds in the real world such as war and bureaucracy.
9. What does your character like doing? What do they not enjoy doing? 7. What are some good traits of your character? Bad?
My character enjoys traveling and exploring areas she has never seen. She likes go hiking and go for walks because she finds the world to be so amazing. She likes to draw what she sees and write about her experiences. She doesn't like being indoors or playing sports. Sports and any similar game agitate her. She is very clumsy so she doesn't like to do things she could easily mess up with. She is very calm and innocent as well as sweet. She prefers to help others rather than herself and is known for random acts of kindness. She has a very worldly mind and thinks far ahead. She is kind of spacy and forgetful and very clumsy. She is also very stubborn and refuses to compromise once shes made up her mind. She also is known for correcting people when she makes the same mistakes.
8. Does your character bend? What level of training is your character at? Who taught your character?
Shuimei is at a pretty experienced level for where shes from. Since she only knows what she taught herself, being able to actually control water is a big accomplishment. She has also discovered the relationship between the moon and waterbending so she knows the best times to practice. Her style of bending is very unique, and has similar movements to airbending since she likes to manipulate water into balls. Because of this, she often messes up and the water she's bending turns into water vapor.

10. What or who is important to your character and why?
Although she ran away from the island, she has her parents' and tribe's best interest at heart. Shuimei believes that every life is precious and that the world is alive itself. It is also very important to Shuimei to find out wear she came from and why she ended up where she did. She loves her adopted family more than anything in the world, but her entire world is a mystery and knowing who she actually is is very important to her.
11. What or who is your character afraid of and why? What is your character’s greatest fear and why?
Shuimei's greatest fear is the unknown. The thought of people possibly going away forever when they die scares her deeply. Aside from that, she has minor fears such as falling, getting lost, and the ever irrational fear of ceramic pots.
12. What is your character’s goal(s) in life and why?
Her goal is to finout who she really is. Shuimei wants to find her real family and why she was forced away from her true home. The world is full of things she never even imagined and she is determined to explore it all. She wants to be free to do whatever she wants for the rest of her life.

Ozark - Your name is incorrect. It should be the same as your main character. Other than that, you're good.

zuku - Your name is also incorrect. It needs to be capitalized. Also, there is heavy Naruto references, and every single one of them need to be removed. This is an Avatar site, not a Naruto site.

yomii - Your name is also incorrect. It should be capitalized. #'s 7 -9 are too short. They need to be expanded. #12 needs to be in complete sentences and needs a reason why. #5 is a bit too brief, and should be expanded, but it's okay. #4 is too short, needs to be expanded and put in complete sentences.

Lol, sorry about the confusion. Kk, doing it right this time. Hope this time it gets accepted, I can't wait to RP.

Questions:[/i][/u]

1. What is your character's name?

Souichi Heikeya.

2. Where is your character from?

The Fire Nation capital.

3. What is your character's age?

16.

4. What does your character look like?

Souichi is quite the imposing fellow. Blessed enough to be a little bit taller, about an inch, than most Fire Nation citizens, Souichi has broad shoulders and a fit body. His arms and chest, as one might not expect, aren't buff. Although the shape is evident, the muscles aren't really as pumped up as his fellow benders. But when he flexes, you can clearly see the couture of his muscles.

With hair matching a lion's golden mane, except chocolate in color, and bright orange eyes, the boy, as one might be led to believe, is undoubtedly of the Fire Nation. His face, although quite sharp and dashing, hadn't lost its youthfulness. His cheekbones still full, not decreased in anyway, but with a jaw the opposite of his cheeks.

A Fire Nation citizen in every sense of the word, Souichi dresses himself in the garbs of the quite traditional – yet somewhat fresh – Fire Nation citizen. He is clothed in a red, gray trimmed, shozoku. Tabi slippers wrapped around his feet, and he carries quite a few, incase fortune decides to burn the ones on his feet, on his waist. His katana also hangs on his waist, awaiting withdrawal in its scabbard.

5. Give a detailed history of your character. Who are your parents? Are they alive? If not, what happened? Tell us what happened to character in their life so far.

Born 84 years after the war had started, the young Souichi was born in the heart of the Fire Nation. Born to the Heikeya's, the one and only family of Sword Dancers, Souichi was made to understand the ways of the sword before he could even walk. Before he could engage in proper conversation, he already sliced through his family's Wagan Bamboo – a special kind of bamboo known to mimic the weight of a man's arm – gardens. Unlike the regular Fire Nation soldiers, he was trained with one thing in mind. Finesse.

Although embodying both form and substance, his form shines brighter than any star would. His strikes were powerful, yet controlled. His slices decisive and swift. He was the pride of the Heikeya's as much as his pride was the Fire Nation. He was a prodigy of the sword, make no mistake.

Although the Heikeya's were benders themselves, they weren't exactly normal benders. They could shoot the regular fireballs, but those fireballs would have only tickled enemies. Instead, the Heikeya's use their Firebending in ways many would seem quite weird. Utilizing Firebending only as a defense mechanism, the Heikaya's would rather blind enemies with a bright flare of fire than anything else – or even augment their own weapons during combat. The only regular techniques they focused on were Fire Absorption (as not to burn themselves) and a burst of fire from their feet to achieve a faster dash (similar to the Jet Propulsion in the series except done in waaaay shorter bursts of fire).

Growing up, Souichi wasn't schooled by the Fire Nation schools, but his own family. He didn't have any friends except his siblings. He had two elder sisters – Ashina, his senior by five years, who was a housewife now (although her edge with the blade was not lost) – and Dyasuke, his senior by a year, who was traveling the world like he did.

His prized possession was his katana. Crafted by Souichi himself, his katana's blade, hilt and hiltguard were forged by him and for him in the Heikeya forge pit. His family had a tradition of naming their blades, but Souichi, who couldn't decide on what to name his sword, just called it the Nameless sword.

Shortly after his journey away from home, he received word that his parents had passed away. He quickly set his course back home where he met with his two sisters. He buried his parents, as tradition of the Heikeya's went. "The first male shall bury the parents," the tradition went. And so he did bury them in the Heikeya's cementery grounds along with his ancestors, after their corpses had been reduced to ashes in an urn.

As much as the Heikeya's loved the Fire Nation unfadingly, none of them joined the army. Souichi wasn't an exception. He was a warrior, but he wasn't a soldier. Instead, he crafted his own tale. Making an impact on the lives and places he chooses to affect. But, when the fate of the Nation of the Flames was in question, Souichi would put both his blade and his life on the line.

6. What does your character like? Dislike?

He loves meat. He hates fish though. Unlike most Fire Nation people he doesn't harbor a great hatred for the other elements, the only fault he sees is them not joining the cause (rather, believing in the cause) of the Fire Lord. For example, he doesn't find the Dai Li as enemies, but as comrade-in-arms.

7. What are some good traits of your character? Bad?

He's passionate about his love for the Fire Nation, happy-go-lucky to the point of being impulsive and irrational, and with unbreakable fortitude – a man who never gives up despite everything.

He's arrogant though, as he is passionate. And all though his training demanded him to wait at the opportune moment, he is impatient. He is also hot-headed when it comes to talking about his honor, family or the Fire Nation.

8. Does your character bend? What level of training is your character at? Who taught your character?

Souichi bends fire, and he's not quite good at most of the things that Firebending demands from their benders. His techniques are less straight-forward than most Firebenders.

Although throwing fireballs and creating walls of fires aren't his style, he's quite good at the things he know how to do. His signature techniques involve blinding people with a flash of bright fire and using fire as a dash mechanism. He often augments his katana with fire as to block the attacks of the bending styles.

The Heikeya family taught him this art of Firebending.

9. What does your character like doing? What do they not enjoy doing?

He enjoys riding animals – or just being with animals, having grown up with a few himself. He loves fighting, but he doesn't enjoy killing, preferring to knock people out instead.

Also, Souichi enjoys visiting his niece, his sister Shina's daughter, in the Fire Nation – often bringing new toys for her to play with. He enjoys eating and sleeping too, both traits of the traditional sloth.

He doesn't enjoy trips on any kind of boat at all. He doesn't enjoy swimming. Funny thing is, he enjoys the snow and the cold weather just the same.

10. What or who is important to your character and why?

The Fire Lord Ozai and his daughter Azula are no doubt the most important people in his life. If anything, he is prepared to die for them in a heartbeat – but not kill for them.

His family comes second to the royal family. His parents, though long dead, his sister Ashina and his beloved elder sister Dyasuke.

His honor, comes third.

11. What or who is your character afraid of and why? What is your character’s greatest fear and why?

He is afraid of the Fire Nation losing the war and he is afraid of losing his sister Dyasuke in her travels.

Souchi is deathly afraid of his parents, even if they have been long dead, because of the numerous beatings they gave him as a child – despite the fact that they're the reason why he became such a strong fighter.

His greatest fear though, is quite idiotic as it is his biggest weakness. Water. Souchi's extreeemley hydrophobic. He doesn't know how to swim at all, dating back to a childhood experience of drowning. He's very weary of traveling via anything that floats on water (deep sea water or otherwise).

12. What is your character’s goal(s) in life and why?

Souichi's greatest goal in life is the Fire Nation's greatest goal. To conquer the world, and spread the greatness of the Fire Nation to every corner of the globe.

This is his greatest goal because he was raised to believe in that goal. He was, since his birth, raised to believe that the Fire Nation's goal was a honorable one. He believes firmly, and with the utmost conviction, that the Fire Nation ruling the globe is the right path of humanity.

1. What is your character's name?
Anju.

2. Where is your character from?
The temple of Aure Tor on the island of Mothhaud in the Fire Nation.

3. What is your character's age?
Fifteen.

4. What does your character look like?
Anju has straight black hair that shines purple in the sun, it falls all the way down to her hips and thus she normally keeps it tied up in a neat bun using a cord of yellow cloth. Longer strands of hair hang free, framing her face and reaching a little past her chin. Her hair is sleek, and well taken care of, Anju obsessively makes sure that she has no split ends or anything of that sort.

Her face is slightly chubby and round with baby fat. Anju’s features are strong, giving her a slight obstinate cast to her expression. Her eyes are an expressive yet dull shade of yellow and are framed by thick black eyelashes. Anju usually keeps her eyes narrowed, creating a perpetually annoyed look. Her pupils, on closer inspection, are a solid mix of amber and pale yellow, paler than is average. Her eyebrows are usually hidden by her long bangs. Anju’s nose is small and delicate looking. Her mouth is mobile, lips small and thin, more often than not drawn back in a sneer. Anju’s skin is a tan only achieved from long hours outside. Her skin is rough and weathered from lack of proper care and the amount of time she spends exposed to the elements.

Anju’s arms are long and lithe, ending with thin delicate hands and slim tapered fingers. Her hands are calloused and tough, showing signs of physical labor. Anju is stocky in build, being shorter than most and more compact. She’s not fat but she isn’t anywhere near skinny either. Anju is wiry rather than muscular, but she is notably in shape. Anju has several inconsequential scars, none of which are remarkable, and she’s usually littered with various bruises from either training or fighting, or just plain clumsiness.

Anju adamantly refuses to wear any color other than red and yellow, no matter the occasion. She normally wears a full length tunic, with cut off sleeves, belted over a pair of loose fitting pants. The colors of her clothing changes depending on her location and general mood, but normally her tunic is a deep red with several designs embroidered along the hem, and her pants are a dark yellow.

5. Give a detailed history of your character. Who are your parents? Are they alive? If not, what happened? Tell us what happened to character in their life so far.
Anju was the second born child of Somsri, a priestess on the Fire Nation island called Mothhaudh. Her mother was the xolab of the uialxolab, and as the second oldest offspring Anju was required to learn the skills needed to act as a xolab in the case of something happening to her older brother. From a very young age she was secluded from her normal life and taught about the spirits, both the major ones and the minor ones. Her family was very strict about her learning, and her time was closely regulated as a child. Niron, her older brother, was several years older than her and thus she was taught alone. Anju spent most of her time either reading about the history of the Mothguaith people, being lectured by her mother or learning to firebend. In that way she grew up, highly sheltered and isolated.

Anju soon grew angry and resentful about her treatment, and began to rebel, sneaking out of the temple alone, refusing to study, being rude to her parents. She found an old lady in the settlement of Eshelti who began to teach her herb lore, and other such things. She didn’t want to spend all her time learning what her parents wanted her to learn, and she didn’t care about family responsibility. To her, her family was way too uptight and they expected too much from her. This went on for several years, but Anju was unable to change the way her life was structured. Anju began to cultivate opinions that were the exact opposite of her families. Mothhaudh had long been separated from the Fire Nation, and were no longer loyal, so Anju became a devoted supporter of the Fire Nation, and Fire Lord. She search long and hard for books on other religious views and made a point of reading them and then disputing with her mother over their validity. She refused to accept the proper way of firebending that she was learning and created her own forms. All in all, she did what ever she could to be the opposite of her family whenever a situation arose.

Her bitterness festered and grew more and more, and she began to blame the spirits for her predicament. Hating them because hating her family got her nowhere and she needed someone or something to blame. Around this time the Fire Nation attacked. Anju managed to escape along with her family, but they ended up getting separated during the evacuation. Anju soon found herself alone in a Fire Nation port, with no one there to tell her what to do. Although she knew that she should be feeling sad about the loss of a home and her separation all she could feel was a sense of freedom, maybe the spirits were finally giving her something back? Since then she has wandered, unsure what to do but relishing in the choice.

6. What does your character like? Dislike?
Anju, like most teenagers, likes getting what she wants. And generally, she wants short term gratification. Taking risks because they're fun at the moment is something she enjoys doing, mostly because it used to annoy her mother but because she got so used to it, Anju takes risks almost without thinking now. She likes not being confronted, either intellectually or emotionally because she doesn't want to try and explain herself and her actions. She does enjoy confrontations of the physical sort because she can focus on just that and nothing else for however long it lasts. Anju likes nature, she can't stand to be cooped up inside for long amounts of time. She needs to feel the wind on her face and see green growth and bask in the sun. Which is partially due to the wild thrill it gives her, but also because it reassures her that she is free in some way. Anju likes moving fast-pace, she tries to fill her day with action and movement because when she stands idle it is hard not to begin thinking.

Anju dislikes many things, most of them are connected with authority or self-awareness. She hates thinking about herself, because she knows that she's careening off the right path, it is easier to try and ignore that than to fix it. Anju doesn't like people with authority, especially adults. She hates when someone has any modicum of control over her life or actions and uses it, and constantly rebels even if she risks bodily harm or other severe consequences. Anju cannot stand when someone insults her, she is too prideful to stand for it and usually gets into fights over an imagined slight against her honor.

7. What are some good traits of your character? Bad?
Anju is very determined, if there’s something she believes in, she believes it all the way, if there’s something she needs to do, she’ll do it no matter what or how long it takes her. She’s ambitious in her search for power, so that she can forever remain free. Anju is fierce and passionate about everything that she does. She’s self reliant and eager to try new things. Anju is also brave, in a stupid way. She doesn’t think about her wellbeing before doing something, many times getting injured in the process. There is no restraint, which is both bad and good. Anju doesn't try to hold back anything, if she feels something then it will not be hidden by any means, but she also has an inability to control herself when the situation calls for moderation.

Anju has many bad traits, foremost is her temperament. She is easily angered over anything and she cannot control her anger, outburst are not uncommon. She’s very decisive and quickly makes her opinions about people or things before waiting to really know them and she has several prejudices that she is so stubborn about no one could change her mind on them. She can be very disrespectful depending on the person. She easily falls into a state of bitterness and broods to herself, childishly feeling self pity over the smallest things. Anju doesn’t know when to keep her mouth shut, and many times will say things that she should have kept to herself, although this also results in her being much more honest than most.

8. Does your character bend? What level of training is your character at? Who taught your character?
Anju is a firebender. Her teacher was her mother, and she has been learning for most of her life. Anju is, even having been training for such a long time, only at an intermediate level. She enjoys twisting the normal forms her mother taught her into something else, all her own. And as such her firebending is slightly different from the normal form.

9. What does your character like doing? What do they not enjoy doing?
Anju likes to read, especially about the history of the world and about other people. She also enjoys reading philosophical books, even though she can never incorporate any of their teachings into her life. Anju loves to firebend, she practices whenever she can, and fights whenever she can. It’s freeing in its own way, and to Anju it seems like a way of venting her emotions. She likes collecting herbs and plants, and learning about other plants that are regional.

Anju does not like being forced to do anything, even if it’s for her own good. Anju hates having nothing to do, or being forced to wait for something to happen. She is prone to over thinking things while being forced to wait. Anju dislikes getting along with people if she doesn’t like them, and she doesn’t like holding in her emotions or thoughts. She doesn’t like being tied down, or any attempt to get rid of her freedom.

10. What or who is important to your character and why?
Anju’s freedom is the most important thing to her at the moment. She has only recently received it, and it has been something she yearned for, for so long. She will do anything, give up anything else, to keep it. Even though she’s stumbling because of her lack of experience, Anju willingly deals with her stumbles. If she can remain free, well than, it’s all worth it in her eyes.

The second thing that Anju holds close to her is her religion. She follows daily rituals and prayers, and she believes in the spirits profusely. No matter what someone says to her, she is unable to stop believing and no matter what she goes through, how bitter and angry she becomes, she still believes that they are there.

11. What or who is your character afraid of and why? What is your character’s greatest fear and why?
Anju has many deep set fears that she works hard at to ignore. She has a fear of being in small dark places, or being locked inside. This mostly stems from her childhood where she was unable to leave the temple and kept mostly to her room. She is afraid of losing her freedom and of not being able to get away from things. Sometimes she keeps her relationships purposefully unattached so that she can break them easily if she needs to run off, but that fear is also of the physical kind. She always needs a way out of things, if it's a window in a room or an insult that would get people to not care if she left. She has an instinctive fear of being small or weak, and of being overpowered by something.

Her true greatest fear though is facing herself. She is terrified of looking at herself and her actions, because she can't justify them and yet she can't stop. It seems worse to know there is something wrong, that you are deep down a bad person, that your way of living is wrong, and then to not be able to do anything about it. To have to live with that knowledge of being flawed.

12. What is your character’s goal(s) in life and why?
At the moment, Anju's goal is to get as far away from where she thinks her mother is and to never look back. She doesn't have any longterm goals since she doesn't think that far ahead. All Anju wants is to stay away from her mother and to experience new things.

Also in the profile is an elaborate description of her in story form. summed up: she's tall, has loose dark brown hair that goes slightly past her shoulders, has dark skin, light blue eyes, and large hands and feet. she wears a long blue skirt that goes to her knees, which goes over loose dark blue pants and large brown boots. she wears metal braces over fingerless gloves that go to her elbow, and also wears belt with a large Water Tribe Emblem. Last of all, is of course, her betrothal necklace given to her by her last husband.

5. Give a detailed history of your character. Who are your parents? Are they alive? If not, what happened? Tell us what happened to character in their life so far.
at 34, Tenoko is on her own, so the location of her parents is not something she keeps track of [since she's obviously no longer dependent on them]. They are most likely still alive, and would be middle aged tribespeople. The last time she heard from them, they had fled all the way across the globe from the Southern Water Tribe to the Northern Water Tribe. Tenoko also has an older sister, but she is believed to be dead, as it has been many years since anyone has heard from her. The family that Tenoko lost was her own: her husband and twin infant children. Killed in a Fire Nation raid nearly 16 years ago, the infants were never found, but with them as young as they were, they were unlikely to have survived.
If she is 34 now, and this event happened 16 years ago, it would put her date of having the children around 18. Tenoko was actually pregnant with her children 5 months before her marriage, as various circumstances has put her there. However, the man she married was luckily devoted enough to her that they married. Only a few months after this though, the raid occurred, taking the lives of Tenoko's husband and children.
Tenoko's waterbending prowess [for the first 18 years of her life] came from friends and teachers i the Southern Water Tribe, and a little self-instruction. After her departure from the Southern Water Tribe, the most she could learn apart from self-teaching was from the occasional nomadic waterbender such as herself, where tactics would be exchanged. other than that, she observed the tactics of other benders, such as earthbenders and firebenders, and so her waterbending skill is a bit unorthodox, much of it in her later years being taught to her by herself. She is also a decent Chi Healer, as she was able to get properly taught this [and only this] in the Northern Water Tribe, a place where she spent a year or two of her travels. All in all, Tenoko is skilled enough to be called a "master", having 34 years of experience under her belt. [and no, she's not a prodigy]

6. What does your character like? Dislike?
Tenoko is generally an easy-going woman with a general liking towards anything. she enjoys drinking and gambling, for she seems to have a streak of luck in her. These otherwise bad habits formed initially to take Tenoko's mind off of her dead family, but eventually just remained as habits. Them aside, she enjoys all around chit-chat, socializing with people, brawling [including bender battles, fist-fights, etc], hunting, and just doing her own thing. She also appreciates good humor. She dislikes talking about family considering that she lost hers so early into starting it, and therefore generally tries to avoid the subject. She obviously also dislikes the Fire Nation for their raid that took her husband and children [and possibly another attack that took the life of her older sister, but that was never confirmed], but having met some firebenders in her day, she knows that not all of them support the imperialistic plan of world domination, so her hatred is mostly just towards the Fire Nation Military. She also dislikes people who are too serious, and who do not appreciate humor.

7. What are some good traits of your character? Bad?
Tenoko is generally a friendly and positive person, able to make the best of a situation when things go bad. Her cheery attitude and sense of humor make it difficult to remain sad or angry around her. However, she also likes drinking and gambling, and her occasional arrogance when she [often] is "victorious" over someone in any form of competition is generally less than appealing. She's a talented bender though, and although she's not the prettiest woman out there, she's not ugly by any means either.

8. Does your character bend? What level of training is your character at? Who taught your character?

9. What does your character like doing? What do they not enjoy doing?
likes and dislikes of all types [including activities Tenoko likes and dislikes] were covered in answer 6. [of course, if this is still necessary, then I'll repeat them here.]

10. What or who is important to your character and why?
Though it has been a while sense she has seen them, Tenoko's parents, her closest last living relatives, mean a great deal to her. It is knowing that they are safe that keeps her content. The most important item in Tenoko's life is the betrothal necklace she wears, which is one of the only things belonging to her husband that she kept after his death. It was one of the only "sentimental" things he had given her in their short time together. Tenoko had never been really into material things and fancy expensive items, so she did not see his supposed "lack" of "getting her things" as bad.

11. What or who is your character afraid of and why? What is your character’s greatest fear and why?
Tenoko is generally a brave woman, but deep down, her greatest fear is a Fire Nation raid on the Northern Water Tribe, for she fears for the safety of her parents, especially as they are getting into their older years [they were in their early 20s when they gave birth to Tenoko's sister, and their late 20s upon having Tenoko, so they would be around their early 60s at this point].

12. What is your character’s goal(s) in life and why?
Tenoko's goal in life is ensure that she and her parents live to see the end of the war, so that she no longer has to worry for their safety, and will be able to know that they will die peacefully and happily in however many years when the time comes. She does not know the identity of the person or people responsible for the deaths of her husband and children, and so she is not "seeking revenge" from anyone.

anything left out, needed, what-not, just give me a holler.

Questions:
1. What is your character's name?

Shioji, Shijin

2. Where is your character from?
Earth Kingdom

3. What is your character's age?
14

4. What does your character look like?
Shijin stands at about five feet three inches tall with short black spiky hair with several bangs that go pass his eyes. Even though he was born and raised within the Earth Kingdom because of his father he has physical features of one from the Fire Nation with his bright yellow eyes, and pale skin. Despite his age Shijin's slim figure does has quite a bit of muscle on him from much training he has put himself through.

With a baggy pair of dark green pants, Shijin wears a cloth like sock on his feet leaving only his toes free so that bending will be easier for himself, for as an earth bender he would need to feel more connected to the earth. Over his torso he wears a black no sleeved shirt under a green robe that looks very similar to what the Dai Li wear, however unlike their robes he doesn't have the Earth Kingdom emblem on it, for that is one symbol he refuses to where. Around his forearms Shijin has jade wrapped around them from back when he was in Ba Sing Se, so that he can easily use them in battle. Finally, Shijin wears a necklace with the gem his mother had on her bracelet, with the kanji courage engraved into it

5. Give a detailed history of your character. Who are your parents? Are they alive? If not, what happened? Tell us what happened to character in their life so far.
Shijin was born in the Earth Kingdom, his father was a loyal, fire bender name Shioji Yin, and his mother was a earth bending, mercenary named Nahata Arrow. After Shijin was born his father had left back to the Fire Nation to help finish the war. Arrow never truly cared about which side won, after all she was a mercenary her loyalties went to those who would pay most. When Yin left, Arrow took Shijin and decided to live with her sister Mishu in her home village known as Hanagumi. It was a small village that has been fighting against the Fire Nation since the war had started. Through most of the year their warriors and benders fought against the Fire Nation in the Earth Kingdom army. Those who were injured always returned home. And at least once a month the soldiers always came to visit their friends, and family. Arrow knew this probably wasn't the best place to go back to seeing to the fact that her lover, was of the Fire Nation. The mercenary just hoped that no one in the village would ever find out. After all she knew there would be hardships to face if they figured out her secret. She knew the village hated any whom have involved themselves with the Fire Nation, however there was no other place to go. As a mercenary she has done nothing, but travel from village to village, never staying in any village for more than a week or so. Thus she had no real home to raise her new born son in. So if he must stay in this reached town then so be it.

For many months she has been able to keep her relationship with Yin a secret from her village, every so often she sent and received letters from Yin so that they would be able to keep in touch with one another. She has always felt lonesome when all the soldiers came to visit the village, while she could never see Yin. So the letters were her only way of communication. And it went well until one day seven months after she first started living in the village once more, Mishu had found several of the letters that Yin has been sending his wife, and son. She began to hate her sister for having a fire bender as a husband and hated her nephew even more for being a child of a fire bender. Although Arrow tried to get her sister to stay quite about it however there was no such luck, word about it spread through out the village. After hearing about it, the village began to hate her for 'betraying' the nation by bearing the child of a fire bender. Despite the hate Arrow chose to stay since she had no where else to go. The villagers did nothing to make her leave due to the fact that all there warriors were fighting against the fire nation and she was the strongest there.

As the years went by Shijin was shunned by the people in his village, not for who he was, but for who his father was, a fire bender. When Shijin was five he started getting into fights with other kids in the village. Everyday he would get into fights with either the other kids of the village When he was six once again he got into a fight and discovered he could use earth bending. His mother decided to teach him more bending if he stop getting into fights. He agreed and for a year she trained him teaching him the basics. When he was seven she fell sick, and by symptoms it was obvious that it was a sickness that has been haunting her for years, even before he was born, and not a single person from the village lifted a finger to help her. Shijin begged them to save her but they refused and let her die, for this he hated them even more than before.

A month later the village elder exiled him since now Arrow was no longer there to protect him. Shijin wanted to kill them all then and there, however he was too weak to take on any of them. After all he was just learning earth bending, and besides those basics he had no idea on how to really fight. Also the fact that the soldiers were visiting the village just made things worse for him. So without putting up any type of fight Shijin just did as the elder has said and left the village. The young boy having no idea where to go so he decided to just wonder and hope that he would get somewhere.

For a month Shijin traveled through out the Earth Kingdom just going place to place. However there was no place he could fine where he could be comfortable. Days at a time he would go starving due to the fact that he had no money for food, so he resorted to stealing. At first he wasn't very successful for he had been caught several times. And each time he was caught he was beaten for attempting to steal. Although there were some times where he was successful at it. However it wasn't enough. Part of him wished he could just live off the land and just get food from the forest and such however he was only 7. He didn't know anything about surviving on his own. He had always had his mother with him, and now because of this slagging nation he had nothing.

A month had passed since his banishment the young earth bender was sitting against the wall of a building between to homes, in some random village. His clothes were now nothing but rags, his body had buries all over his body from being beaten. And he was nothing but skin and bones from little food over the month. The young boy just sat down against the cold wall not knowing what else to do when he heard an explosion not to far from where he was at. After the explosion Shijin turned his head and watched as people of the village panic. He himself was a bit scared about what was going on however as he watched these people frighten, and running in complete panic. It brought him joy to see them all in such fear. The young boy covered his head in panic as he herd anther explosion this time much closer. Crawling out of the ally so he could see what was going on he looked toward where the explosion was. Yellow eyes watched as a single man came from the explosion.

The man was about 6' 5", had a muscular figure, and cold yellow eyes that were obviously were filled with hate, and yelling death. He wore lose fighting robes with the fire nation's colors a pond it. Shijin just stared at the man as he hid most of himself within the ally. Some people from the village went forward to try and take the man out. However the man easily deal with them as if they were nothing. Lighting another bomb the murderer threw the bomb in the middle of the village setting off another, bigger explosion. Everything began going on fire. Some of the villagers still tried to escape from death. However before any of the remaining could escape the man had killed them all with his blade. Shijin watched as he slaughtered each and every villager. The young boy admired the guy for being able to something that he could only wish he could do. Struggling to get himself up Shijin came out of hiding so he could get a better look at the man. The young earth bender just watched in the middle of burning buildings as he watched the murderer wipe his blade clean.

"You wish to die boy?" the man asked not having the need to turn around and face the child. Shijin just stood where he was in fear, true he was amazed at what the guy had done however he honestly didn't want to lose his own life in the proses of speaking with him. Taking in a deep breath the young boy spoke up asking if the guy could take him in as a student, Shijin wanted to learn how to fight, he wanted to learn how to kill, he wanted to destroy this nation. However the murderer dined him his request for he was nothing more than another Earth Kingdom citizen. The man would have killed the boy just like he had done with the rest of the people in the village, however seeing the pathetic condition he was in the boy wasn't even worth killing.

After drawing back his weapons the man he walked away, however Shijin wasn't going to let it go that easy. He needed to get stronger, and he felt that this man could help him. And if he were killed by him instead then at least he wouldn't continue living the horrid life he was living. With a deep breath Shijin raised his foot and stomped it on the ground hard bringing up a wall of earth in front of the fire nation soldier so that he could stop him from leaving. "Please..." the young earth bender begged, his breath hard, his body struggling to stand for his injuries were great. "Please I beg you to.... to teach me..." he stopped as the man ran up to him with great speed kicking the boy against a near by wall. Blood spitting out of the young boy's mouth as his body fell on to the cold hard ground. Shijin was able to feel the heat from the burning building against his back. The young boy pulled himself forward going onto his hands so he wouldn't be up against one of the many burning buildings.

"I already told you boy I'm not going to teach you so leave now and I'll spare your life," the man said coldly, anger entering his eyes as he watched the pathetic boy drag himself toward the soldier grabbing onto his leg. The soldier was actually shocked by the boy's will. Why the hell would any earth kingdom member beg one of the fire nation for lessons? Instead of drawing his blade he just looked down at Shijin as he struggled to look up.

"Please.. I beg you I hate this nation more than anything..." Shijin continued as he struggled to look up into the soldier's dark cold eyes. "I want to destroy this kingdom," the young boy once again coughed up blood, "No one in this nation deserves to live and I want to learn how to fight...... so I can kill them all with my bare hands." Unable to keep consciousness the young boy passed out his had dropping onto the ground with a thud.

When he regained conciseness Shijin felt a warm of a fire near him. The young boy thought that he had been felt in the village however turned out he was wrong, the minute he opened his eyes, he saw a fire not to far in front of him. And he seemed to be in a forest, Shijin began wondering what had happened since he passed out. When he looked at himself he found that his shirt had been removed, and that most of his injuries have been bandage. That was when he caught a figure coming from the darkness, eyes widen as he saw the murderer.

"Good your up," he said as he sat across the fire from the young boy, stabbing some fish he had caught with a stick and placed them over the fire neither of them saying anything for a while until finally the ma opened his mouth. "So child you have a name?" he asked as he watched the flames.

"Huh? Oh... uhh..." he stuttered at first at the odd breaking of the silence. "Shijin sir, Shijin Shioji."

"Jian," the soldier said quickly after Shijin said his name, "So who was taken from you boy?" A confused looked went on the young boy's face not understanding what he meant. "The kingdom must have taken someone from you, why else would you hate them? After all this is the nation of your birth yes?" Jian explained his question a bit after seeing Shijin's confusion. "Even if you have some features of a one from the fire nation," he added softly to a point where Shijin couldn't hear.

"My mom," Shijin replied softly with sad eyes that also showed hate. The young boy hated thinking about it however he was willing to answer the man. He looked up at the man who took one of the fish from the fire, a confused look going on his face as he looked at the smile that was on his face.

"I see, well start eating your going to need to be strong if your going to survive my training," Jian said with a smile as he took a bite out of the fish. A surprised look went on the young boy's face when he heard those words. The young boy bowed his head thanking Jian and grabbed a fish and started eating. For the next couple of months they did nothing but solid training. Jian not wanting to let the boy step into any village before he could fight a decent battle. It was in these months where Shijin learned to fight not with bending, but hand-to-hand combat and weaponry.

The day quickly turned into months and the months turned into years. Shijin continued spending all his time with Jian whether it be for training, or when he went to destroy villages. Although he always stood back and watched, Shijin had always went with him. As he trained he grew in strength, and at the same time growing feelings for the man making him think of the soldier more as a father than a sensei. As he trained with him his fighting style seemed more like those from the fire nation than those from the earth kingdom. When he had spare time Shijin tried practicing his bending so that he could add that to his fighting style. However he had no real teacher so he didn't know how to do it well. Life seemed to be wonderful for him.

However at the age of eleven things took a turn for the worse. One morning the sick solider had sent Shijin to get some water for he knew that there were several earth kingdom soldiers hiding not to far off. Once Shijin was out of site, and hearing he looked toward the forest with a cold look. ”Alright you can come out now!" he yelled to the people hiding within the trees. Four earth kingdom soldiers coming out glaring at the sick man.

”Who knew the retched Jian had a child,” one of the soldiers spat out with an arrogant voice, Jian had a reputation for hunting down Earth Kingdom citizens, but none knew of the boy that tagged along with him. The soldier probably would have been afraid if the man were in full health however in this state he was as helpless as a child. Although anger did go on his face when he noticed the fire nation soldier smirk.

”An apprentice,” Jian had corrected the soldier, ”And if you knew anything you would know that he is from this nation.”

”Thats a lie no-” Another soldier yelled in disbelief however was quickly interrupted as the captain of the group raised his hand signaling for the soldier to be silent.

”Well then, first we'll kill you then we'll get the boy,” the soldier said with a cold voice. Jian narrowing his eyes when he heard his say that. The sick man getting to his feet drawing out his blade. If he was going to be killed then he was going to make sure he would as least take the captain with him. The soldiers went at it for about a good 15 minutes until Jian's body begin to wear. They were about to make the finishing blow however Jian stabbed the captain in the heart, thus killing him right before his body gave out and collapsed on the ground.

And the moment his body hit the ground the other earth bender soldiers impaled him by stomping on the earth and bringing up spikes from the earth. “Got... him...” one soldier said tired, out of breath, and in pain. That was when the soldiers heard something drop. They all turned to see the young boy standing there with a look of horror on his face, a bottle of water on the ground spilling out.

”It's the boy,” another of the soldiers whispered all of them shifting toward him. ”Alright boy you can either come with up quietly you can end up like Jian here,” he told him in a cold, stern voice. Shijin may have been a child however he was a criminal as well. Also they all rather not fight after having a difficult encounter with Jian.

”Hes gone...” Shijin said randomly

”What?”

”He's dead...”

The soldiers looked at the boy with a confused look. All of them on guard as he came forward and passed them as if they didn't even exist. “He's gone...” he continued to mumble some more along with other things however there was little to no audio escaped his mouth. Tears were coming down his eyes as he sat besides the body of his sensei. The solders just staring at him, not really knowing what to do. Their captain was now dead, and they've never had to deal with a child before. That was one came close to the boy kneeling behind the boy.

”Look kid it had to be done, he is an assassin that-” the soldier said however was quickly interrupted when he felt a throbbing pain in his chest, a short sword going through his right lung that Shijin had picked up from next to his sensei. Blood spit out of the soldier's mouth as he tried gasping for air his body going limp. The young boy removed his new blade from the earth bender's chest as he stood up.

”So what if he's of the Fire Nation, you think the Earth Kingdom is any better?” he said coldly as he looked at the three of them with cold, devilish eyes that screamed death. The very same look Jain had gave them before he went down. Only difference was that there were tears in Shijin's eyes. The two soldiers fought with the young boy the battle only lasting for about five minutes before Shijin was able to finish off the two soldiers. However, even after killing them his hate wasn't satisfied. Once again the Earth Kingdom had taken someone important from him. And they were never going to be coming back. So that day he made an oath to help take down this nation. Not by joining the fire nation though, for he wanted to do things his way.

For the next several years of his life Shijin continued his training in becoming stronger. Even though he knew he wasn't ready he had gone on a couple of attacks in attack a village, not only to try an destroy, but to see how much he had grown in his training. At thirteen Shijin attempted destroying the Village of Mount Makapu, however was quickly stopped by the galgori known as Halaku. Figuring it would be best, Shijin decided to leave the village before any other fighters decided to join the fight. However his escape attempt was interrupted when the hunter's partner known as Jun came into the picture. After being taken down by their efforts, Halaku was about to kill him however June quickly stepped in. She had convinced Halaku that he would actually be a vaulble in their efforts to capture the Avatar then just plain killing him. Even though he disliked the idea of a bender fighting with him the galgori agreed to it, and Shijin swore his loyalty to him.

During his time with the hunt not only have they attacked the avatar but ended up gaining more members such as Yuan, Nanashi, Jiao, and Toph. They had even temperately had the banished prince Zuko and his uncle for a small amount of time before they left. They had have several attempt attack on the avatar all in which had failed because of one reason or another. They were out of commission for a while as well because of an injury Halaku had suffered. While he was injured the new leader of the hunt had made a deal with Azula and her friends in capturing the Avatar in Ba Sing Se. It started out simple using his and Toph earthbending to take hold of Long Feng's attention. The continue with the plan Azula taking hold of the Dai Lee, the Avatar and his friends coming into the city. However this ended up with betrayal, and death.

While trying to hold back the Dai Li along with Kenji that way the rest of the hunt escaped he was struck with a life threatening attack. Thankfully though he was able to continue on with his will power, however the fact that the cave they were was calapsing down didn't help. The cave had even taken the life of a few Dai Li. Determined not to be killed in such a way Shijin was able to protect not only himself but Kenji as well from the cave in despite his injuries. Knowing they wouldn't survive for long underground for long, Shijin used his bending to dig himself, and the unconscious Kenji, out of the ground coming up near the lower ring of Ba Sing Se several hours later. Hiding as soon as he could so that he couldn't be found.

He was able to steal the necessary bandages, and some medicine to help himself and Kenji, however things weren't looking for for Kenji, and if he couldn't find a doctor soon he knew Kenji would die. However he knew he couldn't go to a doctor there in the city since that would increase the likely hood of their being caught. After allowing himself a week to heal, despite the fire nation now controlling the city Shijin was able to escape with Kenji still with him escaping to a village not to far from the city with a group of other refugees who found a way to escape the city without being caught.

The instant he got to a village he quickly went to a doctor to have them look after Kenji, however it was to late by then and Kenji's injuries were too serious to treat. Not to long later the hunter passed on. Shijin hated himself for not being able to help him, though Kenji may have been a bender hunter he was still a conrad. He couldn't help but blame himself some times due to the fact that he didn't leave the city sooner than what he did, however there was nothing he could do at the time nor could he do anything now. He was now separated from the hunt he had sworn his loyalties to with no way of finding them, and still suffers from the injuries he had received back. So now he continues to wait in the village until he is at full strength again to continue his training and going back toward his first goal. Destroying the Earth Kingdom. And despite the events that happened in Ba Sing Se he can't help but feel some joy in it's down fall.

6. What does your character like? Dislike?
Shijin is a lover of fighting, mainly because of his violent nature. Another thing he finds somewhat enjoyable despite others thinking it sick is that he actually enjoys the suffering of those of the Earth Kingdom. He could hear any sob story from any earth nation scum and smile about it for in his mind they're getting exactly what they deserve. As for his dislikes would be underestimated just because of his age. He also doesn't enjoy being around too many people from the earth kingdom at one time which is why he usually avoids sleeping out in villages when he can.
[/color]
7. What are some good traits of your character? Bad?
Shijin has a very good memory and can remember the details of just about anything even if he only has a moment to take everything in. Whenever he is told something he will remember every word that was said, he usually uses this to remember movement that he could use in battle. However, even if he usues it to remember bending moves, but Shijin lacks the talent to actually preform them. Another trait of his would be his sense of loyalty. If he gives someone his word, he will preform the task so long as he sees them worth giving his loyalties to. One serious bad trait would be his anger issues. True, he can easily control it when he isn't around Earth Nation scum, however when he is he will snap out at them even if it's just a simple conversation.

8. Does your character bend? What level of training is your character at? Who taught your character?
Yes, Shijin can earth bend, however despite this gift he has no real talent in bending. Back when he was younger his mother had taught him the basics about using his bending, however she never got further than this. For the next several years of his life he did nothing but self train when he wasn't physically training himself. Though due to his little talents he lacked the ability to get very far in his training. That was until Jiao began training him, she may have been a galgori, but she specialized with killing earth benders and it was from her knowledge he was able to gain more experience in his bending skills rasing them to about an intermediate level.

9. What does your character like doing? What do they not enjoy doing?
Outside of fighting Shijin gains much joy in ticking people off with sarcastic remarks, and insults not even caring what they might do after the remark. He also enjoys spending his free time training in order to make himself stronger. As for his hates it would be trying to be 'nice' to those of his nation, he can barely stand the idea of it let alone actually doing it, then there is also his pride which makes losing in a fight that much hard for him.
[/color]
10. What or who is important to your character and why?
There is one very important thing to Shijin and this would be his vow to his mother, as well as his teacher, that he would help desory the Earth Kingdom. He had made this vow when he was young and had sworn when they had taken them both from his life, and is willing to do anything in his power to see it through, or die trying.

11. What or who is your character afraid of and why? What is your character’s greatest fear and why?
To any one who knows Shijin, to them he would seem like fearless kid. Nothing small ever really gets to him such as hights, or bugs. Even when faced with death Shijin will welcome it if he knows theres no other way to survive. For he is not the type to just give up and be killed. However the one thing he would fear is losing someone close. The two people he cared for the most had been killed and there was nothing he could do about it so when another he is close is near death he would try to save them despite the odds because he can't handle another loss.

12. What is your character’s goal in life and why?
Shijin's singal goal in life is to help bring the end of the earth kingdom. Although it seems like a foolish goal on his own he doesn't really seem to care on how unlikely the idea seems with the war going on he hopes that it will happen one day, and does his best to help it along. The reason being is because of the vow he gave both his mother, and sensei the day they were killed by the fault of those of his nation.

Tenoko - Just one minor thing: In the history, the first sentence is not capitalized. That's minor, though. :) Good job.

Nuan - Good job.

ugh... I really need to work on that capitalization thing... it's gonna really kill me on this forum. What kind of consequences are there for consistent forgetting and lack of checking for that sort of thing? 'coz I tend to do it a lot... =(

But alright... I think I might be able to get my free-form exemption up soon. I really hope there's not a deadline for it, otherwise I'd be doomed. =P

It was a minor thing, Tenoko. I know you're trying. Next time, though, unless it's directly related to this thread, please reply via PM, not in post. Thanks. (Please excuse under 300 character post.)

I'll keep it short because who wants a novel when the point is to summarize? Even if you do, I'm lazy. Sorry. D:

Questions:
1. What is your character's name?

Seven Winds and Shattered Sand - his given name is Lu Shao but he had since forsaken it for a name with more meaning to him. It's meaning is relevant to his history and future - Shattered Sand symbolizes the way he has fallen from what he sought and instead spent time in the desert unraveling and destroying instead of creating and protecting. Seven Winds symbolizes his self-abided tenets of life and goodness that he practices, as well as his journey to seek purpose which may be described in another question.

2. Where is your character from?

He's from the Northern mountains in the Earth Kingdom, and to be more precise he was born in an at-the-time peaceful sinkhole civilization called Chiaroscuro. It's name reflects its recent fate, and that is conflict and chaos. He abandoned Chiaroscuro and settled down in the South, the deserts, living in caves and inns with whatever crew he was rolling with. It's an amusing polarization here, to go from the cold highlands to the deserts. It symbolizes his change of heart and his maturing to become someone different. Now both Chiaroscuro and the desert don't satisfy him so he's no longer living in either.

3. What is your character's age?

I was going to go with thirty-five but the rp circle I want to play with is mostly young (like seventeen) and I don't want to be twice their age and feel like an old geezer taking care of some kids. So, I redid his character concept to fit him being young and settled on twenty-four. It means he's been a man for a long time so it accommodates for his years of time out of Chiaroscuro.

4. What does your character look like?

I could copy and paste my appearance section but that's lazy, so I'll give a brief summary. He's six feet tall, he keeps his hair shaved to give him that disciplined look, he has a commanding appearance meaning he stands out and looks intense, passionate. I also intentionally clarified that it is easy to read his emotions, because he is a person who has nothing to hide and so his face and his mind don't travel different roads. He wears raggy linen clothing from the desert and sometimes a wide sunguard on his head to keep the sun off his face. Also wears one of those cool looking shawl things that desert-folk wear. I got the idea from Geng Kai's original getup. He's also bare-foot - not really because of Toph, more because he's a martial artist and I can't imagine someone who spent time in a monastery-type place learning martial arts liking shoes very much. His appearance is one of things that came AFTER his history mentally, and was shaped by it.

Oh, and he's buff. Trained in martial arts and is an Earthbender. What'd you expect, a slender boy or a fatty?

5. Give a detailed history of your character. Who are your parents? Are they alive? If not, what happened? Tell us what happened to character in their life so far.

I'll do the same thing as above. I didn't flesh out his parents much because I figure I want to leave them open-ended so I can use them for stuff later if I decided to make them important. So, sorry if this is a bad quality but they're actually undeveloped and purposely so. I figure they'll be either dead or just not in contact, but I can't do much to describe them if I haven't developed them. Now, the character spent his childhood training to be a monk in some sort of order that was devoted to the spirits, but obviously not in contact with them since that's an Avatar only thing. The closest they come to communing with spirits is one of those things that you can't really say is real for sure, like a psychic in real life.

Anyways, being a monk means you learn to be disciplined, to give yourself to the spirits, and to practice martial arts supposedly passed down from the spirits themselves. Could it be true? It's a myyyysterryyyy, woooooh. Anyways, at around sixteen the monastery that he was raised and trained in (away from his family) was taken over by a faction from the 'other side' of Chiaroscuro so to speak. So, the sect he was in broke up and his world sort of lost direction. He thinks the spirits want him to seek the outside world, but he didn't have very good guidance so he ended up in the deserts becoming a bandit. I didn't much flesh out HOW he joined a bandit clan but I figured his knack for fighting, his confidence, and his assertiveness netted him some respect so he could had easily found his way in. I figure I can leave this for a future rp plot, that's why it too is open-ended. You know, like uniting with his prior buddies in bandit land? But I digress, now he's all ashamed about being a bandit and went off to fight the Fire Nation thinking it would please the spirits.

6. What does your character like? Dislike?

He likes honorable conduct and dislikes a lack of it - by that I mean he hates seeing people being abused. It's why he didn't stick with the bandits forever - they had SOME degree of honor since they were more territorial than murderous but his morals eventually drove him to seek a new path. So, he doesn't necessarily hate thievery, he thinks it's a living that has its own challenges and rewards and therefore is viable pursuit in life. However, he hates things like abuse and blackmail. In terms of more superficial things, I guess you could say he dislikes shoes and sleeves and likes working out and high-protein food.

9. What does your character like doing? What do they not enjoy doing?

Well, this question could be answered a lot like the last. He likes to fight for the whole adrenaline of it, but he doesn't like actual chaos and desire to kill - fighting and struggling is part of life, but aggression, hate, he could do without it. He likes to keep in shape because it was bred into him and is part of his genetics, that's why he's so stacked.

7. What are some good traits of your character? Bad?

CALL HIM A MARY SUE but he has a lot of good qualities. Sure he's a bit reckless and has his faults, but he's mostly a kind, just, and honorable man. He defends the weak like a super hero, he fights evil, he doesn't mean to hurt anybody unless it is a way of conveying an important message. But give it time and the flaws will grow and flesh out, every hero falls from grace and hopefully redeems himself.

8. Does your character bend? What level of training is your character at? Who taught your character?

Seven Winds is an earthbender, and he's pretty damn good. I made him to be a strong character because he seems like the type of guy who would get in a lot of fights - not so much because he looks for them as he does things put him in the position a lot. However, it's not because he's done a lot of real fighting that he's a powerful fighter and a skilled bender - it's because he's had training that few people in the Avatar world get. First of all, he was tutored day and night and lived only for growing and becoming closer to the spirits, and the folks that trained him believed the way to become closest to the spirits was through mastery of the elements - in this case, earth. So, he was trained by some great benders, and disciplined at a young age so his mind was open to quicker learning. The young mind is like putty. No, a sponge!

Anyways, so he learned a lot of martial arts and that helps his case, because 1) he can use it when fighting hand-to-hand and 2) he can blend it with bending since bending in and of itself seems to be a martial art style specific to the element. The REAL big thing that makes him a tough customer in the bending department for his age, however, is the whole chakra thing - since the people who trained and raised him were spiritual gurus, he has good control over his chakra flow and can use his powers freely. Of course, he's not a MASTER of it yet as you have to be an old, bearded, emaciated Indian man to fit that bill - however, I imagine having your chakra cleared and bending is like doing a long detox diet and then working out. The world feels lighter, bending is easier, feats of strength are commonly performed.

So yeah, I looked at Seven Winds and Shattered Sand as a skilled bender because he has had good training from youth, is well-rounded, and knows exercises that make his chakras flow better. Since he spent time in the desert he got used to sandbending, since some of the other bandits were sandbenders that taught him the basics and, again, he's got the soul and the chakra for it. Obviously getting so used to loose and rampant sand had him rusty at real earthbending with stones and whatnot. And no, he doesn't and never will bend metal. He's not blind, he can't detect and tame the weaknesses of refined Earth. MAYBE SOMEDAY HE CAN BEND METAL AND LIGHTNING AND THE SKY, YEAH?! HERP DERP.

10. What or who is important to your character and why?

The spirits are important to my character right now, because it was bred into him and he thinks the spirits are protectors of the world - no, they ARE the world. So he thinks, at least. Really, this question isn't fun for me since I designed him to be clean slate, he'll have people and things important to him as rp leads him to into it.

11. What or who is your character afraid of and why? What is your character’s greatest fear and why?

My character is always afraid he will wage war and become like the Fire Nation, he senses much uncertainty and aggression in himself. He also fears the spirits being harmed, ruined, or ensnared or something due to the world and its waning balance. You could say the former of these two, falling victim to evil or savagery, is his greatest fear - except of course the POSSIBILITY OF NOT HAVING HIS PROFILE ACCEPTED! OH NOOO.

12. What is your character’s goal(s) in life and why?

For now, his goal is to stop the Fire Nation. He doesn't want to DESTROY it, he just wants them to stop this senseless war so that peace can be maintained again and balance will be restored. He thinks the war has agitated the spirits and in their agitation has conflict and the shadow of war come over Chiaroscuro. So, he has his motivation. I think later, when he learns of the Avatars exploits (if such an opportunity comes, I'm not trying to be one of those "I KNEW THE CANONS" type of people) he will devote himself to making sure the Avatar does not falter and fulfills his destiny and whatnot. Well, that all depends if I ever end up role playing with the Avatar, I'm not exactly expecting it so don't get it twisted. Don't get worried, I mean.

1. What is your character's name? Hakurai, Raikou
2. Where is your character from? Fire Nation Capital, Lived in a house near the Palace.
3. What is your character's age? Eighteen
4. What does your character look like?

Hair: Black
Eyes: Orange
Build: Slim, muscular
Height: 6' 2"
Weight: 157 lbs

Raikou has a cut on his left eyebrow that he gained when being mugged in the outskirts of the Fire Nation's Capital. His black, matted hair covers it, however, he is always reminded how he was forced to take life. A small section of his hair is braided on the right side of his face and falls down to his jaw passing in front of the ear. It is tied at the end by a small orange tie. His face is usually stern and harsh, broken by the years of rage and anger he has endured. He has a burn on his right shoulder from his father, reminding him of how everything he had once known had been a lie... Everything but his mother's love... And he hadn't even experienced that... He didn't even know what she looked like...

He wears a black shirt trimmed with dark red on the selves and the edges. It has a lighter black color sewn in the pattern of flames rising up to his shoulders. His pants are black which are tucked into black sandals that allows the toes to peek through while shielding them from the ground. He wears his mother's bracelet. It is a sleek silver and wraps around his right wrist like a beautiful dancing dragon. It is one inch wide and bears a single blazing ruby at its center. Around the ruby are the engravings of a dragon and a phoenix. The dragon's mouth is open in a silent roar of rage and passion, the phoenix's head bowed in a silent sob, whose tears drop down to purify the stone. It is precious to him and is the last thing of his mother's he owns. He wears a Naginata on his back with a light brown cloth covering the blade when he isn't using it. The Cloth is held down by a loosely tied knot that easily allows the cloth to come off with a simple tug.

The Naginata itself has a long, black pole that stretches for 5 feet. It is wood wrapped with a layer of steel about a centimeter under the wood. The one foot long curved blade of the Naginata opens like a dragon's mouth, gaping, about to stab out at its prey with its twisting tongue. The tongue is but three prongs, twisting around one another about an inch apart from each. When twisted into its enemy, it grips them and is difficult to get out without tears and rips. When not being used, Raikou carries it on his back, the blade up in the air with only a simple, brown cloth covering the obviously Fire Nation blade.

5. Give a detailed history of your character. (Note the word detailed). Who are your parents? Are they alive? If not, what happened? Tell us what happened to character in their life so far.

Raikou was born in the Fire Nation. Born to a man serving under the Fire Lord as one of the Generals of his army, he was brought up believing everything he was told. As the breath of life was given to him, it left his mother, leaving him with only his absent father to raise him. In her dying moments, she gave the babe her bracelet. Growing up, Raikou would always wear it wherever he went, the stone reminding him of his mother's love for him, even in death. Even so, he was still the son of a General, and the boy grew up believing that the war was good, that the nations would fall and a new world order would one day arise in their places as a phoenix would from smoldering ashes. His father told him that the Fire Nation was struggling in the war, the other nation's retaliations strong and stead fast against the advancing firebenders. He heard stories of innocent Fire Nation men and women slaughtered at the hands of the Water Tribe and Earth Kingdom, and that only proved to him what scum they were. Relating his own mother's death to those who were suffering in those places, the hate his mother never wanted him to know grew and grew to the point that he blamed the other nations for his mother's death.

At the age of twelve he started learning to bend fire. He grew more and more proficient at it, controlling his breath, learning to channel his rage against the other nations into each strike. Being a Nobel, he was also required to learn the use of a martial weapon. When he turned thirteen, the first of many outlining his teenage years, he began to study and excel in the art of the Spear. Favoring the Naginata, he quickly progressed, impressing his master and proving his worth to his father. As his training progressed, his hatred in the other nations deepened and only strengthened the nation's iron hold on him. One day, his father gave him a ring. It was gold and bore the fire nation insignia on it. His father praised him as a hero of the Fire Nation, a General in the making as proficient in the planning of wars as he was in fighting them. This was only further proof to the boy that he was on the right track, that he was fulfilling his destiny to end the struggle of a war. However, such fantasies of 'world domination' and 'playing hero' would not last forever...

One day, the boy overheard his father talking with another of the Generals. They were talking of war, what casualties either side were causing. However... it was then he learned the truth. The Fire Nation was more than strong enough to overpower the other nations easily causing massive casualties while retaining minimal to their own ranks. Then, the subject of the 'Fire Nation families getting massacred' by the other nations came up and the two Generals had themselves a good laugh, saying anyone who believed that was either an idiot or just plain ignorant. At this, Raikou had heard enough. The other countries weren't slaughtering them... the Fire Nation was slaughtering the other countries. Coming forth from the shadows, he openly defied his father in front of the other General, losing his control and self-discipline. Angry with his own son and unable to control himself in the face of such humiliation, the man blasted Raikou's shoulder, causing it to scar from severe burns. Raikou can't remember what happened next as he turned and ran away from the man, however, he remembers what happened several hours later. As night fell across the land, he ran from his home near the Fire Lord's Palace. He was almost immediately found out somehow and search parties were sent after him to bring him back. But it was too late. None were able to find him. Hiding in a river with only a straw reed connecting him with vital air, he made his way to the delta and surfaced to enter the port town.

The confusion running rampant in him left him with no skill in his once grand prowess of fire bending, the anger being replaced with confusion beyond anything he had ever faced before. he was forced to fight with only the Naginata his master had given him. It was hard, and he was almost captured, however, he defeated a group and ducked below the royal guard that had come to the village having heard of Raikou's presence. Raikou found a ship and asked to be taken across to the Earth Kingdom, but found he had no money. Taking off the ring his father had given him, he used that as payment for the boat to leave immediately to the distant lands, where the fire nation wouldn't reach him.

Nowhere to call home and only an empty feeling of regret mulling around inside him, Raikou let his feet carry him to wherever. He found himself climbing mountains, traversing great plains, resting in outlaying villages and camping outside. Night after night, day after day, his inner turmoil only grew more and more as he saw the results of what his nation was doing. It was then the boy reached the Earth Kingdom's Ba Sing Se...

And that is where this story begins...

6. What does your character like? Dislke?

Raikou likes learning and playing Pai Sho. He's actually really good at it and even beats the other generals at it. He used to struggle against them, however, his dad always sending those who were off duty to his house nearby the Royal Palace, Raikou excelled at Military Strategy. His favorite food would have to be rice. It may be bland at first, but when he puts on Karai, a really spicy sauce he invented himself, it gives it just the right amount of kick! He dislikes house chores and homework, however, knows that it's important if he is to follow in his father's footsteps. He doesn't like tea either, it's too strong for him. Give him spicy food over tea anyday!

7. What are some good traits of your character? Bad?

I wouldn't call them 'good 'or 'bad' traits... they are what makes him who he is. He is very much honor bound. He is loyal, however, the question of who he is loyal to is shattered. He is confused and can see both sides of the coin. If he goes against his morals, he will be helping his home land and following one set of morals he was taught. By helping the other nations he would be fulfilling another set of morals he has while abandoning the other. His choices are based on his morals, however, his morals are now so conflicting that his choices are hesitant.

8. Does your character bend? What level of training is your character at? Who taught your character?

*see history*

As far as who taught him, it was a mixture of his father, other generals in the fire nation army, and a grandmaster hand picked to train all the general's sons and daughters in a class to uphold their family's honor. They went over Fire Nation military tactics, basic defences, offensives, and were even permitted control of a squad of twenty firebenders each for scrimages in a 'capture the flag' like setting. The same master taught him hand to hand martial arts and how to wield the Naginata.

9. What does your character like doing? What do they not enjoy doing?

*described in likes dislikes*

10. What or who is important to your character?

*explained in history*[/size]

11. What or who is your character afraid of and why? What is your character’s greatest fear and why?

My character isn't afraid of much, however, he is afraid of inifity. A good example of this is outer space. When you are in such a vast area that expands into infinity, you get the feeling of being so small, so tiny compaired to everything going on around you. When you start thinking about it, you realize that this isn't even everything there is to see, that if you kept going further and further out into infinity, you would find that there is so much more... that there is so much out there that the human mind can't handle. This type of fear is based on everything, and nothing at the same time.

The previous fear leads inevitably to this next fear. Infinite Improbability (lol, couldn't restrain myself from the 'Hitch Hikers' referance :P). This is the possibility of something happening and the probability that it will happen. Raikou's fear is based off the predicting the future to the best of one's abilities and all the probable outcomes that their actions might lead to. He is afraid of what might come to be that he doesn't want happening. This hadn't been a fear of his until he ran away from the Fire Nation. He didn't have the fear because he knew what was going to happen and he was secure in the knowledge that what he was doing was right and there was no way to stop it. Now, he realizes just what he was supporting... he sees the monster he had been feeding with his own talents and sees what a waste it would be if such a possibility were to become a reality.

This last fear is most practical of them all. The fear of not doing the right thing. He is afraid that his actions might not be the right ones. That by becoming traitor, he has doomed himself to never be welcome in his home again. However, by staying Fire Nation, he would feel like he was the monster taking away the little boy's mother, forcing him to live without such a vital role in his life.

12. What is your character’s goal(s) in life and why?

At first, his goal was to become like his father. He was training to rid the world of anti-fire nation groups and factions. He was training to become the hero the Fire Nation needed. But now, he knows all of that was only a lie. Right now, he doesn't have any goals because he doesn't know what to do. I guess his only goal right now is to survive and to make sense of everything that is happening...

characterrons:
1. What is your character's name?[/b]
Hazumu

2. Where is your character from?
Hazumu is from the Fire Nation Capital

3. What is your character's age?
19

4. What does your character look like?
Hazumu stands at Five Feet nine inches with dark black hair that falls just below his ears. His bangs also fall past his eyes hiding part of his very average looking facial features and golden orange eyes. Hazumu while wearing his red short sleeve shirt with fire nation's insignia on it and long sleeve black shirt, with orange fire symbols on the back looks skinny and unimposing but once he removes his shirt he reveals a rather toned body that reflects the years of training he has endured. His pants and shoes are unimpressive and look normal with the exception of being dyed black. When in the fire nation he also wears a dark brown cloak to hide his fire nation insignia and keep the sands at bay. Finally he wears his sister's golden bracelet around his left arm.

5. Give a detailed history of your character. Who are your parents? Are they alive? If not, what happened? Tell us what happened to character in their life so far.
Hazumu was born in the Fire Nation Capital to a male fire bender named Jushiro and a female non-bender named Nanako. Hazumu's parents ran a local weapons shop and were one of the most well off families in the city. Hazumu is the second child of his family with his Sister Rei being one year older than him. Rei was quite a talented fire bender and had a sense of being better than Hazumu. Hazumu did not care that he was not a bender and did not care about his sister upstaging him. Rei did decide to torment Hazumu however. From busting open his lunch bag to tripping him in the hall Rei never ignored a chance to embarrass her brother. To Rei's annoyance Hazumu never seemed to get angry or care whatever she did.

All of this bullying did cause Hazumu to realize that he was rather weak and always got pushed around. By the time he was ten years old he decided to start training his body and his accuracy with ranged weapons. As he trained over the years he went from being a novice to becoming excellent at using his fists and feet as weapons and wasn't too bad at acrobatics either. He did not like ranged weapons as much but was proficient none the less. He only used smoke pellets as his weapons. Hazumu also trained his body to take blows and keep on fighting.

When Hazumu was sixteen a tragic event occurred in his life. It all started like a normal day. His training for the day was complete and he came home to relax. Hazumu was lying down on his red embroidered couch when he heard voices outside. Hazumu was not usually one to eavesdrop but this was one chance that he could not resist. Hazumu stepped out his window and grabbed on to a drainage pipe hanging outside. He saw a man with a mask that he had never seen and the could not see the face of the other figure but it was obviously female from the way she moved. Hazumu could barley hear them so he got closer until he was within earshot. He heard only one sentence but that was enough to traumatize him for a lifetime. He only heard,"I'm going to kill Jushiro and Nanako!" Hazumu couldn't believe his ears and quietly snuck back into his room and collapsed on his couch. He couldn't believe what he had just heard. Just hearing that his parents were going to be killed was bad enough but the voice that said it was even worse. It was the voice of his sister Rei.

He knew that Rei was going to kill his parents but did not know when or where. Hazumu did not know what to do and over the days became extremely stressed. A week after he heard his sisters plan he came home to find his parents both on the floor dead. Rei was standing in the corner just looking at Hazumu. Hazumu grabbed Rei by the collar of her shirt and yelled," WHY!!!!!!". She responded by saying, " The Fire Nation are monsters! Using fear to bring control to the Fire Lord. I needed to kill our parents, they were supplying weapons to the Fire lord so he can kill." Hazumu only said," I am loyal to the Fire Nation forever" Hazumu who let anger slide off him could do so no longer and felt an intense range over take him. He felt his blood boil and his anger swell. He looked up and saw his sister, the next thing he knew he saw his sister on the ground with a fatal wound. Hazumu had lashed out at her out of anger with his fist and killed her. He let out a blood-lust roar of sadness and anger.

Hazumu knew that he could not stay in the fire nation and quickly escaped on his families ship. Surprisingly he was not blamed for his families murder and his sister was. Hazumu fled to the Earth Kingdom and found a lonely canyon with a small lake next to it in the middle of the desert. Hazumu journeyed all over the earth kingdom for three years eventually picking up the job of bounty hunting and became quite good brining in vicious criminals from all over the earth kingdom. Most recently he has found a wanted poster for the avatar and is thinking about the possibility of pursuing the avatar.

6. What does your character like? Dislike?
Hazumu likes bounty hunting. Its his life passion and gets a rush whenever he goes out to track and fight a dangerous criminal. He also enjoys training and improving his skills. Hazumu is also a very fond lover of animals and hates it when animals are mistreated no matter how small or insignificant. Hazumu's favorite animal is the Shirshu having and befriended a wild one in the southern earth kingdom. Hazumu also enjoys relaxing and playing Pai Sho.

If there is anything Hazumu hates it is cruelty to animals. The one other thing that Hazumu hates is when he is made fun of.

7. What are some good traits of your character? Bad?
Hazumu is loyal and hardworking. Whenever it comes to his training or his job bounty hunting he always does his best and never backs down after he has accepted a job. Hazumu is also pretty smart, not genius or even close but when fighting his intelligence makes him quite unpredictable. His traits for friendship once forged are very good. He will remain faithful to his friends forever and will do anything to protect them but only after they have his trust. His affinity with animals is also a trait he picked up after becoming so close to them.

His bad traits are that he very seldom lets people get close to him and he is a loner for the most part and keeps people at a distance so they don't hurt him. His other bad trait is his intense rage that he gets after being made fun or getting very frustrated in a fight or otherwise.

8. Does your character bend? What level of training is your character at? Who taught your character?
Hazumu was born a non-bender and only fights with his hands and feet with the exception of small smoke pellets. Hazumu is all self trained having spent the last nine years honing his body and his skills. Hazumu uses his own style of martial arts which is a mix of different forms. His stance and favored stance in rooted in the Leopard Stance and form. He also puts acrobatics into his styles of combat.

9. What or who is important to your character and why?
Now that Hazumu's parents have died and so has his sister he has no family left for him to care for and being a loner he has few friends that he has made. The one important thing to him in Bounty Hunting and protecting the animals of the Earth Kingdom.

10. What or who is your character afraid of and why? What is your character’s greatest fear and why?
Hazumu has only a few fears. Hazumu is terrified by the Canyon Crawlers of the Earth kingdom and the other insect like creatures of the world. He will defend them but is still afraid of them. This fear has no real basis as he has never had a bad encounter with the insect like animals. They simply just scare him by the way they look. Other than this there is one other fear he has. He fears that he will never find the love of his life, and the small chance that no one is out there for him but he keeps that only to himself.

11. What is your character’s goal(s) in life and why?
Hazumu has the goal of becoming the best bounty hunter in the entire world. Its his life passion and true calling but he doesn't want to seem like just a thug, he want to become an honorable bounty hunter that is respected for ridding the world of dangerous criminals. Another of his goals is to run an Earth Kingdom Ranch for animals that rivals the zoo's at the great city of Ba Sing Se
