Plot Update 10 March 2021

A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

If, I could just make a hypothesis, I say the episode off of TurboNick too, but while I was watching it it made me think about something. It sounds like the Dai Lee don't want the Earth King to know about the Avatar being here. I may be wrong but it sounded like the Dai Lee are not what the Earth King approved of. It almost sounded like all of this is not right, it is almost like they are with the Fire Nation. (Now, I know I'm way wrong, I don't know why I even thought about that?) Though that episode was great overall.

Yeah I was thinking something along the lines of 'I don't think the King likes this' because they were talking about the king in one of the scenes, perhaps they will take him out and put Long Feng up there. Wonder what will happen to Zuko and Iroh, a little sad that the Blue Spirit will most likely never be seen.

And good news Jet was incredibly wounded hope he died. Though Katara should have beat him up and now Toph is our lie detector.

Dai Lee was slaughtered by Toph... Long Feng was slaughtered by Appa ((Lol))... Toph could beat up Long Feng... Toph insulted Sokka... Toph made fun of herself... Katara attacked Jet... Army of Ju Dee ((WTF LOL))... Zuko owned Dai Lee... Hmmm.... They found Appa.... I'm soo glad. Do you think they are going to leave Ba Sing Se now?

it only plays to the point where katara says, "Jet's back." is the video only that long or is there something I have to do to make it work? can someone help me out here?

edit: nevermind. its working for me now! ya!

double edit: nevermind. its screwed up again!

triple edit: o, i found the "Full Length" episode

edit #4: why did longshot string an arrow to his bow? are they going to kill Jet so he won't have to suffer?and wasn't katara trained a little bit by the northern water tribe healer? cant she heal jet?

and i saw two examples of foreshadowing: Example A: Toph went with Sokka to hang up posters. (meaning they'll be together forever, my opinion)
Example B: Zuko frees Appa and throws away the Blue Spirit mask. (meaning that he is going to live a straight life and join Aang and teach him firebending)

I don't think they will leave Ba Sing Se yet they want to speak with the King so that they can amass an army to strike the FIre Nation when the eclispse occurs. So until then i am expecting a huge battle in the castle as they struggle to reach the King.

My new favorite line: 'Hello I am Ju Dee and welcome to Ba Sing Se'

I am starting to like the whole Ba Sing Se idea nothing like a large brainwashing facility under a lake.

The King has invited you to Lake Laogai.

here are my reasons why they WON'T stay in Ba Sing Se:

reason #1: the king is a figurehead. Long Fe was the one they needed to tell, but he wouldn't listen to them. themn could try to find the general they met on the wall.

reason #2: they have Appa now, so they'll probably leave to train. and to see the Guru in the northeast air temple.

reason #3: The Dai Lee want to KILL THEM! KILL THEM! that's like Osama Bin Laden moving to the U.S. with everyone knowing where he lives.

Hey Xia-di I have a reason why they won't leave Ba Sing Se. Since, It looks like Long Feng was trying to keep the Avatar hiden from the Earth King and this whole "Hello, I'm Ju Dee and welcome to Ba Sing Se!" brainwash thing sounds like it was never allowed or approved by the King. If this is true Aang will want to talk to the King and tell them about this conspirence. Though I see them leaving after they have at least past this information to him. I just thought of this too, why would they hide Appa if the Avatar was looking for him? Plus back at the party, remember when they brought the King in and he was covered by a vail that was similar to the one Azula had, he might not have even seen the Avatar, all he heard was "Hello, your magesty!" Which makes me think that the invitation to see the Earth King is not being processe at all. Again, I could be dead wrong.

Xia-Di: Erhmmm... They have to stay in Ba Sing Se... the next episode is called The Earth King. but the episode after that is called The Guru which I think is the monk guy that Appa saw in episode Appa's Lost Days

Shio: Gotta love that line. Toph was mad funny in that episode too.
Situation #1:
Aang: I'm not going to wait for bla bla bla
Toph: YAH LET'S BREAK SOME RULES!!!
((Bashes hole in wall))

Situation #2
Sokka: If we spread out we can cover more ground for the posters. Toph you should just come with me
Toph: Why? Cuz you think I can't put up posters?
((Takes glue brush swipes it at wall and puts on poster with picture facing the wall...))
Toph: It's upside down isn't it... I'll just go with Sokka.

Situation #3
Katara and Aang come in,
Katara: We found a printer to make our Appa posters!
Sokka: Aww I thought it was MY job to design the appa posters. I've been working on my Appa. ((Holds up bad drawing of Appa))
((Katara laughs...))
Aang: The arrow is suppose to be on his HEAD!!!
Sokka: That IS his head.
Toph: It looks just like him to me! ((Who is blind))
Sokka: Why thank you... I spent all- Why do you have the need to do that?

the earth king has no power. if he is told, then it will mean nothing. he could already know, though. they didn't want Aang to find Appa so that they could say, "Shut up or we'll shoot him." its called a bargaining chip. or blackmail, whichever you prefer

I don't think he is powerless, just brainwashed to the point of being sedate. Remember that one of the Dai Li's concerns was that Aang would be the catalyst causing them to lose control of the Earth King. If the Earth King was so powerless/useless, I don't think they would have had to worry. Long Feng also stated that the Earth King is like a god to his people, which would also grant him much in the way of power with the masses.

I think one of the biggest reasons Aang and friends will return to the city is because he will see it as the duty of the Avatar to set things right in the city.

It will be interesting to see if the Dai Li fight back and if so, how. I don't think they can risk a straight-forward attack. Both the Earth King and the Avatar are near deified figures, and to be seen against both of them by the people would not bode well for the Dai Li.

I thoroughly enjoyed the episode as well. Good humor, good bending, good drama. LOL I think my favorite part might be when Iroh finally took Zuko to task for his obsession and lack of thinking things through. Not to mention I just think it cool that the old guy can still slip into secret brain-washing centers with the best of them! ;D

Copper for your thoughts. :)

Sort of a question here, but am I the only one that noticed the firebender responsible for Jet's parents, horrible past, and overly-used teen angst looked to be none other than Colonel Mongke of the Rough Rhinos?

Oh and to whoever brought up Jet's injury, I'm pretty sure he's gonna die. From the look of things, that pillar would have slammed his ribs through a few vitals, and the only reason he wasn't spitting out blood was that this was a kids show.

By the way, the episode's up on Youtube now.

Acutally, what was Longshot doing after Katara and co. left. It seemed to either be some sort of way out he was planning and getting to a doctor or something. That bothered me though but everything else was good though. I like Zuko's new hairstyle(Laughs at Zuko's grown out hair) and the fact that Zuko has shown the most charecter growth while in Ba Sing Se. Not to spoil it for anyone but: It seems that Zuko becomes ill as he fights his own demons and finds who he is apperently. Maybe Jin comes back

I noticed that as well. At first I thought that it would be foreshadowing for a future episode in which Jet and Mongke meet again but...

whoever brought up Jet's injury, I'm pretty sure he's gonna die.

It certainly appears that way. Not to mention:
Jet: "Don't worry, I'll be fine."
Toph quietly to Sokka: "He's lying."

Acutally, what was Longshot doing after Katara and co. left.

I think he was preparing for a last stand should the Dai Li attack. Someone mentioned that it almost looked like he was preparing to kill Jet, and for a moment I had thought the same thing when he readied his bow, but he then pointed it towards the door in what looked to me like a defensive posture. I was somewhat surprised and disappointed that Katara, along with one of the others, didn't return to at least try and heal Jet. Though it may have been that Katara knew his wounds were too severe... (Well, in addition to the fact that the writers only have so much time. LOL)

Copper for your thoughts. :)

just finished watching the video on youtube. Someone apparently got acess to the video and placed it on there so i'm content right now.

I really liked it and am glad that Zuko finally is starting a different path. He used to be bent on Avatar capturing, but now he seems like he's becoming much like his Uncle.

Anyone have any thoughts on what will happen for Zuko? Will he leave Ba Sing Se or stay? Will Iroh really open up that tea shop the "jasmine dragon". Will Zuko eventually help Aang and Company defeat Ozai?

What will happen to Jet and company?

Those are my questions and i think many people are thinking the same thing.

I, personally, think that Jet and co. will fall apart, and that Zuko WILL join Aang and co., I mean, why would Nick waste an episode where he was kind to a boy and all nice, if he wasn't going to be all nice at the end? (episode: Zuko Alone)

1. He'll join Aang. It's nickelodeon guys. they're so predictable with everything! avatar is no acception.

2. Explained in #1

3. I don't know if that's the name, but he will probably stay so that the group is still just a bunch of kids. that's probably one reason why he got his own shop. to give him something to occupy himself without zuko. plus, he could rent a room to an assistant or something. and the old owner may have gotten mad if zuko left unexcused.

4. explained in #1

5. Jet will probably die. smellerbee and longshot may start working at Iroh's shop. teamakers by day, Dai Lee killers by night! Mwahahaha!
and btw, i think longshot was readying his bow to put jet out of his misery. he was just lining it up and mentally preparing.

I just saw the episode on Youtube and now I can tell : Lake Laogai is certainly the best episode of all the book 2 (and certainly the book 1 too). The battle with the Dai-Li agents was amazing. I love that "Wall walking" (that's the right name, isn't it ?) technique. And the synchronization !!! My gym teachers all always said team work was winner, now I'll always follow what they say. The part with Iroh telling Zuko to figure out what he wants, a really touching moment (I mean Zuko finally changes...). And the end with Appa defeating the Dai-Li and Long Feng (simple coward) alone (with Aang and Toph in Earthbending baack-up). Really, it was the best episode ever. One question: What will happen to Jet ? (And why did Longshot ready his bow and arrows ?) That's the question that troubles everything.

well,a person is only lying if they think something is true. jet said he'd be fine, but he thinks he'll die. he was lying, but he could be wrong about his statement, meaning that he WILL be ok. do you guys understand what i mean?

I don't think it's right, Xia-di. Think about it: Toph can say when someone is lying because there's a physical reaction. But if when you lie you think you're telling the truth, no physical reaction since your heart beats louder because you're telling something wrong and you physically reacts because it might not work and you "physically" worry. I don't know how to explain it correctly. What I mean is : if you think you're telling the truth, your body won't react, unless you think you're telling the truth but you know it isn't (think about Toph and Katara "I can tell you're lying..."). Is that what you meant, Xia-di ? (Oops, I went totally off-topic)

Anyway, that wall walking technique was incredibla, as was the synchronization of the group (when Toph got hit by a rock glove, Jet caught her just before one of the Dai-Li agents did) ;D.
