I did not watch as I was at work, and from what I've heard I'm glad I missed it. My dad says this election is all a big joke anyway. I don't want to get into a political discussion here. I'm very opinionated.

I'm not very good at arguing, though I am very persistent in my ideals. My brother refused to let me play on the xbox because I didn't do all of my chores. In actuality, the chores were backed up because of stuff they neglected, and I can't just wait around; I go to school at seven when they go to school at nine.
My mom proceeds to tell me I'm simply being an ungrateful child seeing as she does more while I'm sitting around 'bitching' about material things. First of all, I co-own it with my brother. Actually, we sold our wii to buy it, of which I payed most for. Then, again, I payed most for the gaming system. I spend a lot of my time working on my grades because there are two big things my parents care about: physical health and academics. Seeing as health is not my forte, I try to do my best with my classes. And then I get blamed for coming home and relaxing a bit instead of jumping on cleaning the house?
Sigh... I just needed to vent. I know I'm mostly in the wrong here as Thomas cleaned most of the house to get the video game privilege back, but my day hasn't been so great to me and it feels like everyone's against me.

Good day today. Met with a language exchange partner. Those things always feel like blind dates. Luckily, we seemed to 'hit it off' (or so I think.) Her native is Korean, my native is English. Japanese is both our second language. We swap our thirds and firsts. Quite the happy surprise, as it was intended to be for Korean. The Japanese was like... a second prize in the box.
Shes super nice and fun too, which is what matters waaay more than 'language skillz'.

Someone needs to teach me how to pronounce the words to gangnam style. So far, I've managed "Oppan gangnam style", "coffee", and "hey sexy lady".

^ In Korean class the other day, we actually studied the words and pronunciation of Gangnam style (whole thing). To say people in the hall were interested would be an understatement.

^In an English phonetics way of reading it with one exception. "I" is generally pronounced like the hard english "E", like in "Eek".
Kang-namseutayil
Kahng-Nam-soo-ta-yeel.
Which gets you "Gangnam style."

@korra - ah, hahaha. I think I'm one of the few (relatively speaking) US residents that associate 'phonetically' with "ah-eh-ee-oh-ooh" rather than "ay-ee-eye-oh-you". :3 Thanks!

Just got back from TGI Friday's, where I literally received the best service of my LIFE. Wish I could've tipped her the 50 USD she deserved, instead of the 15 we had. (It was THAT good!)

^I associate it with the Japanese "Ah, ee, oo, eh, oh" now. I have to think about it to say "Ay, Ee, Eye, Oh, yoo".

Today was pleasant all around. I'm glad for pleasant days.

Whoa! Kami, I'm sure you're right about it being relatively few, but "ah eh ee oh oo" is how we were re-taught vowels when I was still a vocal major! And I'd never heard anyone outside of music majors use that vowel combination!

Hmm, I'm thinking of maybe creating a new character. A non-bender probably...

I wish it would stop raining outside. It's pretty and relaxing, but it drives my sinuses crazy.

@mako, if you're interested in a nonbender, I'm still looking for someone to play Airi's brother, Aisen. I have a thread with more information if you're interested.

As a sidenote, it bothers me a little how Americans as a whole view Gangnam Style and why it's popular here.
————
Just because one person rejects you doesn't mean you need to reject yourself. Just because some people choose to disregard your worth and treat you without kindness doesn't mean everyone will, and it certainly doesn't mean you have to imitate their behavior. The truth is that the way other people treat us isn't about us—it’s about them and their own struggles, insecurities, and limitations. You don’t have to allow their judgement to become your truth.
You may not be able to control what other people say or how they act, but you can always choose how you treat yourself. You can choose who you surround yourself with, and who you let go of. And no matter what your circumstances, you can choose to believe in yourself and your worth.
Because at the end of the day, trying to please everyone is exhausting and impossible. No matter how you change or who you become, there will always be someone who doesn't approve. So instead of wasting your energy in a
futile attempt to become someone that other people want you to be, give yourself permission to be exactly who you are. And know that who you are is exactly enough.
The right people will find their way into your life. These are the people who will love and accept you wholeheartedly and without conditions. These are the people who matter. Let go of the rest.

@z - I agree. I thought it was interesting at first, but I think the biggest thing that made it one of my favourite songs is the meaning behind it. (Also, I think I like PSY as a whole, I've been on his YT channel constantly since Gangnam). Americans! It's more than just 'crazy asian doing weird things' k?

I would agree with Zombi, but I'll also say I enjoy it (a little, I have other groups I prefer in from Korea) because its fun and talking about wealthy culture in sort of a fun way. As much as an American group might. Though yes, some people do see it problematically...
