^ As a non-native English speaker, I have to say it is incredibly difficult. Twenty years at it, and I'm still making so many mistakes! For example, why aren't things spelled phonetically? I DON'T GET IT. In Tagalog, if I hear 'meriyenda' I know it's spelled M-E-R-I-Y-E-N-D-A. >_>;' In English, you have through (pronounced th-roooh), and rough (pronounced ru-ff). Why isn't it both OOOH? OR both UFF? WHY!?!?!?!? /dead
For non-native speakers, English is one of the hardest languages to learn, and I think that's a global acknowledgement. It's not the absolute hardest (Russian , Arabic, and Chinese I think take that spot), but in terms of languages that use the roman alphabet, it's definitely up there. With Japanese, anyway, the grammar is relatively easy imo, and I think a lot more concise than English. Kanji aside, things are spelled how they sound, 'aishiteru' is あいしてる, and that's pretty much that. Even in katakana, things are generally phonetic, with the exception of some vowel/consonant pairings not native to the language (eg: "blue" being ブル). Korean seems to be relatively phonetic as well, for the most part, and while I'm not fluent I can definitely read a few korean words (OK I have a guide, sue me xD).
IDK, obviously its up to personal experience, but as a non-native speaker I still find English to be hella confusing.

Eh, it's just not worth my time, ahahahaha. When people start using logical fallacies, I walk away. They're not worthy of a response.

OH LOOK, people airing drama (on another board) on that same board, pretending to be a new member. WELL WHAT HAVE YOU STEPPED INTO THIS TIME, KAMI.

Oh, Kami, what's your native language?
I wouldn't say I'm great at french, but I started learning it when I was in pre-k, moved away from Europe to America and stopped, though my mom likes to wake me up in french and spout a few words every now and then(she tools five years of it in schooling) and now I'm on my second year in high school for french. I think the grammar is easy, although a bit different, but I'm a bad speller in English. I'm doing bad in my french class because I'm still bad at spelling xD

Meh. Still migraine. I don't want to go to school tomorrow. Gah. I can't miss so much school! DX

@airi - My native language is Tagalog, though I learned some English still in the Philippines. :] In my younger years, I also learned quite a bit of Dutch, enough to converse and read at a low level, due to living with my stepfather's parents, who were from the 'Old World'.
also when is your Dr's appt?

Thats really cool Kami. Tagalog seems like such an interesting language! I've heard a few friends speak it, and I'm just blown away.
Yes, it is definitely complicated! Naturally I have the benefit of growing up in it, but even natives find spelling horrendous! Both language isolates (Korean, Finnish) and Mutt-languages (English, mainly) have a lot of trouble points to learn! Both Japanese and Korean are fairly phonetic in spelling, thats true! However, Korean for examples, has over 500 ways to conjugate any one verb! That is a lot of ways!

Avoid the Cheetos at all cost, unless they're originals! I must turn you from your evil ways!

Here a Kanji, there a Kanji. Everywhere a Kanji Kanji.
I can't decide how much of a jerk SeoJin is going to be in my next reply. Theres the really nice one, or the vaguely cloak-and-dagger threatening one! Hmm! Yay people both trying to beat each other at the same game on the same side!

^ I'm not as fluent as I'd like to be (also what do I call you know? :X), seeing as I rarely have anyone to speak to. I also know Spanish, can comprehend enough French not to get snowed in Fance, same with Italian, and German. YAY LANGUAGES plz 2 lern moar.
Conjugation is hard, I suppose, but I find most languages tend to be logical about it! English... not so much ;x

This thread, oh my gosh. I'm cracking up over it. Person wants me to tell them how to want to get over someone. OBVIOUSLY that's impossible, and saying so is apparently me being in "hysterics". Hah.

I watched my Beardie try to make a jump from one end of his branch to the other. He missed, and while I chuckled, I also felt sad for him because he's getting bigger and thus can't jump as far. So I took him out and now we're playing ME3

So many canon questions! I need a Bryke hotline!
**This is a light-hearted joke. Really. I'm brand new and not bothered in the least. It'd be silly to be on there.

I've found it horribly relaxing to draw a commission when the reference is poorly drawn. It makes me feel like I have a bit more leeway with my style and no matter how it comes out, I'll have done a good job in comparison xD
