I agree with Kaji. he's annoying. He needs to get with the program. HE"S THE AVATAR! He needs to at least act like one.

I think he acts like the Avatar should. He tries his hardest to learn the four elements, and he handles them well enough to control them. The reason you guys say that he acts so immature is because he's 12. Twelve year olds are supposed to be immature. Trust me, I've been through it.

I don't understand how Avatar fans could hate Aang, the main character. That surprises me. He's a 12 year old with the weight of the world on his shoulders. There's no reason that he can't fool around every once in a while. It's just what kids do.

Plus, I think he only acts the way he does to impress Katara. He probably just wants attention from her, or he wants to make her laugh. Either way, he's still crying for attention.

Overall, I find him to be an interesting character. He seems well put together, and he has a nice, innocent sense of humor.

Kids his age are always craving attention. I'm not dissing him, but he does shout for attention from Katara a lot. I think that's the main reason he acts that way.

aang doesn't try his hardest to learn the elements, he's playing around while theirs a war going on and people are losing lives. He needs to step up to the responsibililty of being the avatar. I mean look at him when pakku was teaching him waterbending, he didn't take it seriously at all. Look when jeong jeong tried to teach him fire bending, he was too reckless and burned katara! He's riding koi fish and penguin sliding when people are dying! people may think aang is funny, but i think sokka has made me laugh 10 times more than aang, he should be the group comic relief, and aang should do his job.
