I like Aang. He's your typical 12 year old, besides the whole Avatar thing. :D Y'all are being hard on him.....although it's a bit of a pain that he's so lazy about his training. He's got a world to save!

Aang...I find him rather responsible and loyal to his friends...but he's playful too. When I watch 'The Storm', it reviewed Aang's past and it was so touching(for me) that I cried! I mean, he was taken away from his very best friend at that time(what's his name? That monk who was his mentor..) and his Airbender friends shunned away from him because he was the new Avatar...It's so...cruel. Oops, I'm going out of the point. Sorry! *bows in apologetic manner*

I do not hate Aang but that kid on the show just gets a little annoying sometimes. In the storm I just developed a further annoyance for him because he ran away from home rather than staying and facing his problems.

Actually, I WOULD run away from home if I were Aang. I tried to fake a fever once when my friend called up and told me that the teacher found out I had not been going for my rhythmic gymnastics. Eeps.

Look Aang can be a spoiled brat who is too lazy and lacks his duty to save the world but come on. He's only 12. Seriously, Aang keeps strong balance in his life and we can kinda tell that he can do the same with the destiny of the world. I was just like him when I was 12. I always put off my homework and stuff but I knew when it was time to get serious. Aang is really noble too. Instead of fighting Zuko in the first episode, he saw how terrified the Water Tribe was and let Zuko take him so he would leave them alone.

There are other animated heroes who would rather have fun rather than do their duties as heroes. Jake Long, Juniper Lee and so on. They're only kids. They are only human if they desire to enjoy life.

Yeah, no one should blame Aang for not facing his problems head on. He is only 12. He just wants to enjoy life and have fun. No 12-year-old would want to hear that if you screw up, then the world is doomed to be led by the Fire Lord. I mean, really. He just wants to be a normal kind, and I think we can all kind of see that he'll probably start shaping up soon.

I like Aang. He's really funny and always enjoying himself. I agree with Karena, he's just a kid. They were supposed to tell Aang he was the avatar at 16, but they told him to early. If I was him, I wouldn't want to train either. Even though he does slack off a bit, he is still a great and powerful dude. Although, I wanted him to use his waterbending a bit more in the first chapter.
