Plot Update 10 March 2021

A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

As you all noticed, Zuko went through a powerful "metamophosis" as described by Iroh. There are many things that concern me about this change:

1) His attitude. Zuko has changed from hs usual rebelious self to a cheerful and all around "happy" guy. He still has hints of anger and hate inside him, for Azula of course, which is why I posted this in the first place. (Kind creeped me out too >_<)

2) His BENDING. If ANYONE noticed like I did, Zuko's firebending style has COMPLETELY changed! Zuko seems to have taken Iroh's lightingin bending to heart OR he has developed it on his own while going through his transformation (Most likely that one). When Zuko first went back to fight Azula he did something I had never seen before! Zuko lifted fire up from the ground, in a waterbending motion, and then blasted it forward with both hands. That was the first indication in his change in bending style. The second came in his fight with Aang. Zuko and Katara seemed to be matching each other with the whip/octopus arms! Zuko used Tai Chi instead of his usual firebending style. This has been bothering me a bit, but it makes sense. The guru had said that all bendings were an illusion and were pretty much the same thing. There was no seperation.

3) His betrayal. Something isn't right there. I think that it is VERY obvious that he is going to turn on and then most likely defeat Azula in the future. Zuko is no fool, and he is obviously not "evil". Zuko has changed throughout his time as a refugee in the Earth Kingdom and I don't believe his "Team up with Azula" act for a second. :P

Please leave your opinions on these or any other topics about Zuko.

Actually they didn't really disappear, odds are he simply took off the unnecessary robes. He knew full well no matter who he sided with, he'd be compelled to fight, and the clothing he was originally wearing would have only hindered him.

I don't believe his betrayal either, because looking at it now it just looks like he really, really hates Aang (in the worst-case scenario. Best case is that he attacked him only because he knew he wouldn't be able to kill him). Just watch the fight again and analyze it more ... when it came time to fight Katara, he really didn't put much effort into it at all.

Even when he saved Azula from Katara, it was likely only because he was attacking Aang and the water Katara was bending happened to be in the way. Plus, once Katara started fighting him, it looked like he was only defending himself rather than fighting her like he did Aang.

the personality Zuko had at the beginning made me think .WTf?! o.O....

He mixed up quite a lot lately. Going from okay i give up on the avatar and then back to omfg i must restore my honor. Azula is such a snake...

I also agree that his fighting style was kinda...strange. I agree that all the bending is based the same way, but the only that is different is how the benders move their chi around to move their element. I still believe that earth benders could bend exactly like water benders, shown here fire benders can bend exactly like water benders too. And air....ya lol.

I also agree with Joush. Zuko's betrayal was extremely wierd...

I belive the betrayal to be full and true.
Zuko's still the Zuko who's desprate for honor, top that off with Azula's brain-washing and voila, reverted Zuko and didn't you see the way his eyes looked when he stared at Aang and Katara as they tried to escape? No sympathy. The way that Iroh looked away from Zuko pretty much wraps it up.

Part of me wants to belive that Zuko didn't betray Iroh, that he has some sort of plan to take back the Earth Kingdom.

the way zuko was talking at the end of the episode, i think he did betray iroh and wanted his honor back. Now i think he realises that iroh was always there for him and more of a father that ozai ever was. In my opinion, i think that zuko will turn on azula and team back up with iroh.

Then I'm not the only one who thinks this. I figure he's gonna backstab the fire nation, all we have to do now is watch the new episodes, when they come, to see it happen. There is clear proof if you look hard enough.

By the way, how good was that blast zuko threw at aang. I never knew that zuko had that sort of power. the only problem is, that zuko doesnt have the intelligence or power to defeat azula. If azula is that powerful you can only imagine how powerful fire lord ozai is. I cant wait to see the final battle between aang and ozai. Im sure that iroh and zuko will play a part in the fire lords demise.

I guess we will just have to wait for book 3.

We're in book three...but I know what you meant. Zuko has become much more powerful in, oddly, the last five episodes. Yeah, getting about twice as strong in five episodes makes a lot of sense.

hahaha i cant wait to see what he can really do. Perhaps he will learn to bend blue fire and finally match up to the fire nation's royal name. Its funny how you never see iroh blue fire bend. yeah in australia we just got to see the finale of book 2. So book 3 is a mystery to us as of yet. I cant wait tho.

Ah, you don't have book three over there. I could spoil the surprise, if it's okay with you. But you speak as if you've seen the season finale of book three. If you do choose to have me spoil it for you, take it to PM. I don't want to spoil it for the rest of the community that hasn't seen it.

thanks for the offer, but to quote the great dragon of the west. ''There is but one great surprise left, and i would no sooner spoil it.'' Just tell me, is there a LOT of firebending in it? Coz i sure do love them firebenders...

If I had to say the most used bending in the finale...firebending and waterbending tie at the top, although there is slight more firebending, if you account for lightningbending. That's a long word...it just doesn't look natural. Has anyone tried to create a 'nickname' for it?

Elebend (Electric + Bend)? Waterbenders, in my opinion, aren't bad, but they aren't the 'best' bending type. Plus, most waterbenders on the show are, what the fans think, "annoying." Airbending lifts you up into the air and allows you to fly, but if you've seen the effect rockets and jetpacks have, a firebender could blast fire at the ground and take to the skies. Never thought of that, have you? *hands the Sifu a notepad and a pen* Wonder what that'd be like used in the actual RP...you could teach your students that or something.

*laugh* I just realized Dragon Ball Z with no spaces spells...*laugh* I was never really a Dragon Ball fan or a Gundam fan...although I'm interested in Gundam, I can't seem to find it anymore. All I can find is this SD (Super Deformed) Gundam crap.

It's apparently an extremely in-depth (another word for complicated) robotic mech suit show. You will not believe the lengths they go. There are at least one million parts for each suit, over a thousand suits, and over a thousand drones...anyway, back on topic.

Here's a little tip-off. In the season finale of book 3, I think all the Zutara fans were killed off, then near the end a couple that had good common sense were revived.

Nope, only robot shows I've seen are Transformers and Dai-Guard. A little bit of Medabots before it was cancelled. I almost died laughing when I saw Go-bots. Personally Aang and Toph are too opposite, and Aang is used to the sensitive but determined Katara. Sokka is picking and choosing, but his best match in my opinion is Toph. They're both sarcastic, have an...interesting personality, for a lack of a better word, and there are four people in the group, Katara and Aang are together, so what's left? ^^
