BTW Zhao is already dead. I think Zuko will give him the final blow. Aand would be able to be Ozai, but he will need Firebending. True that Aang started with airbending, and that will probably not kill Ozai. He could kill him with Earth, Fire, or Water. Also, i think that is why Aang never uses other bending types to often, because he goesn't like to kill people, and you would need to throw someone off a cliff, or launch them up in the air 50 meters and let them drop, and I douht Ozai have a 50 meter roof.

Actually, fire lord is like a king. They do give it to anyone in the royal bloodline. If Ozai's first son had been some weak dork, they would have had to make him fire lord once Ozai died. But luckily, we have Zuko!

As for Airbending, I'm sure it has possibilities for finishing moves, such as: crushing them with air pressure, using tornadoes, incredible wind speeds, and things like that. Also I gathered, from Aang's movements, that Airbenders were skilled martial artists.
And as for The Fire Lord....one of two things I think would happen. First off, I think there will be one of those dramatic end conversations where Ozai tries to kill Aang, but Aang convinces Ozai he is wrong with a sort of dramatic flashback, showing his journies and the people who were affected. Then Ozai gives up and happy happy happy. Second, I think Zuko might kill his father after kinda teaming up with Aang in a final battle sequence and he realizes his father is wrong and puts a stop to it, perhaps sacrificing himself. Not sure either way. But we have to keep in mind that Avatar is on Nick, which is sort of a kids channel. I don't think we will see a ruthless slaughter by Aang or Zuko, or even Ozai. But maybe I'm wrong, and todays standards are lowered.

hey js if u want totalk about the fire lord then u need to make a thread about it, stay on the single topic of how airbending could kill someone. ;D
ya hey the air pressure thing is good. u could trap them in a vortex of such air that it kills them.

If you think about there alot of ways airbending could kill someone.Alot of fatal moves for airbending have to do with sucking the air out of them.

Although we all think they could suck the air out it hasn't been proven, so until then we are left with the idea that airbenders are peaceloving fools. Still even if there was a bad airbender it has yet to be stated that any airbending techniques have an extreme ability to do harm. Just look at Aang almost every offensive airbending move that he has performed has not done much pain to the opponent all it did was cause some pain.
But still that might tie to Aang's character. And don't go saying that they could pop a person's lungs because it hasn't been stated by the writers or on the show. And unless an airbender can shoot air at over a 100,000,000 miles and make that current strike one place on the body I do not see how an airbender can kill a person.
Oh and for those of you saying that if they push them off a cliff thats not airbending that killing them thats the fall, airbending only assisted.

Well issue of air killing or not aside, The Air nomads are the pacifists of the avatar world. It is unlikely that they have created a "finishing" move that would incapacitate someone. They are the masters of dodging and evasion

Airbenders avoid and invade just like king Bumi said "typically airbender tactics"(on episode 4 in book 1 where Aang had to fight king Bumi). Also they could make a hurricane which would suck in there opponent then throw them out and if they went high enough when they hit the ground there bones would have been crushed.

Let's see: Suffocate, break bones, drop, throw into stuff, throw stuff into them, and air pressure... That's a pretty good list, now just to add to it.
1) Gyatso was a master, wheras Aang isn't. I think we've seen Aang make almost a wedge of wind before, so a master could condense it to form sharp wind, like a sword of wind.
2) Blow them off the mountain, but it really doesn't fit the dead benders around him does it?
Most likely it was from the objects one. Gyatso probably ripped the weapons out of their hands, and then launched them toward the Fire Nation. Or he could've made a tornado full of the sharp things. That would hurt.

I believe that there is a fine line between peace and giving up. The Air benders were likely caught between a rock and a hard place, so they took what actions they thought necessary to preserve themselves. Or maybe just as likely the benders lost their discipline before they died and took some of the enemy with them.

But even so, they would probably put their family before their religion or at least thats what I think.
