Personally, the intro is what first attracted me. I saw the name of the show on the Guide, and I'd never heard of it before, so I went to see what it was about, and I saw the intro: Way cool.

I always thought that different styles of martial arts are cool, and also each bending style represents a differnet form of martial arts.
Oh, and voice cast is awesome, because you see a couple of names that you recongize easily: Dante Basco for Prince Zuko and Jason Issacs for Admiral Zhao.

The intro and the fact that tai chi was used by the water benders, I recognized that immediately, I also loved how it was original in the story line

A commercial first attracted me, before the show began. Everything else solidified my already large interest in the show, and I've been watching the series from the very beginning ever since.

I wished I'd seen the show from the beginning. I'm trying to catch up now.

The whole idea of bending attracted me, how cool is using the element to your advantage, definitely, it was bending that caught me.

What can I say? Telekinesis/pryokinesis/lithokinesis/hydrokinesis/whateveritis + kung fu works. Good world building too.

Yeah, I remember the first time I saw firebending in the intro, with all the soldiers. I was like, "Wow..."

I thought bending was going to be dumb but then I saw that actual martial arts moves were used and I was at shock with the amount of work that went into the show these people were serious ;D thumbs up to them

I agree, though at first I thought it sounded cool, but this show has, like, exceeded all of my expecations. The depth of the characters, background, everything is just amazing.

I surpassed all of my expectations then again some really experienced people worked on the show
At first I sorta expected a Xiolin showdown rip off because of all the elemental stuff, however, AVATAR must stick to a certain road for the elements. Which is unlike other shows that have almost no idea of what the h@ll they are doing in the martial arts region.

The whole concept of bending is what appealed to me. The ability to manipulate the elements to your will seems really awesome to me... I'd love to be an Air Bender!

It was all of the above. I saw it on commercial, and I was like, oh, interesting, the art is cool. I looked into it — Yes, I'm a nerd, i look into shows — and the plot was fascinating. Then I watched the show and I'm like OH MAN! This bending stuff--martial arts baby, totally my thing--and the concept and the characters. Oh...I fell in love. ^^

One other thing that has kept me attracted to this mess was the critters. The designers go out of their way to produce amusing beasties. Anyone catch the sea koala? How about the star-nosed giant anteater Jun rode? The mutant penguins? The bat lemurs? The albino beaver-oxen? How about the savage lookign bird mounts? Good stuff. I like.

Yes, some very interesting animals. It gives the Avatar world life of it's own, which is so cool.
