A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

It is plassible. But I also think that you are all looking to hard at the title. It is also called Avatar: the legend of Anng in the UK and Avatar: the divine meduim (or some trash like that) all over asia. Any way If you so want to take it at face value then do so. Just bear in mind it is Avatar: the last Airbender not last air nomad.

I think there has to be more airbenders or Airnomads. If there weren't well..... "His airbending skills are GREAT" not master airbender just great. He has to MASTER ALL of them. So someone has to finish teaching him airbending.

Okay, there might be more Air Nomads, but I don't think there's any more Airbenders. Besides, Aang is a Master Airbender. That's what his tattoos mean, according to the creators of Avatar. Oh, and remember when Sokka asked him, "You've basically Master Airbending, right?" Aang told him yes.

Well since Aang will most likely get married when he's older he has a chance of having an airbender child.

Well, here's an idea... Where did Momo come from? And how about Aangs parents? Not saying that they are benders or even still around, but there was never any mention of him knowing who there were, so where did they go? And even if there are no more airbenders (which I believe) it doesn't mean that Aang can't teach airbending to like those folks in that other temple he visited. Also I have a question, if North and South went to the guy, and East and West went to the girls, how did they ever meet up to have babies? And where did they go from then? Might explain Aang's parents anyway....

No, if Aang is the last airbender since he is the Avatar he wouldn't be able to restore balance in the world (since there are no more airbenders).

BTW, if Aang would have kids they might be airbenders...

^^ya i agree with the whole Aang having children at some point, but we know that they won't show that.

If they do decide to return to Avatar again they will have after he has children and when he is in his 20s or 30s which would strike a lot of controvrsy over the old version and the new version where aang is older

You do realize of course, that, as based off of a set of ancient chronicles, the show actually describes events that happened a thousand years ago. And The last airbender is still alive, after being trapped in an section of permafrost for a reeeeeaaaallly long time. I present to you:

Avatar: The Last Airbender!

Sorry... But I'm the last airbender! *glances around* Don't believe me? Well... Too bad.

Well they are called the air nomads. Add onto that the attitude that material possessions are unimportant to them and you have a hopeful situation where there may be air benders residing somewhere outside the control of the fire nation.

I agree with what was said above that perhaps Aang is only the last known air bender, and discovering/protecting the air benders could be an additional season somewhere along the lines.

*shrugs*

Just my two cents is all.

Hmm... Due to recent study thanks to Wikipedia. The east and the west Air Temples are full with girls... And well... Aang has to you know ((la de da)). All I'm saying is, Aang is the last MALE airbender. but you know. The girls are at the east and west. Why they divided themselves I'm not sure.

Well, they are MONKS. That means, er...chastity. So, you kind of have to keep the boys and girls separate until the time is right, y'know.

*Poke* Aang has one male child. Katara dies in childbirth. And then they all end up dying... accept the Earth Kingdom, who are terrorized and conquered by a guerilla group of excellent Fire Nation. Aang it dead, by the way.

he could always teach the girls to air bend. IF they survived that is. Not much is known about the east and west temples.

And just because he's the last airbender doesn't mean that he has to have a child to have another airbender. Air bending is a bending art and can be taught just how people are decided on learning which element is beyond me right now

Erm... you are BORN a specific bender... not EVERYBODY can learn... wah... Aang is the last airBENDER but when the avatar cycle returns he would have already had lots of children... ((Somehow... inappropriate reasons!))

sorry for the questioning and slight off subject/topic.

But what does it say that you HAVE to learn the element from which is the elemnt of the name you were born in? Exclude the factor of the fact everyone born in their nation has taken up the bending of their nation if they took up any bending at all.

Hmmm.... You do have a point there, Hieu. And don't listen to Kamejei, as I've said, all his posts are like that, and I swear, they are ALL the same. Anyhow, it is the title of the show, so I guess he could be. And Toru, how come he has to get busy with a girl from the air temples? Why not anyone else? *cough* katara *cough*

I think the creators might of either intended for something to happen that would obviously be the end of a legendary character in history, or they just thought the word "last" would be good for the title of a character.

Really if he IS the last air bender that means there are NO more air benders and that would have to state that the eastern and western temples do not have air benders so that means that the avatar line WILL die because of the lack of an air bender. that and he is the last monk.

No one just knows how to bend they are taught. Since Aang is implied as the last airbender that means the avatar line is destined to be destroyed in the next 3 avatars with the fire avatar being the last avatar.

Interesting anyone think the creators will continue to show the next 3 avatars?

Edit: okay i realized my post was rather repetitious but if the title remains true that means only 3 more avatars excluding Aang will exist because the air benders will cease to exist and air bending will not be around anymore unless someone teaches air bending which no one can except Aang

guys come on there has to be at least like 5 survivers , it's like someone killed all of us in the u.s.a , most of the population will die and then others will die of radiation or somthing , and plus titles are made to drag you in , they aren't going to name it : Avatar: the only avatar that we know! , or some3thing between those lines , but don't get me wrong its been 100 yrs. and the only airbenders left are descendents , but if that is the case , they would have to be tought airbending...okay i'll stop my fingers hurt , because i type weird
