Actually, they're called Buffalo-Deer, the mounts of the Northern Water Tribe. They don't use them live live stock, they use them for mounts...

Chicken Pig
Affiliation: Earth
Location Sighted: Gansu and Sela's farm in "Zuko Alone"
Description: The chicken pig has the head a pig, but the feet, body and tail of a rooster.
Real world Connection: Pigs are omnivorous, undulate mammals native to Eurasia. They have an excellent sense of smell and consequently are very adept at foraging. Humans domesticated pigs between 5,000 and 7,000 years ago and have since brought them to every continent on earth.
Chickens are the most common bird the world due to domestication and commercial farming. They are omnivores that eat grains, grasses, insects and anything else that is edible. Female chickens are referred to as "hens", males as "roosters". The males typically have brighter plumage than the females and exhibit a fleshy crest on their heads called a "comb".
I just copied this off the sight because I like piggies and the chicken pig was funny.
Why are their so many animals? Why is their so many animals that have a lot of detail. Just to make the show more realistic?

Well, they have the badgermoles. I think the Avatar World animals are just crossbreeds of all of our regular animals. Think about it, you know that it is true!!!!!!! I can't think of any other animals at the moment, but I probably will later.......
