I feel like I'm looking at the cover of an episode of Star Wars. Especially Sokka. Lightsaber much?
I personally am already unfavorable to the concept of them trying to blend in with the Fire Nation, if that's what the implication is. Of course, I'm sure my mind will be changed when I actually watch the third season.

No I was about to post a topic on this, nice job beating me Katara.
Anyway this is certainly a welcome, for me, during these current Avatarless days. And it does look a little Star Warsish, and the episodes are already named.
I believe that they go: "The Awakening" "The Headband" "The Painted Lady" "Sokka's Master" and "The beach"
I think Sokka might go a little Samurai-ish so he now won't be as useless as he usually is.

I swear... Sokka looks like he's holding a golf club.
I keep waiting for him to yell "Fore!"...
Anyhow, Katara and Aang look completely different.... And as Shio said, I, too, was going to make a thread... Darn Katara. Ah well, at least there's something to cheer everybody on!
Yay for Season Three! I'm sure it'll be quite good.

This is probably all just unrelated to the events of book three, admittedly I haven't yet seen up to the end of Book 2(gasp!). Damn Nick!
I can accept that he has to learn fire bending somewhere, but there are people out there like Jeong Jeong, so I think this is just random art to generate a bit of interest and tension before the release.
On the topic of looks however, I think yes Katara looks like a slutty version of Zuko's mother, (that should prompt some pretty good Ya Mum jokes directed at Zuko) and with Aang I've thought that the whole way through the series, if there are fire nation posters around they notice him but otherwise they convieviantly fail to notice the blue arrow on the dude's head!
What The! LOL! You'll get it if you watch Rove Live...

Yeah, the blue arrow? Kinda hard to miss.
But Oyushi, the only place left for the gAang to go is Fire Nation. For one, it's the last place they'd be expected to go, and for two, the Earth Kingdom is practically Fire Nation now, what with the take over of Ba Sing Se.
(And I recommend going to AvatarSpirit.Net and reading the episode transcripts for the eppies you missed.)

You know, no one else seems to have brought this up yet, so I guess I'll throw it out there for people to laugh at and ridicule.
Does anyone else see a striking resemblance between Season 3 cover Aang... and Zuko?
Makes you wonder (or at least makes me wonder) something about Zuko's involvement with the GAang this season...

Answers to old points:
1) True enough for the part about fire nation, and Ba Sing Se and all, I guess that is all that is left.
2) The episodes are just airing on nick so I'll just watch them now, we're up to Bitter Work.
3) By slutty, I kinda meant that Ursula was dressed very conservatively, so for her to be wearing that would be mildly so.
4) Yeah with Aangy I thought that it was Zuko at first, only after asecond glance did I noticed the blue arrow and went, heyyyy... That's Aang!
5) LOL! Jedi Masta Sokka! Bzzzz!
New Points:
I definitely think Aang's clothes are by far the styliest fire nation clothes I've seen on avatar.
I have to wonder though, how will Katara and Sokka fit in in FN because all of the fire nation people we have seen so far have been lighter skin coloured, like Aang and Toph, however Sokka and Katara (being of water tribe) have much darker complexions, won't people notice that? It would be like a Maori trying to blend in in upper class america in the 50's. They would get noticed and kicked out (or so I believe).

There will be new Avatar episodes by September at latest and all is right with the world once more. Doesn't matter what they're doing in the Fire Nation or if they'll even get there before the season finale, we have word of new episodes from the powers that be, and I am content with the promise of more Toph. It will all be mind numbingly awesome. *melts with sedate joy*
Aang with hair, Aang with hair... And even if the Water siblings are pretty dark, I'm sure interbreeding between the two groups has happened before, so rare dark-toned Fire people likely exist, too.

(Gasp!) Manly Benders don't wear make up! But then... Aang did answer to twinkle toes, Sokka warned him...
I suppose Toph would stick out as well, and it would be much harder for her to conceal her bending, specially because people would ask her how she knew where everything was.
Although I'm not sure interbreeding would have happened in the one hunder years of war, so darker skinned blood lines like that probably would have died out, or atleast been suppressed by generations of fire nation to fire nation breeding, But I suppose it would be possible for a FN villiage to retain it's dark skin if it was small and out of the way, so they could use that as a cover.

Aang can wear a mask to cover that up, the poor boy he will be found out so quickly. Katara and Sokka shouldn't have much of a problem, as they have changed their hairstyles and will more easily blend in and I am sure that they won't draw too much attention. Toph should fit in just fine, so long as no one notes her hadicap.
Still I can't wait to see how this unfolds, Aang finally will finish his bending as his teacher will finally be seen.

Aang does closely resemble Zuko.... And to fervent Kataang shippers (or Aangtara *bows to Captain Kat*) who think that it's already canon, remember that Mike and Bryan said there is still a slim chance that Zutara may happen, even though they basically confirmed that Kataang will be.
That's a pretty good chance for Zutara... I hope! ANYway, can't wait for new season!

I'm seriously thinking that Zuko or Iroh will end up being Aang's fire teacher. In the grand scheme of things, it just seems to make the most 'Story' sense. To bring peace to the world, Zuko and Iroh will need to overthrow Ozai and his power hungry daughter, and put either Iroh or Zuko on the throne instead. To do that, they 'll need the Avatar's help. The way things have been going... I don't think at the end of this Zuko and Aang are going to be enemies anymore. Zutara may not happen, but I think the GAang and the two outcast Firebenders are going to form an alliance. They -need- to, and I think it's been leading up to that the whole of the second season. (( I haven't seen every episode yet.. eagerly awaiting the last DVD.. When is that coming out anyway?!?! )) I could be wrong, buuuut.... I don't think I am. ^_^

I have to admit, from the beginning I've wanted Zuko to be Aang's teacher. It's almost so obvious that it's predictable. I'm starting to feel like it's the only way though. I think that the incident in "the deserter" really lends itself to that situation too. It just fits so nicely. Zuko has to come around anyways.
I'm wondering if they'll bump off somebody important. I was fearing for Iroh for a while. I was thinking that if Azula kills him like she was about to in "the chase," then Zuko would really have no more reason to trust her. For some reason, he continues to, but I think that suffering his uncle's death would really put everything in perspective for him.

I think the only problem with Aang learning from Zuko is the fact that while a dogged, determined and talented firebender, Zuko is not a master by any stretch of the word. Iroh is a master firebender, Jeong Jeong is a master firebender, and Miss Princess Perfect Azula is prodigy master. Zuko was still gaining instruction from Iroh before they went into hiding in Ba Sing Se. Don't get me wrong, Zuko is a talented bender, and is on his way to becoming a master. But there will need to be some massive changes in his life before he's in a position to teach anyone, let alone his former enemy the Avatar.
I do believe that at some point Iroh and Zuko will need to align themselves with the gAang to be able to finally overthrow and stop Ozai. Iroh will be probably be far earlier in the season than Zuko, because he can't join them until he's settled his missing mommy issues.
That said, I'm really excited about Season 3 and I love that Aang with hair looks like if Zuko had a little brother. I could just imagine Zuko's frustration at Aang bumming his hairstyle and it'd be even more hilarious if they were on the same team at that point. The idea that Sokka will pick up the swordplay and further his path as a warrior is exciting, as I love the idea of a non-bender able to fight alongside the mighty bender team. Katara's hair is reminiscent of Ursa's, but I don't believe it's intentional in the sense that they were like, "Let's make her look like Ursa!" More like, "This is popular hairstyle for women in the Fire Nation." While I'll miss the hair loopies, her new outfit is pretty kicking. Oh, and Toph, as always, looks totally badass. Heehee, her headband is still similar to her old one. Tophi is 100% pure awesome.
I'm stoked. Season 3 can't come fast enough.
