Plot Update 10 March 2021

A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

Here is a thought. Once Aang defeats Fire Lord Ozai (or is defeated by him, though I think most would agree such is not likely) what do you think will be the next move on the part of the creators. Will they keep the series going? If so, what will it look like? Will it even involve Aang and friends? Or will they end the series there? And of course, which/what would you like to see happen?

Copper for your thoughts. :)

I heard the story origianlly had three books but since the show's fanbase has grown sooooooo much, they decided to extend the show into three more books. It's proabably going to foucs on Aang's journey into the world after the war and his effort to rebuild and keep the world unified after the war cause most people grew up during the war so they will not know how to live in peace time.

they will probably have either a final season for an epilogue or just one episode. but after four seasons, the series will have a feeling that it's dragging on. so they may just end it there. But I am 100.1% positive they will have at least one episode for some sort of epilogue. possibly how their lives are ten years from the end, or how the next avatar is doing.

Xia Di is probably right, but i do wish they continue this.

A show that has too many seasons is something like Gundam or dragonball.

I bet that after Ozai is defeated Azula will go into hiding or something and train her butt off to become stronger and stronger and thus be a rising evil.

I bet they do. Look at what I found on Google, Avatar premiered in February of 2005 and became an instant hit. The show averaged almost 8 million viewwers an episode, putting it in the top 10 animated programs on TV and making it Nick's top-rated show on Friday nights. 8 million! And growing! And I found 1,880,000 results for Avatar the Last Airbender, on Google. The Nickelodeon people will keep it going by following Aang balance the world or follow someone else.

^^ya, but how? There would have to be a new story so this is more of a "What kind of story will they have then?"

I wish they had a more elaborate avatar game i would have gotten it, but the one they have out doesn't look that appealing to me

I think that they may use the one epilogue episode like 10 years later that Xia-di suggested or I think they make it totaly start over with a new avatar with new friends. Well to tell you the truth i hope they do both or even better make it more then 10 years and show Aang when he is old like Avatar Royko(sp?). Then i hope they will start it over with the new reincarnation of the next avatar in the next element cycle. I would also think it would be cool if Aang somehow repopulated the Air Nomads(I don't know how though).

lol repopulated the air nomads....PIMP haha

okay back to the conversation itself:
How come no1 gives azula any thought? i mean she is a currently evil character and powerful at that. I'm sure that if zuko takes the throne because Aang defeats Ozai she'll be quite the pissed daughter and go frenzy or something

or Azula will be dead like Ozai. definately dead. Mai and Ty-lee may live, but they'll be locked in a dungeon or something. thats just my opinion on the matter.

How so? I mean if Aang became a full blown avatar learned the elements and charged at Ozai, Azula is probably not that dense to fight an avatar and the Avatar State. She's fought Aang and Company along side with Zuko and she isnt really going to fight all of em again unless she gets stronger. Besides if she does brighten up and Ozai is defeated before the Comet she'll wait for the Comet form a squad and then attack knowing the Comet would give them a lot of enhanced power.

A couple of possibilities, one being that she fights alongside the fire lord and so dies with him. Another is that she takes out the fire lord herself to become ruler of the Fire Nation in her own right and thus becomes the one Aang must defeat. Her survival, however, does bring up an interesting possibility for extending the series, that being civil war within the Fire Nation. Also, I don't think anyone save Aang and friends know about the return of Solzen's comet, at the very least, none in the Fire Nation have indicated that they know about it.

The Fire Naton do know of the comet and the power it gives as evidenced by Zhao in "The Blue Spirit" Episode when he gives that speach.

Thank you Gensuku for pointing that out and it is confirmed that Admiral Zhao does know about the comet in a speech when he talks about the avatar being his prisoner if still skeptical i will find the exact spot he says it

And i'm just saying she is the perfect one to become the next villian

They would really have to go against the actual history for that. Aang dies, Katara actually lives the longest... No wait, Toph actually does, now that I think about it. Katara dies in childbirth, if I remember correctly... And less than ten years after Aang's, death, obviously.

I had forgotten about/missed that line and had to rewatch the speech! LOL But yep, there it was the whole time. Sorry about the mistake on my part. Anyhow, that would make any Fire Nation civil war all the more dangerous! LOL

Yes! I do hope that this will be a show with too many episodes! Maybe it will be a show about Avatar: The next Avatar or something weird like that. Who knows, maybe I'm just weird for hoping that, but I like this show, and hopefully I'm not alone in that, or I wonder why are there 559 members???

I personally think that if a show is that popular its first airing, that they will go on to make a next series. I didn't start watching Avatar until the middle of book one, and I only saw the end of the first episode and the first episode of how they meet Toph. I can't watch Avatar because I never catch the commercials for when they say its on, but I have watched enough to get a general knowledge.

Made up? MADE UP? You cannot argue with history, or goverment brainwashing, or how those creators got that story. Furthermore, I think that you doubting the legitimacy of my being Aangs grandson as extremely deprecative to my well-being!

Not to be a burden or anything, but I didn't know what you were talking about. I thought you said that Aang dies during the fight between him and Fire Lord Ozai. I'm not a soothsayer or anything but, that is probably not going to happen. The thing I thought you said not happening I mean. And other questions needing to be answered include;
Who's Katara's child's father?
What happens to Sokka?
Where in there does it say that you are Aang's grandson? (Maybe you're the soothsayer around here...) Sorry but, you said Aang dies.

I probably missed where the info came from. DVD commentary perhaps?
