Like I said, if you're going to go see just forget you ever saw the show. As for the bending, I thought Air & Fire were okay, but Earth and Water were off.

Lol, right, exactly. That's what I told Kanea. "If you do go see, try and forget the show completely."

Okay, I just got back from seeing it. While the critisism is spot on, I don't think the movie as a whole was all that bad. It was just... off, if that makes any sense.
The whole name thing bugged the hell out of me, and the entire beginning of the movie pissed me off. Noah Ringer and Dev Patel did a very good job, both good choices. Katara was okay, but Sokka and Iroh were off. They didn't get the humoric aspects of their characters. Momo is in the movie, people, but the name is never said.
SPOILERSSPOILERS
Yes, the no Kyoshi Warriors fact bugged me. No Jun, not so much, but definetely no Suki annoyed me. Most of the other plot points were there, though.
</end spoiler>
All in all, if you want to go and enjoy the movie... try and forget the show as much as possible. -_- It's probably good that you're not expecting anything, Kami, lol.

Kuruk - At face value, the post is good. It's fairly well written, although there are a couple of problems. You use your character's name and he/him a lot. You should try other ways of describig him - "the brunet", "the waterbender", "the young man" etc... Also, if a number is small, ie. like two or three words, it should be spelled out - ie, two, twenty-two not 2 and 22. If it had just been this, we probably would have accepted your app anyway, on probation. However, you missed the mark of your prompt completely.
You got the disappointment thing down very well, but the question - which should have been the basis of your post - was how are you going to deal with it. Even if it had only been a small part, we might have accepted it anyway, but you weren't clear on exactly what happened, just that an application was denied. What kind of application? How is he going to deal with it? This means Is he going to try again next year? Take a diffrent path? Those kind of things.
For now, your sample is DENIED. You need to fix these things in your post before we can let you move on.
Saiki's Prompt - You are a Princess, and only child of your father, the King. One day, both of your parents are brutally murdered, leaving you, their only heir, the new Queen. However, as the law says, only a man may take the throne unwed. If you don't marry within thirty days, your claim to the throne is forfeit, and the throne goes to your cousin, a cruel tyrant. What do you do? How do you feel? Remember, no godmoding, only what your character thinks and your character actions. Delve into your character, don't just scratch the surface.
Tian Shinta's Prompt - You are misunderstood. Nobody likes you. In fact, a group of people go out of their way to make your life miserable. You hate the world. Someone comes along and offers you a way out. What do you do? What are you thinking? How do you feel? Remember not to godmod, use only the one character and delve into your character. Do not just scratch the surface.

Kuruk's Prompt - You just went through the most disappointing time of your life. You pick the event. Describe your feelings and thoughts. How you are going to deal with the situation? Remember, dig deep into your character's pshyce; don't just scratch the surface. Also, no other characters but the one.

Tian - To be honest, Toph and I were a bit confused by your post. Technially, the post is good, but... this is not an RP sample, which is what this whole process is for - to let us see if you can RP. This reminded us more for a researcher paper than an RP sample. Please do another free form - as an RP sample, with only one character, no others, or sign up for a Prompt and follow that. DENIED

Hello, members! It's time, once again, for:
♪ ROLE PLAYER . OF. THE . MONTH! ♫
Now, some of you may be scratching your heads, wondering, what the heck is roleplayer of the month!? Well, it's simple, really. Roleplayer of the Month, or RPM, is an monthly award given to a candidate that YOU vote for; the Core Staff nominates, and you, that's right, YOU vote. Normally this'd be up by the 18th, but we were a little behind. ^^;;
There are a few rules concerning this award:
1. Core Staff cannot vote. We nominate, that's why.
2. IF YOU ARE NOMINATED, and it will be obvious if you have been, you cannot vote. If you do, you will be disqualified.
That's it. VOTE, VOTE, VOTE! We cannot do this without your votes, and don't you want your fellow members to feel like their hard RPing work has been noticed? Vote! This thread will be locked, but the poll is OPEN!
Poll will automatically lock at 11:59PM CST, on the 31st of June.

You seem to have though her out pretty well, although the first person history confused me since I know that you had to write your profile in third, and most people simply copy and paste the information from their profile, and add in what's needed. I don't see anything that needs to be changed, though; as I said, you've thought her out pretty well.

I wasn't trying to suggest that the Avatar's have to be related. I'm not sure if the threadopener did, but I certainly did not. I was only trying to say that it was more likely, with Airbender blood in them that it would be his descendants.

I have to agree with Haru on this one. It never really seemed important to me, either. Like he said, there's no way of knowing any details, so all we would be able to do is just guess. I figure if it was truly important, it would have been brought up in the series more.

Well, providing that Aang and Katara get married and have kids, it depends on whether or not their children, and their children's (and so on and so forth) are Airbenders, Waterbenders, or neither. If they do, then the next Avatar after the next Fire Nation Avatar could be taught by one of his parents. If that's not so, then perhaps Aang in Spirit form?
