^ I love playing piano. As a child I begged my parents to enroll me in lessons; we didn't even have a piano at that time! Eventually I won and at age five got enrolled in private lessons — my parents bought a Baldwin upright, telling me that if I took for ten years they'd buy me a better piano. Age 15, I received the satin finish Baldwin baby grand that sits in my living room as I write this. There is nothing quite like playing piano — I've learned other instruments but none possessed me the way piano did. Aaaaaand now I'm waxing poetic so I'm going to stop.

eta: I should mention I come from a family where both reading the classics and loving classical music are pretty much de rigueur, so! Every one of my siblings plays at least one instrument if not more.

I'm ridiculously envious right now. Out of all the musical instruments ('I've been around several, but I don't really play anything) its the one that's enthralled me the most. But that sounds like a pretty amazing experience! Having lessons and all, and enjoying them. I know some people who have taken musical lessons and they hate them. But all of that is pretty amazing! And ff, wax poetically all you want about pianos. I'll eagerly listen ;D
