The ground was cold, like steel. No, wait a minute. It was steel. So was the wall, like the one beside, and probably like the roof. This was extremely strange. Sure, there were steel structures in the real world, like the Fire Navy ships, but the room wasn’t swaying in the typical manner that seafaring brought. Along with that, there was almost a complete absence of noise.

It smelled like a typical steel room. The scent was strong enough to even affect Shio’s taste. He cringed at the foul bloodlike taste…or maybe blood tasted like steel. Either way, it wasn’t very pleasing, and only helped to make the whole experience even worse. With some effort, the young waterbender was able to stand erect, and look at his surroundings. The walls were a dull, almost weathered shade of metallic grey. With dark browns, and a few patches of red and black; it helped to give the room some age. Wide-eyed, the golden-eyed youth walked the perimeter of the wall, making sure not to leave the wall; much like rodents.

While trying to find an exit, the Fire Nation’s young citizen attempted to recall how he ended up in this place. As he thought hard, he failed and only managed to strain his head and pain himself. It really was just a blur. The last thing he could recall was going to sleep. This felt like a new day, but he knew that it wasn’t. Someone had to have dragged him into this insufferable place. Whatever this place, and wherever it may be; he would find a way out.

Looking down, he noted his plain attire, a simple brown shirt with white trimmings, and black pants. Nothing special, and considering that the only noise he could hear was the heavy swishing of his water, Shio was assured that his waterskin was still in his possession.

As he continued his search, his vision slowly returned. What was first seemed like a dream began to sharpen with distinction. Shadows were now discernable from their counterparts. It was only with this newly developed sense that Shio parted from the wall and headed to the center of the steel room.

"We're in a brig." His voice. That voice. Soshi chuckled. "Seems we have crossed paths again. Only this time, I am fighting for more than my curiosity." Soshi ran his hand along his side, remembering the wound Shio had dealt him. "I'm fighting for revenge."

He was unarmoured this time. Kamate and Supernal Clarity sheathed at either side. He easily rested his hand on the hilt, closing his eyes, and inhaling softly. His body was relaxed, at ease. Ready. "I have grown wiser. I know more of the Diamond Mind. This won't end the same way, Waterbender."

He exhaled, and then drew in a deep breathe, before exhaling through his nose, smirking. He kept his eyes closed, until at the last moment the grey orbs opened, and he locked them on Shio's eyes. The air was almost thick, heavy.

A Duel of Wills. Soshi's steely gaze was attempting to force Shio to submit, or fight him. The calm before the storm of the battle almost caused a hum in the air. Things were quiet, the only dsound to Soshi's ears his own hammering heartbeat as he felt that lust for battle he tried so hard to keep hidden rising. His mind, tempered by the Styles, would act without volition, without reason.

His eyes were narrowing, the concentration roaring through his body.

Brig…

Why was he in a brig? What was that guy doing there too? Wait that was that one guy, Soshi. Why were they here? And what did he mean by everything he just said? It sounded like he wanted to fight; unfortunately for him, Shio wasn’t going to. There was not point in it.

Still, the way Soshi looked at him, it was unsettling. Not being one to constantly train, the young waterbender already knew the outcome if there ever was a match. Without a moon, his bending would be more difficult to control. Sure, he could still defend himself, but that task would be made many times more difficult. This wasn’t a match he wanted to have, but if Soshi continued to insist on it and act on it he wouldn’t have any other choice than to fight back.

It took a few more seconds before Shio was able to make out the more clearly. He turned to Soshi, and then back to the wall opposite himself. This was not a very good predicament. How he got, he hadn’t a clue; as far as he could remember he was…somewhere. Where was he, again? That wasn’t a good sign. No he was sleeping or something like that, never mind. There wasn’t any point in trying to remember because he could not remember.

His yellow eyes then rolled back at Soshi. That guy was giving off a bad vibe. He really wanted to fight, why? It wouldn’t accomplish anything; there wasn’t anything to be gained from fighting.

He still had his waterskin, good. Maybe he could find a crack and then exploit the shoddy
worksmanship.
