Del (Joychi) vs. Katara (Suyami) - Env. #3

The North Pole. Probably one of the worst places - if not THE worst of all - a Firebender could find himself lost in. It was probably like Earth's version of whatever evil spirits' lair they had in the Spirit World's underworld. With sheer weather, bad footing, gloomy atmosphere, wind blowing snow and sometimes ice to your face... the worst possible sensations were all reunited within one single place, and that is the North Pole.

At least that's how Del felt as he was doing his best to walk steadily and in a straight line across this blizzard. The reason he was walking at the moment and not riding his loyal mount was very simple. Drus, being a tropical kind of animal, was currently asleep somewhere safe... with all four of its paws stuck in ice. Since the young firebender cared about his creature, he immediately decided to scout ahead while it took some rest, just to avoid running - or plain walking - into the same situation again once it was free.

In an effort of attention, Del had put on every single white clothes he could find on top of his usual maroon outfit. It didn't offer much protection, but at least it would keep him warm, and it concealed his Fire Nation clothes. After all, he was in enemy territory, which meant he couldn't go ahead and be detected like an idiot, parading in front of enemy lines. This point was most important in this part of Del's plan, since he was likely to be heading STRAIGHT to the Water Tribe capital at the moment. That's why, in this same effort of attention, he'd brought hiss three weapons along with him. Good thing there were a few clouds covering the full moon right now, that way there would be no flash of light that could give his position away.

Eventually, the young man reached the tribe. He ended up on top of an ice cliff that overlooked the large plaza right in front of the main building. His eyes widened in awe under his white hood as he noticed the marvelous view he had of the entire city from where he was... But it quickly faded away. It was a miracle that he hadn't been spotted yet, so he crouched behind an icy dune to prolong this magic. He wasn't here for sight-seeing anyway. His objective was to scout ahead, and now it was done. So it was time to-

Providence, or maybe prankster spirits, picked just this moment to make Del lose his incredible footing, and thus fall down the cliff along with other shards of ice. In a reflex of survival, he was forced to firebend in order to melt them away before they stabbed him as he fall - though his bending was quite disappointing, and he ended up only making them dull enough for the damage to be reduced a lot. It still hurt, but he wasn't injured. More importantly, the moment his fall came to a stop, that's to say the moment he landed on the snow below, was the most painful. Del slowly stood up, making sure he wasn't injured anywhere, and that his weapons were still on his back. If THAT didn't alert anybody, he'd have to just go ahead and burn down a house in front of all the guards... assuming he managed to even melt a quarter of the house before they arrested him.
