It had been a long while since the goofy old man had gone on vacation. This time around, it had been a rather forced vacation, though, since the Fire Nation had deported him from Omashu to the main island. It was not something he'd really expected, and it was most likely going to get in the way of his plan to free the city at the right moment - whenever that right moment was supposed to take place. But everybody, or most people, knew that Bumi always had a trick up his sleeve even when he wasn't wearing one, meaning that one would expect him to escape in some spectacular fashion.

Or at least that's what a reasonable person would have thought when they saw the king of Omashu inside a metal box being pushed by a boulder on the ground, going up hills and sliding down them, drawing circles in the middle of plains for fun, creating crop circles for future Air Nomads and Sky Bisons to know their way in the future - while also eating some corn with only his teeth... the ones that remained anyway. All of this in the Fire Nation.

But the truth was that he'd been the one who requested to be taken on a vacation to the Fire Nation mainland. Of course, what he had in mind was not remaining stuck in this box and be taken across the sea towards ANOTHER prison, so he decided to get away as soon as they reached the beach. No way was he going to travel around the Fire Nation as a prisoner. Bumi was now a tourist !!... in a metal box.

Curiously, he wasn't meeting many people on his way. And the few he did meet simply ran away as soon as he got within fifty yards of them, which prevented communication. Being on a tour was not much fun without a tour guide to talk make the sightseeing more entertaining, after all - he would know about it, having practiced "extreme speed sightseeing" for many many years on the Omashu superslides, although passengers were rarely entertained by the knowledge he provided, either because of their terror from the speed and height, or the amount of fun they were having.

Eventually, he reached a place that felt very hot from his perspective. The point of view was not very interesting from that angle, so he raised his chin to get his box to stand up quickly. It seemed he had ended up at the base of a volcano, and judging by the thread of smoke, or maybe steam, coming out, either the volcano was active, or somebody was active inside it. In any case, the mad genius only had one reaction.

"A volcano, huh ? I guess that's why they call it the FIRE Nation !"

The relevance of this comment was lost in the middle of his laughter punctuated by a few snorts, as the old man in the coffin was making his small hill a bit bigger, so that he would stand even higher than right now, in order to have a good view of things here. If only he weren't in this cage, maybe he would be able to make the landscape more amusing !
