Guru Pathik walked slowly from the top of the Eastern Air Temple down to the spiral platform. He had just finished his bowl of banana and onion juice, and was ready to meditate. He felt the warm rock as he sat down, and started to relax his dark wrinkled body, closing his eyes and breathing deeply in a symmetric balance.
He let his chakras flow freely, not letting the outside elements effect him in any way. The wind ruffled his long, bushy white beard and fluttered his yellow toga, but still he did not budge. Only his chakra moved, and he only thought about his goal.
About a hundred years ago, he wasn't sure exactly how long, he had a vision when he was about fifty during deep meditation. His vision showed him that he was needed by the Avatar, and that he must wait at the Eastern Air Temple. He thought deeper, delving even further into his past. He remebered Monk Gyatso, his close friend, had told him that the Avatar had run away. Knowing that he was needed by the Avatar, he quickly left and waited in the Eastern Air Temple for a hundred years, waiting for the Avatar to finally come to him and learn the secrets of chakras.
His mind had developed doubt many times, but he clensed his chakra regularly, renewing any lack of faith in his vision. He also constantly felt the energy of the Avatar. But he knew he had to wait for the Avatar to come to him. Only then would be the right time.
Several days later Guru Pathik awoke from his deep meditation. He walked to the top of the temple, and made himself a bowl of banana and onion juice, walking along with a squirrel as he drank it. He felt that the creature had lost it's food supply to another squirrel, and that he would probably die if he didn't get anything to eat.
About an hour later Guru Pathik returned to the squirrel with a bowl of acorns, placing it in front of the tree that the squirrel dwelled in. He immediately left to go back to the spiral platform to meditate, and await the Avatar's arrival.
