Tall, about six feet even, long, thick black hair roughly 2 in. long.He has piercingly blue eyes. His ears are mostly covered by his hair and his cheeks have a few freckles. He has a scar stretching from his eyebrow to his hairline from a previous encounter with a spear tip during the invasion of the Northern water tribe. His face looks slightly gaunt but he has a big prominent chin and Adams apple. He has big, strong, slightly hairy arms. They are capped off by rather average hands. He has a silver ring on his index finger from his mother. His torso, back, and legs are muscular. He wears (in cold areas) heavy fur boots, a parka with a hood, and gloves topped with a gold earring on his right ear. He doesn't know what to wear in warm weather for he has never been outside the North Pole. During training he doesn't wear gloves and when he is in the exercising room. He also has one last resort trick up his sleeve.

When he was an only child, and his parents raised him in the North Pole. His dad was a water bender by the name of Quinn. His mother was a healer named Ki Lam. When Kagami was four his mother went to the northern Earth kingdom to help heal a village that had been recently attacked She was due to return in a few weeks. She never came, soon afterwards a report came in that the Fire nation had kidnapped her. Ever since that day Kagami has hated the Fire nation and has been trying to organize a group of waterbenders to get her back. His dad trained him ever since he was four, and he died only a year ago. He now feels that he is ready to come to the earth kingdom group or no group. He has not though mastered waterbending. Although his attacks are very good he refused to learn defenseive moves. He only knows one defensive move to speak of. He does have a boat ready to go whenever he wants. He is only staying because he has a possible group of waterbenders ready to go. But they are still not convinced that they should fight the Fire nation they want to stay here because they think that there might be another invasion now that the Earth kingdom has been defeated. He did fight in the invasion of the Northern water tribe and he did kill a decent number of soldiers. It was just after the invasion that he decided to go to the Earth kingdom. He is trying to get three or four waterbenders and two or three healers to go with him but they want to stay at the North Pole. The cowards!

He is a nonchalant person to anyone except those who are or have to do with the Fire nation. To those people he has an undying hatred. (At least until he gets his mother back. If he gets her back.) He will help those in need if they were affected by the fire nation. He didn't want to join the avatar. Now after what happened in Ba Sing Se he believes the avatar to be dead. But then again the return of the avatar had happened once before maybe it would happen again. But he didn't want to rely on that to get his mother back so he ignored it. He wants to continue training his waterbending along the way to the western fire nation colonies where his mother is being held. (according to an intelligence report.) He isn't a mindless person full of hatred though. He channels it into cold calculating hatred. He is pretty smart but he thinks that he needs constant training but not defensive training. (He only knows one defensive move.) He believes defense to be a waste of time and energy.
