In "10.5: Apocalypse," the deadly seismic activities that peaked with a 10.5 earthquake and devastated the west coast in the first miniseries resume to jeopardize North America, causing catastrophic events. In a desperate bid to save lives - and the country - President Hollister (Bridges) calls upon one of the nation's top seismologists, controversial scientist Dr. Samantha Hill (Delaney), to interpret the latest onslaught of quakes. Hill has a new theory based on her father's (Langella) much-discredited hypothesis from years past that if correct, predicts even greater ruin.

In NBC's high-octane thrill ride "10.5: Apocalypse", the deadly seismic activities that peaked with a 10.5 earthquake and devastated the West Coast in the first miniseries have altered the core structure of the earth and now threaten to jeopardize North America and the Western hemisphere, causing catastrophic events. Filmed exclusively on HD, "10.5: Apocalypse" achieves a whole new level of visual affects and style that has not previously been achieved on network television.

In a desperate bid to save lives – and the country – President Hollister (Emmy-Award and Golden Globe winner Beau Bridges, "The Ballad of Jack and Rose") calls once again upon one of the nation's top seismologists, controversial scientist Dr. Samantha Hill (Emmy-Award winner Kim Delaney, "NYPD Blue" and "CSI: Miami") and her supervisor and former boyfriend Dr. Jordan Fisher (David Cubitt, "Medium"), to interpret the latest onslaught of quakes. At a loss for how to interpret this continued seismic and now volcanic disruption, Hill re-discovers her seismologist father's (Frank Langella, "Superman Returns") much-discredited hypothesis from years past that if correct, predicts even greater ruin and a complete altering of the North American Continent – a Continental Divide of the land mass.

Also starring: Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon ("NYPD Blue"), Barbara Eve Harris ("Ignition"), Dean Cain ("The Perfect Husband: The Laci Peterson Story"), Oliver Hudson ("The Mountain"), Carly Pope ("Popular"), Carlos Bernard ("24"), Tamara Hope ("Shall We Dance"), Melissa Sue Anderson ("Little House on the Prairie").

"10.5 Apocalypse" is produced by Pearl Pictures in association with Jaffe/Braunstein Films. Howard Braunstein, Michael Jaffe ("Elvis"), and Gary Pearl ("Liberty Stands Still") – whose childhood nightmare served as the basis of the original "10.5" – are executive producers. John Lafia ("Child's Play," "The Dead Zone") is writer, director and co-executive producer.

I live in New England sooo ya. But I like Volcanoes best. I don't think there could ever be a 10.5 earthquake. It seems too much like something from tv to ever happen. Like those giant sharks that supposedly still exist. But has anyone ever seen one? NO! so I say no giant earthquake.

Did you know Zana there is a Volcano undown Yellowstone National Park.

It is little known that lying underneath one of The United States largest and most picturesque National Parks - Yellowstone Park - is one of the largest "super volcanoes" in the world. Scientists have revealed that Yellowstone Park has been on a regular eruption cycle of 600,000 years. The last eruption was 640,000 years ago…so the next is overdue. The next eruption could be 2,500 times the size of the 1980 Mount St. Helens eruption. Volcanologists have been tracking the movement of magma under the park and have calculated that in parts of Yellowstone the ground has risen over seventy centimeters this century.Normal volcanoes are formed by a column of magma - molten rock - rising from deep within the Earth, erupting on the surface, and hardening in layers down the sides. This forms the familiar cone shaped mountain we associate with volcanoes. Supervolcanoes, however, begin life when magma rises from the mantle to create a boiling reservoir in the Earth's crust. This chamber increases to an enormous size, building up colossal pressure until it finally erupts. The explosion would send ash, dust, and sulfur dioxide into the atmosphere, reflecting the sun's rays and creating a cold wave lasting several years. Crops in many areas would fail and many species of animals and plants would face extinction.

Ya knew that. Wouldn't that be cool if it exploded? we did this whole science thing about it in science class then we made paper-mache volcanoes. It was pretty cool.

I think 6/6/06 is just a symbol for evil. I doubt this year something bad will happen (except for the EOC's) but so many people think the world will end. I doubt that *shiffy eyes* at least not yet.

The earthquake, I think it could happen because with all the bad stuff going on now, I wouldn't put it passed mother nature to send us a large earthquake. Just hopefully not too soon.

My favorite natural disaster would have to be ice storms (we had a huge on three/four years ago) or hurricanes (we get them every year)

There better not be an earthquake on 6/6/06!
I live in California so quite scaring me!
Last year around this time we had about 10 earthquakes in 2 weeks! Plus, I don't want Knott's Berry Farm to get destroyed, since I'm going with my graduating 8th grade class in 2 weeks!

Since when is the mark of the beast 6606? I think this is a load of crap. If something was truly going to happen on the date 666, it would have happened June sixth, year six.

666 is just supposed to symbolize evil. (EOC's are on that day so that is how we know it is evil lol) I highly doubt anything will happen, just like January 2nd in 03 at 4:56, people think the world will end then, to bad it already happened and I am still alive! (Jan=1 2nd=2 03=3 4=4 56= 5&6 so it is like 1,2,3,4,5,6)

Zana is right on the day of 6/6/6 something will happin.

The first use of 666 was likely code used as a sarcastic critique of an emperor or powerful man of the time

it would be easy enough to dismiss the whole 666 thing as yet another Hollywood concoction. But scholars say the number, which the Bible's Book of Revelation says is the mark of the beast, has interesting historical significance.

Revelation, written around 96 A.D., combined an apocalyptic writing style in vogue among Hebrews with code language used to hide social criticism from authorities, according to Joe Barnhart, a University of North Texas religion studies professor and specialist in first-century Christianity. Roman emperors took a dim view of social commentary.

"Many scholars think it refers to Nero," Barnhart said. "Nero was already dead by the time the Book of Revelation was written, but there was a myth that he would be resurrected."

True 666 is the mark of the beast mentioned in the book of Revelation in the bible. It is strictly a number representing evil, as I said before. We don't believe that 6/6/6 is an apocolyptic thing, just a symbol for evil. Revelation doesn't tell us flat out how the world will end, it is a very vauge book. Of course the writer of Revelation wasn't going to say "you're going to die on this date this time." 666 shouldn't be mistaken for a sign of the end. It is just a number representing satanic beliefs and evil, not a date when the world will end.
