She would hear the vibrations from the jump. When you jump you have to come down sometime, and even when you jump up you give off vibrations. That's what Toph feels.

yep i think toph could only fight a earthbender well fire does not make vibration and thats how she sees

yeah, she wouldn't be much help if she couldn't feel the vibrations, just stay completely still, then jump and attack, she couldn't tell whre you were in the air.

Don't forget she can hear too..and it is fact that if you loose one sense..the others get stronger.SO maybe she will be able to hear your clothing moving in the air when you jump and know where you are

True, but it would be easier to hear a solid element like earth, then an amorphous element like fire,water, or air. Making her at a disadvantage.

yeah, they each make the slightest of sounds, the crackle of fire, the woosh of air, the gurggle of water, Toph is amazing, so maybe shes not at a disadvantage.
