Plot Update 10 March 2021

A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

Ive comprised some articals pertaining to the very 'real' subject pertaining to the question "is it really posible to control one or more natural elements with ones mind or chi?". So how about you read these few paragraphs and decide for your self if its real or myth:

Hydrokinesis - aka: Waterbending:
The mental manipulation of liquids via force. It is the manipulation of liquids such as water, oil, and alcohol. Hydrokinetics’ are able to influence the motion of water not create it. Static electricity is generated via the agitation of flammable liquids such as gasoline. The rate of generation is influenced by the conductive of the liquids or the amount of turbulence in the liquid. Liquids with lower conductivities tend to accumulate more static charges and would be easier to move. Strictly speaking there is no such thing as a "non-conductor". If the voltage is high enough electrons will bridge the gap, even a vacuum. Since water is less conductive then flammable liquids you will almost entirely dependant on your Electrokinetic ability in which all Psychokinetic’s posses. It is the electrostatic field produced by your own mind and body that agitate the water and redirect it movements. Hydrokinetics cannot make it rain or anything of that sort, as such would be getting it confused with atmokinesis (or weather bending... lol ). Some associated gifts also include self healing and empathy.

Pyrokinesis - aka: Firebending:
The mental manipulation of force due to increase temperatures. Pyrokinetic’s use frequencies and electrostatics to create temperature increases in gases, liquids and solids. It is the acceleration of molecules that produces this heating transition. Pyrokinetic’s can reach melting points and boiling points (for instance the melting point of the element mercury is 37.89 °F) and (The boiling point of water is 212 °F). Pyrokinetic’s can heat solids, liquids and gases such as oxygen, hydrogen, nitrogen, water, mercury, etc. Once an object has met its melting point successfully the substance will then transition into a liquid. Once a liquid reaches its boiling point it will transition into a gas. Fire is a form of combustion and to produce fire a Pyrokinetic will need both fuel and oxygen of course. Also, this will require very high temperatures to actually spark the flame via electrical currents and surges. A flame is a self-sustaining oxidizing chemical reaction producing energy and ionized gas (plasma). Rapid combustion is a form of combustion in which large amounts of heat and light energy are released. Slow combustion is a form of combustion which takes place at low temperatures. In complete combustion, the reactant will burn in oxygen, producing a limited amount of products. Some associated gifts are hypnotic Telepathy and telepathic broadcasting.

Geokinesis or Terrakinesis- aka: Earthbending:
The mental manipulation and movement of minerals. Geokinetics use electromagnetism and electrostatics to manipulate minerals. Alteration in mineral compositions. Microseismic (small earthquakes) disruptions via the initiation of deformations in the earth surface called faults and then initializing movement of that fault. They can manipulate lumps, masses, grains (such as sand), or is disintegrated rocks (found in soils). Such minerals can include: aluminum, magnesium, iron, quartz, garnets, sulfates, salts, hematite, magnetite, rutile, phosphorus, gold, silver, copper, and ice high in minerals. The Geokinetic is a natural Alchemist. Some associated gifts are empathy and psipathy

Aerokinesis- aka: Airbending:
The mental manipulation of wind, air and gasses in general. Movement via blowing force from small breezes to gusting winds. With this as a controlled ability one can also encase and move physical objects with the produced currents. Manipulation of oxygen, helium, carbon dioxide, nitrogen, hydrogen, etc. Some associated gifts are levitation and phycometry.

Well i hope this helped put it into perspective that some form of "-bending" might actually exist. So, give it a thought.

Sounds very scientific, looks like they've got the science behind them, but it sounds a little out there. Maybe do a degree, i've heard people saying people don't use 1/2 of their brain, maybe this has to do with that untapped energy. Or maybe its a fluke, haha.

It was very interesting. However, I read through the scientific language. No offense, but I don't really believe this exists. Oh, and we only use half of our brain to actually think. The rest is our subconcious, bodily functions, where memories are stored, and other things. It's not as if there's half of our brain is just sitting around and doing nothing.

yeah the whole point behind the scientific language was to get it off the whole Magic/Fantasy point of view and bring it in to the light as a possibly real subject. And the whole half of the brain is sleeping points out that there have been cases where people have a strange amount of activity on that side and some have reported "paranormal abilities". Im not asking you to believe it nor do i want you to, i just thought it might be cool to think about the possibility

Interesting. Ya it DOES sound wicked scientific. What about people who can put out fire with their fingers without wetting them and people who can grab burning sticks out of fire? jk lol I can only do the first one. Don't like doing the second one, unlike putting out candles and matches, u get burnt.

No definitie scientific evidence to support any -kinesis....that aside...its good to dream.
Also, if you ever find out you CAN do such things, get in touch with James Randi, he's offering 1,000,000 dollars to anyone who can prove this in a controlled enviorment.
Sigh...where are all the chi masters now ._.

Alright, I'm tired of everyone saying "There's no such thing-" just because it can't be scientifically explained! Alright? Just because you say there's no definate scientific evidence doesn't mean that it's aside! It doesn't mean that it's just a dream! It just means scientists don't have anything to prove it. It's like Shijn said. The absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence (which I like that quote Shijn).

Sigh, not only is there nothing to prove it, but there's no credible example that can be observed. The abscence of evidence is the evidence of an abscence of evidence. If someone told you that triangles had four sides and could not provide a postulate that confirmed their statement would you believe them all the same?

It dosn't help you argument that of the thousands of claims people in the psi community have made rarely can they back up their feats of "kinesis"
That's not to say that these things are impossible... I'm just saying that taking on a bunch of pseudo science to the paranormal dosnt make them anymore real.

If we used more of our brain it would be a possibility, since we are limited or dont use what we can, it is hardly probable

What do you know about how much of our brain we use, other than people telling you that we don't use the full capabilities. Do you know these statements to be fact? Maybe that claim is just as untrue as tales of werewolves and vampires?
Maybe we DO use all of our brain? Maybe we don't, but even if we did would it allow for any paranormal abilities?
People can say "well if we could..." all the time, but what do they know? The fact is we don't, or we at least have yet to see anyone we can.
You can make assumptions and theories until your eyes bleed. But even when things are regarding the paranormal, you have to at least have some example that can be demonstrated when exaimed by a skeptic.

Just like all the kung fu legends of dim mak and wounding at a distance, I won't believe anything until they've been demonstrated to me.

Any of ya'll ever watch the Ripley's Believe it or not? I saw some 150 pound Chinese dude walk on paper and it didn't break. And them viewed him holding tin foil with a thermal cam and it showed the foil getting WHITE HOT.

ya weird. I have this cool idea. they should make these gloves that are like lighters all the way around so that u could have artificial firebending. If they can make hover shoes (which some guy did but killed himself in a test run thing he tried to do or somthing like that. I only saw part of it on tv.)

As we all know im pretty much obsessed with waterbending but im just obsessed with water in general. to the person talking about the lighter gloves i think i had an idea kinda like that when i was ten in my science class when i saw this video of a chick holding a positively charged iron rod up to the water comming out of a sink, it moved away from the rod, the same thing happend when it was negatively charged. so i got to thinking, if you could get some gloves with iron plates placed in the right spots and a battery hooked up to it so that it would be charged one way or the other. then maby it would be possible to hold a ball of water and possibley throw it. i also got to thinking that that wouldnt work because of the water just shooting off into random directions being repelled by the glove so i figured a room with a negative/positivily charged floor would do the trick. just put a window in it and turn on the power and the water you put on the floor would float? maby but i dunno

And back to the "its not possible, theres no way to prove it". Well im not the most religious person in the bunch and im not trying to debunk any belief systems here but i do believe i saw this man named "Peter Popoff" or somthing like that on tv that claimed "the power of the lord could heal you and save you from debt". Now, if its ok for a creepy old man to push down sick old ladies on tv then i think its safe to say that theres no way to prove its "not" possible to do such amazing feats as Move things with your mind...

Its been proven that most of these so called "miracle healers" are hoaxes -.-
Infact, its gotten to the point where most of the ones that claimed such feats have stopped out of fear of losing credibility. Peter Popoff for example no longer does this.. I don't think he lost his super mega healing powers... he never had them, several tapes have been released showing the tricks he used to pull off his hoax.
So bleh...
