Wow. It sounds like Myth Busters now. I say, bending plausible, if not confirmed.

Yes and I shall lower my IQ by 25 points, shoot windshields with BB guns a thousand times, acquire a taste for mayhem and destruction, shave my head, and acquire coke bottle glasses. "Hi there, Jamie! *ahem* Metalbending, busted. I have personally tried it, and now my hand's the thing that's busted. Now if we were talking about the physics of the show 'Avatar: The Last Airbender,' it is completely plausible. I cannot confirm this, because I am not a cartoon character, so I have no choice but to say all three. *three metal plates fall down with "Busted," "Plausible," and "Confirmed" on them*"

Whoa.. I can really feel the love between Joushouryuu and Takano.... just saying...

Anyways I doupt that Toph would be able to go stright into the Fire Nation and take out everything just because its metal. Lets face it she only did it once and we're not sure she'll be able to do it again. Besides she just started and has to master it. Sides that little cage was small and the fire nation army is like huge!

Though I doupt anybody but Toph could beable to bend Metal seeing how shes so connected to the earth. Yeah.
