Book 1 Season Finale and Beyond

Alright, here's a thread where can talk especially about theories about upcoming season, and the Season Finale of Book 1 of Avatar.

Here's what I have to say:

OH MY GOD!!! It was so good, and completely... I just didn't expect what happened to happen.

Sacrifice: Yue. Did not see that coming, but it was a very noble thing of her. And the whole thing between Yue and Sokka at the end was so cute.

I also liked the whole thing between Iroh and Zuko and the beginning. I had no idea that Iroh had even had a son! It was very... heartwrenching to see the exchange between the two of them, and to actually hear in words what we all already knew.

And Zula being a Fire bending prodigy? Scary. If she's any stronger than Zuko, I think I'm going to be scared, and it does looka s if she'll be more of a focus in the next season, since Zhao is out of the picture.

*sighs* I do have a lot more to say, but I could talk about this forever, so I'm going to step off the podium and let someone else talk.

I can't believe the Season Finale! WOW! Admiral Zhao is expendible! I think he died in that last episode...drowned...unless somehow he lives later on. Plus, with Zuko and his uncle being traitors, wow! I think those two will help the Avatar out now since they are being hunted the same way as the Avatar. Totally awesome! I can't wait for Book 2 to come out.

Wait is Katara now a waterbending master, because Pakku said that Aang better get ready to call Katara master.

Zula was pretty creepy

As for Yue I sorta thought that she would die because Sokka had to continue his journey with the group

As to the two coments above, I agree.

Zula (note they haven't said her name yet far as I can tell) reminds so much of an evil older version of Jade. And Zuko clearly views Zula and Aang the same way. That's why he hates the Avatar so much, our hero is the target of all the hate he feels for Zula! It's so clear!

Yue's sacrifice is typical, so typical. As soon as she said she was revived by the moon spirit, I thought, "Buh bye, Yue."

On to my reactions, sorry if I repeat. Ko the Face-Stealer was a treat. (The panda spirit was fun, too. Bad monkey!) Iroh has visited the Spirit world... Hmmm. That presents... Possibilties.

With Zhao's loss, Zuko is actually still in line for the throne provided he can capture the Avatar. Zhao so deserved what he got, the filthy little heretic. I hope he comes back with some kind of killer curse just so we can see him as a degraded being. On that subject, wedding boy lasted all of ten seconds against Zhao, ironic no?

Excelent use of lighting effects. Good bending overall with uber bending moments. (Had to raise an eye-brow when Katara built that ice cage for Zuko though, come on, he's a firebender!) Iroh kicking butt. Aang just earned his title in my eyes this epi. Yin/Yang fish. And finally, Zuko/Iroh bonding. (That's a list.)

Lastly though, I was disapointed with Zuko's 'sacrifice'. He didn't loose anything, really or had to make a concious choice, or grow as a person, or anything really. All he did was get beat up, lose the Avatar (again) and gets to rest in time for next season. Oh. well. We shall see what they do later. Good Epi.

The Season Finale was super!!!!

Princess Yue's Sacrifice: OMG, I was so sad for Sokka! My RL reaction-——> I totally wanted them to be together, they were a super kawai'i (cute) couple! But that was an awesome twist...but so sad!

Prince Zuko and General Iroh: That was so touching! I didnt even know that Iroh had a son! And he totally tackle glomped Zuko before he left. That was one of my favorite scenes, along with the dialogue: "Remember your fire breath, it might save you! Put your hood up its cold!" Or something like that.

Zula: I know I missed an episode here...I didnt know that Zuko had a sister....but she looks S-C-A-A-A-R-Y!!!!!!

MASTER Katara?: Hahahahahahaha! That's great! Katara-sensei! Hahahaha!!! She was so awesome, when she fought Zuko--that was another favorite scene. The second time they met, I loved the dialogue: "Back for a rematch?" "It wont be much of a match."

Aang and the Koi--battle scene: That was incredibly done!!! Just...bravo!

General Zhao and Yue's betrothed (what was his name?): I'm glad the Zhao's gone, the pompous little son-of-a-one-eyed-duck!!! I was also amused with Sokka's interaction with Yue's fiance....heh. Oh, I also liked how Yue's fiance bursts upon Zhao and Iroh, runs to skewer Zhao, and winds up falling overboard.

Bending in general: OMG SUPER AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was fantastic!!! I...I....AHHH!! *watches bending scenes again and again*

My hopes for Book 2:
  • Zuko and Iroh join up with Aang, Katara, and Sokka. (Hey! I can dream!)
  • Yue "visits" Sokka in a vision or something.
  • Another fight between Katara and Zuko
  • Aang and Katara spar against each other

By the way....Pakku-sensei wants to go to the South Pole to help teach waterbending. My thoughts--he wants to see Grandma!

Shio - Well, he didn't really sacrifice anything. The sacrifie was Yue, not Zuko.

Defintely tons of insight on Zuko, though. Majorly cool, that was.

Han was an idiot, and if he'd listened to Sokka, he might have lasted longer. No, actually, scratch that. He was hopeless. Zhao didn't even flinch, just turned, pushed him overboard, and continuned his conversation with Iroh.

Oh, and Zuko's way of getting into the city: Wow. Totally smart on his part. I would never have thought about that. Talk about lung power! Man, he was too cool... Yeah, Katara beat him, but he did beat her, and... Come on, he's too cool!

Oh, and the line was: "Trust me, Zuko, it won't be mutch of a match."

Zula scared me... I mean, besides, Zuko said that she was a firebending prodigy... As I've said, if she's better than Zuko, I'm scared, because Zuko is damn good, and can kick butt. Of course, I'm going to have tons of fun RPing her, but that's beside the point. (Weird thought though, I play both Zuko's fiancee and his sister...)

Anyway, Book 2 (Earth, probably): Who's going to be Aang's Earthbending teacher? Tyro could do it, and that would be mean we'd see Haru again. Also, Bumi could as well, because he said to Aang that he was the most powerful bender he'd ever see.

Insight on Zuko: I agree.....My heart bleeds for him....His way of getting into the city was brilliant!!! I knew that there was a reason I was attracted to him besides his good looks!
*sulky* Sure Zuko beat "me"...but.......I can beat him, ya know!!! >_<*

You playing Zula and Karena...........yes, that is amusing...

Haru....*drool* I wish....

Let's face it: Zuko rocks, regardless of what anyone thinks. Anyway...

Grr, here's something that's been really bothering me. Ok, here's a conversation between Zhao and Zuko:

Zuko: You tried to have me killed!
Zhao: I had to do it. You're the Blue Spirit, an enemy to the Fire Nation. You freed the Avatar.
Zuko: I had no choice.

What the hell did he mean? Did he mean "I had to do it, so I could capture the Avatar to get back into the Fire Nation, and regain my throne." Or did he mean, "What you did was wrong, and I had to do what's right?"

I'm leaning more towards the first one, but... The way he says it bothers me.

I dont understand what Zhao meant by "Blue Spirit." But anyway, I too lean to the first interpretation, but the way he said it was somewhat.......amibiguous...it bothers me as well...*ponders*

Ah, no I dont believe so. Remember on the plaza, I told you I was having issues catching the show? That might've been during that time. I believe either Quan Li or Goruhui explained it to me. (That's the trouble with multitasking IMs....you have issues remembering who said what.)

That would've been me.

Anyways, I theorize that someone entirely different will teach Aang Earthbending in the next season. I have a theory as to why... I'll just not be sharing it yet.

I think it will be some new guy. Maybe the guy in the intro who performs the earthbending move. I believe this because Pakku did the intro and he taught Aang waterbending.

I feel so sorry for Aang because if Zula is a bending prodigy, well the 'Raw talented' Aang will have to fight just a bit better.
