Jealous of Aang, Afiko betrayed the monks to the Fire Nation, and the Southern Air Temple was ransacked just a little to late to catch the Avatar. Afiko helped the Fire Nation to destroy the rest of the Airbenders, and remained the Fire Lord's trusted advisor for many, many years. Afiko died years before Aang returned to ruin all his hard work.

that or 16 remember what that monk(forgot the name) said to Sang they weren't supposed to tell him until he was 16 so maybe the guy was 16 and waiting for them to tell him that he was the avatar but they told Sang he was
