I think she is alive, even though there was some evidence that she could be dead. She was just so nice, and if Ozai did kill her, I hate him even more. Zuko isn't a bad kid at all. He would of never tried to capture the avatar if he was banished. He was just shunned by his father and sister, and the only one who really loved him was his mom.

My friends and I think that Ozai killed Azulon and changed his will to be fire lord, but somehow Zukos mom found out and had to run away or risk being killed, either way it is still a mystery....

I think I agree with Katara... Although I can't be sure... But what if... The reason why they didn't kill Zuko's mom off was because she might teach Aang firebending?! (Wow, that was sudden.)

We don't even know if she was a Firebender or not. It's possible, though, I suppose... but she might not even be a Firebender.

Good point. I doubt Ozai would have married a non-bender. (I thought about that after I posted it.) He would have wanted to marry a Firebender, and possibly a strong one at that, to further his family line. You saw how he used it against Iroh when he was talking to Fire Lord Azulan...

If, and since we're talking theoretically, if Ursa was a Firebender, I don't know if she could have killed Azulan. Maybe if she caught him by suprise, but Ozai said that he was a prodigy. (*about Azula* "She is a true prodigy, just like her grandfather, for whom she is named.") Prodiges are rare, for that is why they are called prodigies, so it's unlkely that Ursa was one. I'm not sure that Ursa could have killed him, but if you take into consideration that he was an old man, and she a young woman, it is possible.

i don't think ursa killed azulon. i do think that she left though. she probably didn't die, and she'll probaly come back some time soon.

i doubt she offered herself in place for zuko...im sure fire lord ozai values the life of his wife more than his son, who isnt even as skilled as his daughter. her giving her life just doesnt make sense. my guess is that she fled, and will reappear in the show and be reunited with zuko.

I dont' want to sound stupid or anything, but apparently i missed something! how do you all know that Ozai was supposed to kill Zuko??? i've seen every episode, and i don't remember that. I believe i watched the episode w/ all the flash backs on You Tube, so it's possible the one i watched cut something out. Please Help! thanx.

Nothing was cut out. Azula talked about in "Zuko Alone." In reality Azula claims that Ozia will kill him. If we trust her own quote from Azulon, "You must know the pain of losing your first born." this doesn't necessarily mean that Ozia would do the killing. It could have just as easily been done by the fire lord or even an "accident". My theory is that Azulon was going to do it. Zuko's mom might have conspired with Ozia to kill Azulon to save Zuko. Ozia would have gone along with this because he could pin it on his wife and he could lie about Azulon's final wish. Zuko's mom disappears and Ozia becomes Fire Lord.

As for what happened to Zuko's mom, she ether A.) ran away or B.) was killed and no one talked about it. After all, they could have incinerated the body and spread the ashes.
