Well he befriends some kid, and we get to see his mom in a flashback, along with other information regarding his past.

It actually makes sense from the producer point of view. It gives the creators some flexibility in case they change their minds in the series and to get a feel for what the fan base thinks. It also leaves us with some mystery, especially with the introduction of Toph. I suspect that crush will be a running thing, not coming to bear fruit until book Air, or at the very least book Fire. I'm more interested in seeing what "The fury of the Avatar" will be like. Rumor has it there might be a character similar to mine (a professor).

anyways thanks for bringing it up, this whole time, i thought it aired june 14th, and i was so confused as to why i could not find the episode anywhere online.

maybe they should just save the kiss ti'll a bigger moment, i mean kissing in a cave? they should kiss if they're about to die or something(wich i hope won't happen) like anakin and padme did in episode II when they entered the coloseum, that would a good time, so they should make it like when zuko had his agni kai thing, but in a fire nation stadium,in other words aang and katara are going to be fed to fire nation monsers, and they kiss right before.

Well Aang will never live that long I think. During his last battle with fire lord he might have to sacrifice his life to save this world. After all it's always good ending to people but not to avatar. Poor Aang his character is created to give everything he got. Beside he is a monk, he might hold back his feeling for katara.
