Plot Update 10 March 2021

A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

So what did you think of "Appa's Lost Days?" I enjoyed it quite a bit. The actions of the Sandbenders was such that I am somewhat hoping there will be another flashback type episode in which we see that tribal leader's son get smacked around a bit. It was sad to see Appa suffer all the cruelties he did, it was sweet to see how he and Aang first met, and I liked the window into Airbender culture albeit a small one. There was suspense with the battle between Suki and Azula, and mystery in regards to both the message and what the Dai Li plan to do with Appa now (use him as leverage against Aang of course, but to what end?). Overall a very good episode.

Copper for your thoughts. :)

Between "City of Walls and Secrets", "Tales of Ba Sing Se", and "Appa's lost days", It seems to me like the writers are planning on something big happening. I don't know quite what, but it just seems to me like these episodes introduced enough new characters, settings, and plots to bring it all together at Book's close. I'm living for the nest Ep, Lake Laogai!

this episode drives me insane really. I am seriously bent on learnign everything i can and i kinda wished i wasnt addicted to the episodes this early and had waited until it finish, but ah well.

I really am dying to figure out what will happen to both suki and appa.

and when they titled it Appa's last days they almost seem to imply a hidden meaning of his death (cries)

I want to learn more about Guru Patic (sp?). I made a thread asking people's opinions, so don't say it here, because it's not the place. theavatarrp.proboards27.com/index.cgi?board=characters&action=display&thread=1160969615

I truly am curious which happened first, Appa getting captured or Aang and Co. meeting the dai Lee's leader (I can't remember his name.)

Perhaps there is an underground city, under Ba Sing Se. Thus why the writers didn't have the drill tunneling underground. Perhaps a clan that is against the Dai Lee or the Dai Lee's main facility with brain washing areas and Appa. Maybe that'll be where Lake Laogai will be. An undeground pool of water.

I really liked the episode. Very dramatic. It especially left me wondering what happened to Suki and the other Kioshi Warriors. We know that Azula and her friends left unscaved because they run into Team Avatar that the outer wall of Ba Sing Se later and they were not the worse for wear. I surely hope Suki and the others got away with their lives. If not, I'm sure Sokka will be more than a little heartbroken knowing another woman he cared for has suffered because of them.

I have a feeling they probably did escape but not without suffering some battle wounds. I can only imagine Sokka's reaction when he meets Suki again, which I'm sure he will do.

actually, since suki left aang and co. shortly before their encounter with the Drill. her friend had said, "Didn't you see the avatar a few days ago?" meaning that this was after the drill and Azula does not know that Aang and Co. are in Ba Sing Se.

Suki has met the "Team Avatar" before the Drill. I don't think she even knows about the Drill event. The warrior who asked that knew it simply because Suki must have talked to them about it (I mean, it's not a mockery or anything but, she's a girl, afterall. She must have talked to them about her kiss with Sokka too, I'm sure XD). Also, their weaponry and all must have been improved when they joined the army to fight in the war, because only fans to fight isn't enough. It's a shame they have been fought like that. I'm sure they escaped because Azula, Ty Lee and Mai don't care about them at all, they just foolowed the bison's fur to find the Avatar. Azula can't really be sure of the Aag gang to be in Ba Sing Se, but she's not stupid, she can guess it since they weren't here when the Drill approached just because the Drill was approaching. She can guess they were heading to Ba Sing Se. She doesn't know Zuko and Iroh are in Ba Sing Se, though. I'm happy because my character Joychi isn't the only one who is black, now. Guru Patic is there ! (I'm not the only one !!!!)

The Earth Spirit told it ! 8-)

I'm not really sure but I'm watching appa's lost days right now.I've seen it before but I like the way they show appa's emotion through his action. The truma appa experienced. Suki's unknown fate. Appa sure is a smart bison.

no, the newest episode has not aired, so you'll just have to wait like the rest of us until it is finally aired and we can watch it. I believe it is called Lake Laogai.

My attempt at clearing up a few things —

Hieu: It's "Appa's LOst Days", not "Appa's LAst Days." But I was confused about that at first as well.

Xia-di: (1) The Guru's name is Pathik, you were close. There is an upcoming episode called "The Guru" which is nearly guaranteed to explain everything. (2) I believe Aang and Co met Long Feng? (the leader of the Dai Lee) before Appa was captured, because in the scene where Appa reached Ba Sing Se, the lynx creatures that helped Momo find the footprint were on the roof watching him, and it was night. And we know the Tales of Ba Sing Se happened after meeting Long Feng.

Xia-di and Joychi: I'm pretty sure "Didn't you see the Avatar a few days ago?" referred to Suki travelling with them along the Serpent's Pass, in order to reach Ba Sing Se. The drill happened basically right after Suki left them to return to the warriors of Kyoshi, so while Suki probably doesn't know about the drill, that portion of Appa's Lost Days did happen after the drill.

Raansu - As Xia-di said, "Lake Laogai" is next but the air date is uncertain... Nickelodeon claims that "The Earth King", which is the episode following the Lake, will air on November 3, but it doesn't have a time listed for "Lake Laogai." For further discussion of the Lake episode please go to the thread for that which is in this board.

it could have happened the night of the party at the palace before Long Fe came to the party (that was at night too and something in his eyes seemed a little nervous, or "shifty".). the lynxes (what's the plural form of lynx?) could have seen Appa the day before they met Momo. or it could have been the night before Aang even reached Ba Sing Se. I was curious if you had any concrete proof.

I thought it was sad, especially when Appa was in the circus with that ridiculous outfit on. I was all, Appa, what have you gotten yourself into? Pun not intended. Any how, it was a pretty good episode, even though it was all about Appa, and none of the gang.
