A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

This was something I did not notice until after I rewatched "Zuko Alone." The family that Aang and his friends escorted over the Serpent's Pass are actually recurring characters of a sort. If you watch "Zuko Alone" there is a scene in which Zuko is starving and then smells food. He sees a man by a campfire with meat roasting over it. Instinctively he reaches for his weapons to steal the food and potentially kill the man in the process. However, he then sees the man walk over to his pregnant wife and so Zuko spares them. A few episodes later, they meet again in "The Drill" of course they don't recognize him and it would appear that he does not recognize them either, but if you look at the scenes again, you will see that they look identical, not just similar but identical. LOL Anyhow, just an interesting tidbit I stumbled on when I was rewatching "Zuko Alone" after I had watched the two Secret of the Fire Nation episodes.

Copper for your thoughts. :)

I noticed, and they are. And the daughter was hope. Um... Also: the cabbage man. He rocks.

"My cabbages!"

And half the time it's Aang's fault in some way. I know at least one person who hates the Avatar who isn't Fire Nation.

It is probably to show that Aang and Zuko's paths are connected. Zuko them and doesn't kill them, Aang helps them, Zuko meets them again. After all if Zuko killed them in Zuko Alone, they would have taken the barge, and Aang would not have regained his hope. Even though Zuko has stopped pursuing Aang then their paths will cross again.

Yeah, no kidding. I realized the other day that there are a lot of recurring characters that you don't really notice... I can't think of an example right now, but I will. Soon. *scratches head* Hmm.... Eh, hopefully I'll modify this post when I think of that certain example...
