Plot Update 10 March 2021

A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

I can't believe it. The second season is almost over. I am so sad, but yet so excited. So what do you think will happen? Will there be a zutara thing or will Aang confess to Katara? Who will teach Aang fire bending?
Post what you think here.

Aang had already learned Fire Bending, am I correct? By a .. man. I forgot his name. >_< But I am pretty sure he already knows Fire Bending. : | He burned Katara's hands, remember?

Please tell me if I am wrong.

I cannot wait for the season Finale! Woo! : ) Zutara Fluffiness' I eat it up! But I strongly like Kataang... >.< I sure hope Aang confesses... But I don't mind Zuko getting loved by Katara. I'm just happy either way. : )

^^no jeong jeong didn't teach Aang anything except control which wasn't exactly thorough.

I think A zutara will happen. I dont take sides so don't try and bash me or persuade me. Zutara is more logical and reasonable as a relationship, but Kataang is more traditional when it came to two people so close to love, but always pushed apart by some weird reason, but then again Aang is 112 and Katara is what? 14? 15 i cant remember

Aang will probably learn from Zuko who will instead of capture the avatar for honor will help the avatar over throw Ozai and restore not just honor, but some genuine respect. But mostly in fear lol

Yes, No doubt Zuko will teach Aang firebending.

I ti=hink now that Zuko has gone through his spiritual metamorphisis, he will finally be able to master the advanced techiques, like lightning. He will probably beat Azyla in the season finale or sometime in te beginning of the third season.

Does anyone know when the third season would start?? Like April?

More likely in February and I really hope its a Kataang(W/e) later on but anyways. I'm really psyched about hte Avatar state controlling thing with the Guru. I want to see how much Aang will develop as a result and also, has anyone noticed that Aang is probably a master Earthbender by now. Either that or he's really close. Which means his waterbending is also at that level meaning that Aang can do waht Roku wants him to do.

Yea I've noticed that slightly. And I'm proud for the creators of Avatar: the Last Airbender to not just suddenly make him so friggin' good at Water Bending, Earth Bending, because it would be such a downfall for Aang to just be able to Earth Bend at a master's level.
If that's confusing I'm sorry, I just finished watching a movie.. I hate horror movies.

But besides that.
I surely hope Azula get's her butt kicked! Out of the trio: Azula, Mai, and Ty Lee. I think I like Mai better. : ) Knives are cool <3

Does anyone else like Mai? (I also think it's cute when she had a crush on Zuko...or maybe she still does?)

Mai is awesome..... *changes avvie to something else* Yes, she rocks, but am an avid ZUTARA shipper, although I used to be VERY Kataang. Yeah, I know, it doesn't really make sense. But, if you saw the preview for the finale...... AAHHHHHH!!!! ZUTARA!!

I am sort of glad season two is ending because that means season three is coming and Aang will finally learn Firebending. I am almost 100 percent positive that Zuko will be Aangs Teacher and am hoping for the Zutara thing. Thats my thoughts and I really can't wait for the new season to start.

I'm betting on Iroh being Aang's Fire Bending TUTOR. Aang knows fire bending, just not very advanced, not to mention it takes Aang a while to actually conjure up fire.

Warn! Karena will be here any minute! Quick! Post something detailed and on topic!

So... in light of the season finale, and Toph's attitude toward Iroh, I'm thinking Iroh. Can anyone refute that? Can anyone tell me if he was on Appa as they left? And now Azula and Zuko are working together, are they going to change the name of the city? Who will head the goverment? And what is going to happen to the Earth-King? Will Aang still be the avatar, even? Well the last one is yes, though he shouldn't be cause the avatar cycle should have been broken. If Zuko goes home, will he be accepted? Is Zuko going to just plain be evil? Cause I like Zuko better when he's evil, and the happy thing was creepy.

As for romance, Zutara is dead. Dead completely, with no chance of returning, bygone and dead. Did I mention dead? Yes, and I've alreadyu expressed my feelings on the rest of the pairings, blah blah blah.

iroh was not on Appa. he held off the Dai-Lee, Azula, and Zuko as Katara carried Aang out. And it has never shown Aang conjure up any fire. When Jeong Jeong told him to keep the embers from reaching the leaf's edge, Aang pulled the fire from the leaf, but did not conjure up anything.

I think Zuko is backstabbing Azula. She left him alone with Iroh. And he seemed very unsure. Plus, he had his transformation last episode, so his first thought would be the right thing to do. And this is just like the first episode of the season, when Azula said Ozai was sorry or something like that, and wanted Zuko to return. Of course, this was just Azula's plan to get Iroh and Zuko on her boat (something about that last sentence sounded odd...). but this plan was foiled when a crewmember said something about prisoners, refering to zuko and iroh.

A few notes. Avatar Roku's exact (paraphrased) words were "If you die in the Avatar State, the chain will be broken, and the Avatar will cease to exist." So, having let go of Katara :-[, Aang is now in control of the Avatar State, which is why when he was shot with lightning he left the Avatar State in surprise. But he didn't die, and as far as I'm concerned the Avatar State didn't either. What makes this so interesting is that perhaps the Avatar State isn't the way to go on this, and given how bad Aang was against Azula all those times, that's a scary thought.

Anyone think that Azula knows about the secrets of the Avatar State? (conspiracy theory forming...)

I will say the plot twists of the final episode were utterly amazing, I never saw any of it coming. And the makers of the show are really good at that, so I really don't think that it will be Zuko or Iroh that teaches Aang firebending. Could it be... Azula?!? mwa ha ha. I'm semi-serious, and here is my reasoning. Azula has a throne of her own now, and like her father she seeks power. Couldn't it be feasible that she would help Aang learn to firebend so that all of them could overthrow Ozai? Well okay maybe it's not, but that was my original thought.

There's my two cents. Agree with or bash it, whichever you prefer. ;-)

Hug?
I have always thought that Azula would make a great fire lady, and do a much better job than Ozai. I don't think she would teach Aang, but if he thinks that defeating the Fire Lord will stop the war, he is wrong! Azula is every bit as power hungry and malicious as Ozai, thank you very much!

Okay, here are some thoughts and things to lookout for in Season 3.

- What happened to Suki and the other Kyoshi Warriors. Eventually, Sokka is going to have to ask himself this question, and if he truly cares about her, he is going to have to go and find out for himself.

- Now that Ba Sing Se has fallen, what will the Southern Water Tribe Warriors do? With no support from the Earth Kingdom, they could be cut off and crushed rather easily. Either Sokka or Katara needs to warn them before it's too late.

- Where will the Earth King go? With no kingdom and no army, where can the king go? My guess is either the Eastern Air Temple or the North or South Pole.

- Now that the Earth Kingdom has fallen, will the Fire Nation turn their attention towards the Water Tribes again? The Fire Nation failed twice to defeat the Northern Water Tribe but now with the rest of the world under their control, they can focus all their efforts on the North Pole. Will Aang be able to save them again?

- Will we see a rematch between Azula and Katara? With enough water at her disposal, Katara owned Azula during their battle in the season finale. Will we see a rematch and if we do, where and will it truly be decisive this time?

- Does Katara now realize just how much Aang truly means to her? Aang has loved Katara for a long time now, and while she loves him as well, it has been more like family, like he was her younger brother or cousin or something. I believe seeing Aang struck down awakened deeper feelings in her for him. Will she be bold enough to let him know how she feels? Will she be heartbroken when Aang tells her he loved her once but no more?

- How will Zuko change or will he? I envision Iroh in changes aboard a Fire Nation ship being sent home as a traitor and Zuko aboard the same ship as a hero. Over the course of multiple episodes, Zuko goes and talks with his Uncle in his cell, eventually realizing the error of his way and setting Iroh free, overthrowing the crew and setting sail to find the avatar to help him in his struggle to restore balance to the world.

- I would expect to see a terrifying episode with thousands of Fire Nation troops being set into Ba Sing Se by the Dai Li and the people in a panic, but because of its great walls, no one can escape. Will the army resist? Can they without the generals? Will Aang and the others return to try and save the people?

- At some point, I believe we'll see another episode take place at Omashu (New Ozai). Boomi has had plenty of time to wait and listen. Will Omashu become the new stronghold of freedom?

- At some point Aang will need to learn firebending. Who will teach him? Jeong Jeong, Iroh, Zuko? In terms of personalities, I think the best teacher he could have would be Iroh. But because this is a kids show (technically speaking), the kids don't want to see an old man hanging around with their heroes, it will probably end but being Zuko. Of course, I don't see Katara ever trusting Zuko again, so perhaps not.

- Assuming there are still two seasons left to the show, Book 3: Fire and Book 4: Air, and assuming Aang will not defeat the Fire Nation until the end of Book 4, I think we can assume, that the first half of next season will see the gang on the run most of the time. Not too much different from the past two seasons I guess, but they always had places they could go that were still Earth Kingdom strongholds that were safe for them. I think such strongholds will be few and far between now. Most of the rest of the Earth Kingdom probably requires trade with Ba Sing Se an order to sustain themselves. With Ba Sing Se under Fire Nation control now, they will have little choice but to submit to Fire Nation rule. Life is about to become much more dangerous for Aang and the others.

- Will there come a point where Aang tells his friends, go home? If things do continue to get more and more dangerous, will his concern for his friends cause him to say goodbye to them? And if they refuse to leave him, will he run away from them like he did at the Southern Air Temple?

Well, there you have it, at least 12 ideas that may crop up in some form or other in the coming season. I'm hopeful that things will workout somehow, and balance will be restored to the world but things look awfully dark right now and I don't know if there is any true reason to be optimistic.

A few other things I'd like to point out. Both Toph and Katara have gotten so very powerful of the course of the season (especially Katara since Toph was already a very powerful earthbender). And I don't think their is any sign of them stopping. It's kind of frightening to imagine just how powerful these two young ladies may eventually become. I have a strong feeling that in the end it will not be Aang alone who defeats Ozai and the Fire Nation but a team of benders, Aang, Katara, Toph, and probably Zuko who will wage war and defeat the Fire Nation once and for all. Just the thought. ;D

Okay, I still don't think Aang has leanred how to controll the avatar state. When Avatar Kyoshi goes into it she goes into it ver fast and then comes out and does her attack. Avatar day episode, just watch. If the avatar cycle is broken then i'd be mad, i think it would make a great movie, like the next avatar!

it was a sort of pause for dramatic effect. to show that everyone (except Azula) is afraid of Aang on the inside. she reacted with a quick decision and precise bending.

thoughts on aamishi's thoughts:

  • I think during the next battle they have, Sokka will be flipping out, swinging wildly, yelling "Wheres Suki!" or sumthin of the sort.

  • the warriors never resceived aid for earth kingdom warriors. Ba Sing Se kept all their troops in Ba Sing Se

  • Id guess the north pole. best protection, plus dont bears like the cold? not necessarily north pole cold, but like in mountainy regions. GO BOSCO!

  • the south pole has no protection. sokka and katara were the last warriors their. without aang, Zuko and his buddies couldve ripped it to shreds. but then again, Master Pakku had gone their to help rebuild the sister tribe, so it could be stronger than it once was and with a few strong water benders along with a few of those little kids possibly learning some.

  • i doubt the battle being decisive. unless they choose to make it the final episode of the season.

  • she probably does. did you notice the way she looked like the maiden on the front of a pirate's boat? she was so sad...

  • Azula will probably want to kill Iroh as fast as possible. Reason 1: She insulted him when she was only like 10, showing that she has never liked him. Reason 2: She knows hes a threat. Reason why she may not: She doesn't want to cause Zuko to freak out at her. plus, shed never leave them on a ship, unless she was on it too.

  • azula will probably try to keep it quiet. she has already considered herself queen of ba sing se it seems. shell probably take over the army, keep the dai lee doing what they love best; brainwash people who disagree. this way, she has no fear of ppl taking up arms in a homicidal attempt at saving the city. Ba Sing Se is enormous. there are probably millions of people living within its walls, plus more and more refuges each day

  • thats kinda obvious. Boomi is a crazy genius! who better to be their tactitian? plus the city didnt seem to have the best defenses, and the Omashu rebels have probably started a siege, not allowing supplies to enter the city.

  • well, theres plenty of time for that. it was a fair number of episodes into the 2nd season before Aang even met Toph.(i believe 6 episodes) And he didnt start learning for awhile (episode 9: Bitter Work). i got this feeling they'll go to Guru Patic (to heal Aang. he seems fairly good with herbs and stuff) and Jeong Jeong will be there. he could have been there all along, wanting aang to master the avatar state before resuming his training. Avatar Roku has contacted Jeong Jeong before.

  • the gang could live in hiding with in the three locations u mentioned earlier, the north and south pole, and the eastern air temple (and there is a fourth air temple that has not been visited yet, so they may go there at some point). building up their strength, training, yada yada.

  • doubt it. with a master water and earth bender at each of his sides, he is in a much better bet this way. and sokka wont leave the group.

looks like ive made a response to all of your thoughts. so i dont think i got anything else to say.
