SPOILER WARNING!!!
So far, I'm not at all disappointed with the season, and I especially liked this last episode, because you can sort of feel it starting to set the stage for the big climax.
I have to agree, Aang's headband looked really cool, and Katara's fire nation outfit was... well... HOT!( no pun intended) Can she please stay like that for the rest of the season? And, of course Sokka, hilarious as always.
Now I'll move on to the relationship issue, as I've seen quite a bit of Zutarians out there and it makes me wonder what exactly you guys see that would suggest that Zuko and Katara would be together in the end. Firstly, when Zuko and Mai were alone, while I do not remember the actual lines, I'm pretty sure they pretty much told each other how much they liked one another. It looked as if it was coming from somewhere deeper too. I mean, if I remember correctly, Zuko smiled... How many times have we seen Zuko smile? Especially with his avatar situation going on. So unless Mai breaks it, I fail to see how that relationship would all of sudden dissolve allowing Zuko to fall in love with Katara.
Now, moving on to the Aang - Katara scene, I think it was brilliantly done. Firstly, has anyone else noticed that Aang seems to have grown up a lot all of a sudden? He's not that silly kid anymore, and appears a lot more confident, especially around girls... One point to prove this is the way he asked Katara to dance. I can't imagine the old Aang doing that, or setting up the party for that matter. He was very confident in asking her.
There is no real evidence so far this season, that Zutara is a possibility. So because of all this, I personally think that Zutara is just wishful thinking, placing the main heroine with the "cutest" looking guy, and if that's the case, by all means, don't let me get in your way.

This season is wonderful so far, in my opinion. Although not much has happened, in the two episodes they are at least somewhat building up the plot each time, giving us something to look forward to for next week's episode. What I'm trying to say is, without the little bit at the end and the parts where Zuko visited Iroh, the episode wouldn't really have had much of a point. Well, it would show that Kataang and Maiko were canon, but that really wouldn't be moving anything along the storyline. I think that Mike and Bryan are trying to have a serious plot, while keeping the general entertainment that Avatar has always possessed.
Aang does seem a bit older, but at the Fire Nation school, it made him seem young again. Not because he acted young, but the students seemed to have. Maybe it was just their height and the pitch in their voices, but they seemed like third graders, in a sense. I'm glad he did get to go to school though, as he truly enjoyed and seemed to make a few friends. Even if they gave him skeptical looks after he began dancing, which was hilarious. I agree with Eji that Aang does seem to have grown up, attitude wise and somewhat appearance wise. His headband is totally cute, although Sokka still remains my one and only Avatar crush xD Have you noticed his hair this season? He seems to be growing it longer a bit on the sides, which makes hime seem older, too. They all are growing up.
What bothers me though is that there has been no sight of Ty Lee yet! This could be a good thing, or a bad thing. Sadly, I'm guessing a bad thing. Her character is entertaining and quite cute, but, for some reason, I don't believe she will be a big part of this season, as much as I wish she was. It used to be that Azula was in the spotlight while Mai and Ty Lee were in the background. Now that Mai seems to be together with Zuko now, though, they just kinda left Ty Lee to herself. There was a reference of her, though. "Mai, I think Ty Lee needs help unknotting her braid." Or something of the sorts. I just wished she'd show up soon.

Spoilers Warning
I like the episodes so far. We see Fire Lord Ozai's face, Mai and Zuko really seem serious about thier relationship(Maiko forever!), and it looks like Katara and Aang are going to get together.
Seriously, where did Sokka get the hair for that beard(Scratch that I don't want to know.) I seriously thought the Kataangs would be out for blood when that fire nation girl started taking an intrest in Aang. Lastly we get to see a new um ah hm? I want to say face but then again what kind of face has three eyes.....yeesh!

I really, really, really loved it when Zuko smiled. And kissed Mai. And when Katara kissed Aang, it was the cherry on top.
Oh, not for those reasons, of course.... I just liked it because it was great icon and manip material.... *is shot by kataang and maiko fans* Well, whatever.
BUT ZUKO GIGGLED ZOMG!!!!!! I laughed so hard when he giggled....

I liked this episode alot. It's about time we learned a bit more about the Fire Nation, like the National Oath. The school, once I started thinking about it, was exactly like what I expected it to be like. The way the kids are so controlled, so afraid of having personalities, reminds me alot of a school I used to go to.
The dance party was great. The way they had the dances from the different nations and the almost sparing like dance was great. And the gAang does seem to have grown and matured. The clothes they were wearing, pure love! Although, to me, at the beginning of Avatar, it was just getting to spring. And at the end of the summer is the comet. So it hasn't gone through a whole year even, but they have aged more then that, more then a couple of months or whatever it has been. Anyone else notice this?

Well thus far I got to say Headband is my favorite of the two because...
SPOILER! SPOILER! SPOILER!
Aang can dance and when he's not trying to distract Foo-Foo Cuddly-Poops' mom he can do it well.
Everyone was rocking their Fire Nation attire.
The 'trick question' was a cool way to show war propaganda at work, molding(lying) the young ignorant minds of the Fire Nation future.
I'm not a fan of Zutara, but that little picnic was a heavy on the cheese. It flew past sweet and into tooth decay with Zuko's comment on how he loved how Mai hated the world or something like that.
Sokka pretending to be Aang's father. He was obviously having too much fun and I wondered too where the hair for that beard came from.
Now Zuko and Iroh.. -.-' I don't understand how he can betray his uncle and have to nerve to be angry at Iroh for refusing to talk to him.
Finally Aang and Katara's dance! I might still be on a HSM2 high and just am in love with all forms of dancing, but that was the highlight of the episode for me.
One more thing-Aang's headband was actually the belt for his uniform. Don't know why I find that weird, but I do.

I think that when they "borrowed" the clothing, Aang didn't know it was a belt. So he put it around his head, thinking that it had no other use. And once he found out, he couldn't change it.
Another think that bothered me, when Azula came when Mai and Zuko were getting kissy-faced, the line she used, "Oh Mai, I think Ty Lee needs some help untangling her braid." or whatever, why would she leave for that? Unless it was to laugh at Ty Lee, I can't see her character doing that. So why did she leave? Unless it was code for get out of here, or they had agreed it meant something to that extent, then I see no reason she left.
I was watching shows from Season Two, when they were arranging the coup. Azula has to be planning something now, not just helping Zuko. She planned everything out for the coup, I don't believe that she just wants to help. Anyone else feel this way?

Eh, I just don't think the relationships will last..... Kataang probably will, but Maiko just seems like M+B took it straight out of some fanfic. *can't get over the zuko giggle* I mean.... he was smiling... And I kind of think Azula's behind it.... I mean, it just seems like another thing she can hold over Zuko's head. And, if Zuko has to leave to seek Ursa, it just doesn't seem like it's going to last....
However, I have made some lovely icons. ^_^

Azula's up to something. She's always up to something.
Zuko's always been ... expendable... to her. And with the look that exchanged between Mai and Azula as Mai left for a completely innocuous reason ... a reason Mai would not have left for (If she truely -was- enjoying herself with Zuko), jus SCREAMS to me 'Set-up". But I'm not sure Zuko's as stupid as he's pretending to be (Though Gullable does seem to be his middle name). He may just be playing along, trying to figure out what it is Azula -really- wants.
She gave herself away; for her love of manipulating people, and Zuko in particular, the night He barged in and asked why she'd told Ozai that he had been the one to kill the Avatar. "All that honor... all that glory would turn to shame ..."
I think she wants Zuko to be as humiliated and ostricized as he can be. Why? Azula is her father's daughter. She's as power hungry and conniving as he ever was... and what did Ozai want? The throne. What do I think Azula wants? You guessed it. The throne. To get it, she's got to make sure Zuko is not a factor, while keeping her own hands clean. She's perfectly capable of putting something like that together.
Why pair Mai up with Zuko? She's not sure the Avatar is alive, or dead. Neither is Zuko. Mai, as a lover, would likely be able to get information out of Azula's older brother she couldn't have gotten otherwise. Not without looking suspicious. IT serves several purposes. Keep her brother distracted, and get information. Azula wants to know what Zuko's up to, when he's up to it, and why he's up to it. Mai is the perfect tool for that.
I don't know if I've mentioned it yet.... but I -really- don't like Azula. The trouble is, she's the smartest 'bad guy' I think I've ever seen in a cartoon series. She doesn't give away her plots, laugh maniacally or have sharks in a tank waiting to eat the goodie-two-shoes. She's quietly and masterfully manipulting both her father and Zuko and setting things up to her advantage.
I don't think Aang has to worry too much about Ozai. I think his real worry will have to be Azula, in the end. She's a fire-bending genius with her eyes on the prize. I'll bet you anything, if she could get away with just killing Zuko outright, she probably would have already.
I'm sure that Iroh will be the Fire-bender to join the fight against Ozai and Azula. If he survives. And hopefully Zuko will come to his senses before Mai breaks his heart.
Anyway. Just my two cents.
