Plot Update 10 March 2021

A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

Has nick stopped showing Avatar in favor of inferior nicktoons? Because everytime I'm supposed to record avatar (or Danny Phantom)) its either Spongebob or Fairly odd Parents! I cannot stand it. First they delay the next season to who knows when, and now they won't even show it! I feel like I'm drowning in Avatar withdrawal, the only way to see it is turbonick, which has bad graphics! Someone throw me a lifeline and explain what's happening!

According to the schedule of what I've seen, Avatar is on from 11am-12pm on Saturday. Then it is on from 11-11:30am on Sunday. It looks like those are the only times the show is on Nick currently, which sucks.

It used to be on at 2pm on weekdays on NickToonsTV, but that was taken off in favor of Martin Mystery (which is a mystery to me). It still plays at 6:30pm on NickToonsTV. I miss the days when it played at 2pm on NickToonsTV and then I'd catch it at 4:30 on Nick. Double the Avatar. But now they've ruined that too.

Their scheduling does really bother me. I've heard horror stories from when they'd be showing new episodes at 8pm on Fridays, only to have it start late because of some sort of Spongebob event or some other show running late.

I'm feeling the Avatar withdrawal as well. I just wish it was on more often. It never seems to be on when I'm around and when it is, it's skipped five episodes. Because I started watching late (and though I am very obsessed with this show) I've only seen episodes from here and there.

It would be nice if they could come out with some more dvd's sometime. I enjoyed the Avatar marathons my brother had. :)

Just to make you all feel bad, I'd like to point out that that is why I got TiVo. I love it. I just look up my favorite episodes, and record them. Then, when I feel like watching reruns, I watch them. *rubs faces into dirt* Muahaha. Okay, that was mean. Anyhow, when will the new season start. Isn't the first episode "The Headband" or something? That SO screams Haru to me. It should be titled: "The Shmexy Headband"

Yeah, yeah, some of us can't afford no fancy TiVo. I use an old fashioned VCR (what's that?). ;) I was able to get a bunch of Season 2 on tape and I own Season 1. I just like the convenience of turning on the TV and going, "Hey, Avatar is on!"

I digress. There's still no news regarding the start of Season 3 (although director Giancarlo Volpe did a mean April Fool's joke about it on his DeviantArt account). They're working on it. I'm betting September now. Really cruel, yes. But I would rather be pleasantly surprised by a summer start than disappointed by a fall start. From what I heard, the first episode would be entitled "The Awakening," though "The Headband" is one of the first five. I'm still hestitant to believe any of it, I'm more of a "wait and see" sort.

And I can't "wait" to "see" Season 3. I'll just sit over here impatiently until it starts, watching my DVDs and badly recorded VHS tapes. :) Oh, and staring at Rufftoon's Avatar art. She is awesome.

Oh now you've made me all green with envy. I have satellite but it's really not all it's cracked up to be...
Avatar's on at the same time it is for all you guys. I watched it this morning though so I'm feeling a sense of fulfillment at the moment at least. :D

I'm really excited for the new season. It just takes so long...it is traditional animation after all. I think I looked at how long it takes to make just one episode and how much it costs...I can't remember where but it was mind boggling. :o

Yes, but..... THEY STILL NEED TO GET OFF THEIR LAZY ASSES AND MAKE ME A NEW SEASON. With Zutara. I'd say other things, but I don't think they'd put those in a kids series...... Yeah, the majority of the people who watch Avatar are actually YOUNG! Mind boggling, I know..... Well, I think I will go TiVo my Avatar eppies soon.... *grins evilly* Don't worry, I'll tell you all about them. If Zutara happens in the 3rd season, I will die. Happily. But, isn't the season supposed to come out in spring? Liars.

The scheduling woes are actually not at the fault of the studio for not making the epsidoes fast enough. From what I heard, Nickelodeon waited a little longer in picking up the show's 3rd season, so they had to start late. The creators, writers and animators are working hard on Season 3 as we speak (and I heard have at the very least completed the first episode), but when the show actually airs is all up to Nickelodeon. And from what I can gather, Nickelodeon is absolutely nutty when it comes to scheduling. They'll change entire schedules without notice, and put on marathons of shows that don't need marathons, run shows late when that needn't happen.

So, just, y'know be mad at Nick excecs and their hesitation in renewing the show (are they mad?!) and being all silent when it comes to the Season 3 premier instead of the guys that are hard (very hard) at work making the show as fast as they can.

At best we'll get something in May (and this is a longshot, I feel), otherwise, I'd say don't hold your breath for Season 3 premiering anytime before September. Ugh, it hurts to say that.
