A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

I don't think I saw this in any other thread here, so I was wondering...anybody checked this out yet?

www.avatarescape.com

Each of the four chapters corresponds with an element and a past Avatar, so we get to check out a waterbender Avatar and airbender Avatar (that isn't Aang!). It also takes place (sort of) at the end of Season 2, during Crossroads of Destiny. Each chapter ends with a little animated comic. They're releasing a new one each week for the whole month of Februrary, along with a sweepstakes (they've been advertising it like mad on NickToons TV and Nick whenever I'm catching Avatar). They also give out passwords to get to the comics.

Without spoiling anything here, I gotta say that the second comic blew my mind! Seriously. It made me formulate a theory on who to blame for everything in the Avatar universe.

Does anyone think this is a promotional thing in preparation for a March start up of Season 3? This thing runs for the whole month of Februrary, and contains new content pertaining to the history and current storyline. Maybe it's just wishful thinking on my part, but I'm hoping that the conclusion of Escape from the Spirit World will coincide with a Season 3 premier. ;D

I had that same though as well! I haven't seen the second comic yet myself, I did do the first little game for the first comic though. I intend to play it again tonight to see the second one. It's an interesting little set of tidbits and stories about the past avatars.

It strikes me as confirming the idea that Aang being lightning-bolted in the Avatar Form did some damage to the past lines. I think the idea is that the game is a bridgeway between season 2's ender and season 3's opener, so I'm seriously hoping it means a March season premier and not an April like I've seen floating around the 'net.

Edit: I want to add that the fact that the contest for the gift pack with DvDs and toys and stuff is only open to kids under 14 is soooooo not fair -pouts-

If you haven't seen the other comic because you do not know the passwords I will tell you what they are:
Chapter 2: Pathik
Chapter 3: Bosco
All the other comics are supposedly fillers to connect the avatars with somethings that have been seen in the series and to give the names of two previous avatars( Kuruk and Yangchen, you can figure out which one is water and which one is air).

They say that Avatar Kyoshi lived for 230 years !!! (ALL HAIL AVATAR KYOSHI !!!) But they also said that she created the Dai-Li. It's not really her fault if they became the worst Earthbenders, they have been trained to protect the cultural heritage of the city, and they had to obey. If the one who commands them has bad purposes, they have to follow... That's too bad, though. Does anyone have an idea about the next password ?

well, the passwords have no real meaning unless you count the fact that Pathik- the part about Roku mastering his avatar state
Bosco- Heibei(the panda bear) helping Aang find Kyoshi.

It has to be someting very important to the water avatar, maybe the moon so Yue? or the fact atht he's in Ko's area...maybe it is Koh?

It used to be Kuruk, but too many people figured it out. YouTube had the comic up as of a day or two ago if you just looked it up under 'Kuruk.' The next password proper should be released on Saturday.

Avatar Kyoshi is now the source of all answers with Avatar. Think about it. Lived the longest, biggest feet, created Kyoshi Island, Kyoshi Warriors AND the Dai Li. Woman did everything! I blame her for everything now.

As for Kuruk...his story doesn't really answer any questions, but does elaborate a little bit on a few things.

Genshuku, watch the length of your post.

WARNING: MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS !!
I don't think the passwords are based on what enshuku said. It's related indirectly to Koh's questions (I think) Watch this:
PATHIK: Koh's question was "Where did they first learn about the pat Avatars and the cycle" and the answer was "The Southern Air Temple" (Sorry for the spoilers for those who still haven't made it). Gru Pathik lives at the Eastern Air Temple so they're indirectly linked.
BOSCO: Koh's question was about The name of the Spirit that looked like a panda and it was Hei-Bai. Bosco is a bear and a panda is like a bear (I think it could be considered a bear, but I'm not sure, I don't remember)

The question in Koh's Realm was about the name of the foxes that were collecting books for the Library (I don't exactly remember the question) and the answer is "Knowledgeseekers" (again, I'm sorry for those who aren't there yet). So I think the password is linked to either the Knowledgeseekers or the fact that they are foxes (or maybe the fact thatthey working for Wan Shi Tong, or the fact that they live in the Desert, there are too much links to explore...)

I know the next one! To Chapter three I even tried it!

SPOILERS

Okay to get into the water the code is: Kuruk (How creative I know) THAT IS SOMETHING REALLY SAD PEOPLE!! And I think I know chapter fours.

MORE SPOILERS

Okay, since we know nothing abou the last two avatar's (Kuruk and Yangchen) I think the last one is Yangchen. But these stories will OBIVOUSLY have to do with the March series. The Dai Li started because of Kyoshi, (no one knew that in Ba Sing Se?) and then Koh in the cave had Ummi's (Sp?) face so.... If we see Koh again MAYBE we get to see the Kuruk who (hopefully like other avatars) will help. Someway. Somehow.

So that's what I think/know.

OKAY ONE QUESTION:

On the animated shot School Time shipping, what is that password?

[glow=white,2,300]Shio Edit: The code for the STS is Koh.[/glow]

There's an extra this week, a fully animated short called "School Time Shipping." Using the codeword Koh will get you access to it and I gotta say it is one of the cutest, funniest things I've seen in a while.

It's full of hilarious quotes, the new VO for Iroh (not too bad, though I can definitely notice the difference), and a twist ending. The Avatar fellas have a great sense of humor when it comes to the 'shipping wars.' The little catfight was totally worth it. Sokka is such a playa.

Not quite sure what they mean by advertising an "Escape from the Spirit World" week on NickToons TV. There haven't been enough episodes for an entire week. At any rate, I'll be checking that out to see what is what.

But, really, check out School Time Shipping. It is really, really funny.

OMG! That "School Time Shipping" short was SO FUNNY!!!!! ;DAs for the new Iroh VO, Not too shabby if I do say so myself, Sounds almost identical to the real thing. :D Also, I thought Zuko was the blue spirit? ???

Well, Anyways, I guess I better shut up now before I spoil too much of the short for anybody else who hasn't seen it yet. :-[

I've watched that cartoon multiple times and it still cracks me up. The new VO for Iroh is pretty good, although I can tell that it isn't him. His emphasis is just a little different. But, I think the guy is overall really good and should handle the part of Iroh admirably.

Some Spoilers regarding the end of the short below.

The thing about the ending...I thought maybe the Blue Spirit is a representation of Season 2 Zuko. Or...maybe even Zuko doesn't want Zuko to succeed and he is basically defeating himself. I know this isn't really something to read into and the whole thing was done to be ship friendly. But really, Zuko is his own worst enemy, right? ;)

That short has left me with a bevy of new quotes to use. And the knowledge that Iroh is left handed. Yay!

actually Ai LIn, i wouldn't take too much from teh short or the comics cause I heard that Nick announced that the comics are non-canon adn as is the short. That is until they so...that'll be interesting...and Yangchen's is still not up unfortuntely. I really want to see her in action...and according to Avatar Spirit, there are two more shorts coming one hopefully being the 'golden Dragon Dance'.

Where did you hear that the comics weren't considered canon? I know that the short definitely isn't, while it is a fun piece. But the comics? It seems strange Nick would set up these comics and promotional event, set in a specific time in the series, and bothering to answer a few questions along the way, but that they don't really count at all.

I did read on Avatar Spirit that there should be two more shorts before this whole thing is over. I'm hoping that one of the other ones features Toph actually doing something. The shorts need more Toph.

I don't think Toph will be in the shorts (maybe a little figurative, just like Iroh). But I don't think they made Katara choose the Blue Spirit just because Zuko is his own enemy. I think it's just because it's funny. Zuko doublecrossing himself ("I did not see that coming !") and Katara choosing his alter ego over himself and Aang. Maybe it has something to do with the next season, but I don't think so. It's a comic short ("School Time Shipping"). But if Haru ends up with Ty Lee, that'll be funny ;D (I was dead of laughing).

OK, to stay on-topic, I think we'll see Avatar Kuruk again. Koh told Aang "We'll meet again". We see Koh in the Escape from the Spirit World but I bet we'll see him in the show too. If Kuruk is really hunting Koh, Aang —> Koh —> Kuruk (and maybe even Ummi). I'd like to know what Yangchen will tell us. If it has to do with some other character from the show who is still alive and who we have already seen, then we'll see her again.

Yeah, I loved the short. It was really cute! And while that's definitely not canon, the comics are. They have to be! Why else would Nick make them up?

How in the world did Kyoshi live to be 230 years old? I mean, I've seen old, but that's just OLD. Maybe she was frozen in an iceberg for a hundred years too. ;) Lol.

I can't wait for this Saturday! We'll finally get to see Yangchen's video. This should be interesting... And it'll also probably show how Aang escapes the spirit world and heals his Avatar spirit.

i thought the ending short was a little dissapointing, I didn't like how yangchen didn't tell a story, and show her bending styles. I think that it was okay though, it wrapped up the little mini shorts very sell.

I thought the little mini avatar character short was hilarious. "Don't make me unleash the power of the moon on you." LOL

BTW my old id was fireprodigy, just ot those of you who might laready know me, I don't remember any of these names. Nice to meet you. :)

I was wondering this too. Then again, Bumi is somewhere around 112 and still kickin'. So it seems that some powerful benders live to be very very old without too much of an issue. The normal-average age for most of the citizens of Avatar doesn't seem to be that old though. I have to wonder if it's bending-related then; that powerful benders live longer.

Over all I liked all the shorts though, they bridge the gap between Season 2's finale and the (hopefully soon) start of Season 3 I think. I was a little disappointed too though that Yangchen just sort of lectured, rather than telling some story about her own past - we don't know a whole lot about her.

I was also a little dsiappointed of how the Water comic didn't have any fun facts about Kuruk. I mean, Water is my favorite element! I LOVE THE SHORT! It's so funny!

Suki: Hey, I saw him first! (Pshing, sound of metal fans)
Yue: Don't make me use my moon powers on you!
