Ren’ai watched Yuri expertly block her attack; she expected nothing less from her friend. The Firebender moved out of the way of her friend’s attacks, turning her body so that the attack to her shoulder went right by her. She saw the second attack after that, sail right where her left leg would be. Luckily, she had moved the other way, or that would have been a bit more difficult to avoid. That’s how she had gotten hit in the hip last time, and how Yuri had gotten slightly singed. At least her teammate and best friend seemed okay now, and likewise, she didn’t feel any pain her hip. Both were simply minor pains, and they were not going to cause them any last injuries.

Ren’ai then turned her attention to Mitsuko. She could see the other girl’s traditional style in the way she moved, but she seemed to be adjusting rather well. She had good natural movement, which was something that was a definite plus for having her join the team. She saw the droplets that the Waterbender sent and avoided those. She saw a water whip headed her way, too, and she moved to the side to avoid that as well. Yes, she was thinking more and more than this girl would work quite nicely. After all, they were all around the same age, she seemed in good shape, and had nice natural sills. Maybe this would work out after all…

Ren’ai got back into position and immediately sent a fireball towards Yuri’s right side. She then immediately sent one towards her left, as well. Immediately, the Firebender turned her body towards Mitsuko and sent a Fireball towards her chest, and another towards her legs, before sending one towards the right of her. She then got back into defensive position, ready for whatever the other two ladies sent towards her.

Yuri could feel her own hope rising in her chest at this situation as she watched Mitsuko out of the corner of her eye. She was pleased that the Waterbender was able to put enough pressure and power into her bending to keep her attacks at bay. If anything she wanted to see more of what this young woman was made of, just to make sure that her own hopes were not misplaced. At least she was nimble on her feet which was always good, besides the green eyed woman had been waiting for awhile for someone with enough skill to put Ren'ai in her place. In her eyes it would have to be the opposite element to be the most effective. And she did want to see that happen for sure. Because she had yet to meet one that was able to do it so far.

The Earthbender was still on guard while watching and waiting for someone to to make their move. With them working in a pattern it was easy to to anticipate who was next. Yet she was unwilling to focus all of her attention on just one of her opponents. It took her a second to slam her own foot down and bring up a rock large enough to block Mitsuko's attacks, because she was going to face her head on and not back down. If anything she wanted to see more footwork out of her so it would only be right to make her prance a bit.

Yuri still had her small makeshift shield and used it to block Ren'ai's fist fireball while shifting her body to avoid the second attack. The excretion of exercising like this felt good to her. Getting ready to attack she cast aside her shield and sent a fist sized rock towards Mitsuko's left knee, next a rock double that sized aimed at her feet. She made sure to echo her attacks on her best friend before getting into her defensive position and ready for what was next.

Mitsuko watched as Ren'ai dodged the attacks, her skill was becoming more and more evident. She was relieved she had spent so much of her time training, if she hadn't she wouldn't have been even close to being on par with them. Ren'ai moved quickly and precisely, continuously sending attacks that, with one wrong move, could knock Mitsuko off her feet. The longer the match went on, though, the more her own hopes grew that perhaps she could make it onto the team.

Ren'ai's attack this time, made it difficult to dodge them all, if she didn't move quick enough she'd be hit. However, there was one thing she could do that would erase the need to move really at all. The only problem was that she'd need more water for it, lucky enough for her there was plenty that surrounded her. In an effort to save the remainder of the water that she brought with her in the pouch that was slung around her waste, she quickly moved her arms out in front of her and brought them from one side of her body to the other. Having pulled enough water from the air and ground around her, Mitsuko brought it up and formed a mini version of the octopus form. It was a move that looked simple on the surface but nearly every Waterbender knew that it took a decent amount of skill to perform. Using the whip-like limbs of water she extinguished the fire as it came towards her before centering her balance. She decided not to stop the form just yet as, with how things had been going so far, Yuri would be sending an attack next.

Immediately she eyed the Earthbender and watched as two differing sized rocks came flying towards her. The instant they got close to her, Mitsuko brought the tendrils of water down upon them, effectively splitting them before they could reach her. Now that it was her turn to be on the offensive, she shifted both her position and the water that surrounded her. Moving her arms in an pattern that went up and down before quickly transferring to left then right, she was able to shift the octopus form into a high speed ring of water that moved around her body. After this, Mitsuko sent out individual shards of ice towards Ren'ai before sending out a few short blasts of water towards her abdomen and then her right foot. Pivoting slightly, she faced Yuri and repeated the same movements before bending the remaining amount of water into her pouch to conserve it. Once she had done so, Mitsuko shifted into a defensive position yet again.
