OOC: This RP is taking place right after the dinner with Mako at Kuang's Cuisine (immediately afterwards)

Another day of hard work at the Future Industries. The whistle blew throughout the whole factory, signaling the end of today's work shifts and sending everyone back home to have dinner with their families. And Mr.Sato was longing for the exact same thing when he heard the whistle. In the middle of finishing the list of materials for the next delivery, he immediately dropped his pen - it was only the unteenth time he wrote that list, anyway - and looked at the picture on his desk right away. There used to be a time he knew he would see his wife and his daughter at home, and have a pleasant dinner with them. He just wouldn't stop until he got home and finally saw their beautiful faces.

But nowadays it was not the same. Knowing that someone would be missing every single night was very... different. It made the whistle a bit less merry, as if there was something missing from the sound. He sort of envied the workers he was employing, those who still had their wife and their kids to go home to. But it definitely wasn't like he was miserable. Afterall, his wodnerful daughter was still there, and he would definitely enjoy having dinner with her. Even more so since he hadn't seen her all day. With that cheerful thought in mind, the middle aged industrialist exited his office and made his way out of the building.

The moment he stepped home, his butler told him that dinner would be ready within a dozen minutes, and that the table had been set. Already foreseeing that Asami would join later on, Hiroshi simply acknowledged and went into his room with a smile on his face. The scent of delicious food was already spreading throughout the entire Sato estate, which made the man wonder what they were going to eat today.

...Sadly enough, as he was taking his seat at the dinner table, and while the meals were being transported from the kitchen into the dining room, his daughter was nowhere to be seen. It was rather unusual, but he didn't worry about it much. Teenagers were always like that, unpredictable and late. Without a doubt, Hiroshi patiently waited for the cue that would indicate her finally giving in to hunger, such as the door opening with shouts of hunger being yelled by a cute little girl ready to de- oh, wait. She was a big girl now, she didn't do that anymore. Regardless, she would probably be there anytime.

After half an hour, and a well prepared dish starting to turn cold, Hiroshi could out to his butler with slight impatience. His hands apart from his plate while he intended to wait for his daughter, the householderinquired about the reason why Asami hadn't come down for dinner yet... And his eyes widened a little when he heard that she was having dinner outside today.

"I apologize, master. I thought you knew !"

The first thing that came to Hiroshi's mind was total worry. He was afraid that something would happen to his daughter while she was having dinner outside. Although the equalists would know better than to target his daughter, he couldn't really say the same about the benders of the night, cowards as they were. Gangs filled with fear by Amon's message might make stupid mistakes-... That was ridiculous. Nothing like that would happen to his daughter, he knew it. She was too smart for that, and too strong anyway. He did not need to worry, nothing was going to happen to her.

"It's quite alright. I've been so busy that I haven't seen her much lately... Maybe she told me and I forgot about it." He replied with a gentle smile, comforting himself more than his butler with those words. Could he really have forgotten ?... Well, it might be time to stop overthinking things and have dinner anyway. He still had the memory of his wife to keep him company as he ate. It was so yummy.

She was smitten.

Dinner had ended roughly fifteen minutes ago, the time it took to drive between Kuang's Cuisine and her home. The night was cool, but even in her crimson dress, Asami had hardly felt the chill as she walked up the winding steps from the garage to the main house. It was nearly impossible to fight the little extra energy in her step, or the smile that burned her cheeks. It was almost embarrassing, how girlish she felt in that moment, which was why she reserved those small indulgences for when she was alone.

It couldn't be helped, really. Mako was, without a doubt, the best thing she had ever hit with her moped. She had always been impressed by him from a distance, but only as an athlete rather than a person. Now, she admired both aspects of him greatly. His humor, his drive, and his charm had left her completely won over... and the fact that he was easy on the eyes didn't hurt a single bit. The unfortunate truth that the Fire Ferrets wouldn't be able to compete in the tournament without thirty thousand yuans was heartbreaking, but Asami had been mulling over the dilemma for the duration of the drive home. It wasn't fair that they could work so hard and have so much talent, yet be unable to compete just because of financial limitations. As she had told Mako earlier that evening, she had caught all of their matches that season, and Asami felt they had a really strong chance of winning.

By the time she stepped inside the warm house, Asami already had a plan hatched in her mind. She didn't want to fling it at her father right off the bat, but unfortunately time was of the essence in this situation. The Fire Ferrets only had until the end of the week, so hopefully Hiroshi wouldn't take a great deal of convincing. First things first, though; she needed to give her father a kiss hello. Asami was eager to see him for the first time that day. Dinner was normally the earliest opportunity they had to actually spend some time together, and as much as she had enjoyed her evening out, she always missed Hiroshi's company. Seeing him briefly in the morning was never enough for them to really talk or have any meaningful interaction, as he typically was on his way out to the factory or heading into his office to work and Asami often had her own agenda for the day.

Asami had planned on changing out of her dress and getting into clothes more comfortable for lounging about the manor in, but the sound of someone eating in the dining room caught her attention first. With a small frown, she peered through the door frame to the dining room. She was surprised to see Hiroshi still at the table; dinner usually concluded quite a while ago. It must have been a long day. "Hi, Dad," Asami greeted her father with a smile as she approached, then leaned over to plant a kiss on his temple. "How was work today?"

As always, dinner was succulent. The Sato's cook always knew exactly how to prepare just the right meals for the right time of the day. Dinners in particular, everytime Hiroshi sat to grab a bite, all the stress that had piled up all day long, all the troubling thoughts just melted when faced with the delicious taste. Nothing extravagant, simply the kind of cooking that the man needed. It was very satisfying.

He took a sip of water, then set his cup back on the table. The sound was very low, and yet it managed to make some sort of echo inside the empty room. His brown eyes wandered along the dinner table in a slightly confused way. At first they looked for the different kinds of files he's had to handle during the week as his board presented him with different business opportunities. Then they looked back down in front of him, seeing a map of Republic City instead of his plate, and different locations marked where supplies had been either delivered or awaited through that same week.

feeling like the pressure from those days was having a hard time being taken off again, he moved his fingers to his face and tried to massage his closed eyelids. When he opened his eyes again, hiroshi could only see the dish he was almost done with. A sigh escaped his mouth as his body became gradually more relaxed, and his mind let go. When was the last time he had felt that way while eating dinner ?... Maybe it was the fact that he was having dinner on his own, for once. And here he was about to tell himself that it wasn't such a bad thing, that he needed to stop clinging to his daughter.

The door opened slowly, although hiroshi had already decided to focus on the remaining foot in his plate. It's only when Asami greeted him that he lifted his head with a smile that probably equaled hers. "Good evening, sweetie !" He said... only to have his breath almost cut off by the sight of his daughter in the fancy dress. Now, that was something he really did not expect, having assumed she was having dinner with her friends. Had they gone to some sort of ball ?

"Well... let's just say I was a bit overproductive today." He said after she gave him a greeting kiss. "Nothing a good dinner can't fix... You on the other hand seem to have had a good time. So, how was your day ?"
