Name: Han Ye Seul

Age: 28

Appearance: Han is tall and fit, well-muscled but not overly so, a trim hourglass figure. She has bright green eyes and wears her straight black hair cut at the shoulder and framed around the face. She has a pretty face, with inquisitive eyes and defined brows. She is rather pale due to much time spent studying rather than being outside. Han wears trousers that fit close to the hip and looser down the leg, along with form-fitting tunics belted at the waist. She prefers to dress in shades of emerald green and golden brown, and, disliking patterns, she sticks mostly to solids. She wears boots and can often be seen with her hair tied up, bits escaping at random.

History: Han is a native of the Earth Kingdom's city, Ba Sing Se. As a child, both of Han's parents were involved in the underground crime world of the Lower Ring. Always in and out, Han's parents disappeared completely when she was fifteen, leaving her and her older brother to the State of Ba Sing Se. She was passed around from state home to state home, finally staying one whole year with a family by the last name of Koi until she went to the university to study. Those she becomes friends with or knows well often call her 'Hana', a nickname given to her by her older brother. She is not a bender; Han's main skills lie in intellectual pursuit. Han studied crime and psychology — such as they exist at this time — at Ba Sing Se University and is quite intelligent. She has also studied various styles of martial arts, though her use of them has always been more academic than street-worthy. She relishes, in general, any excuse to critique a fighter's strategy.

Han no longer sees her older brother; the two were separated by both his involvement in the crime world and the state system for caring for orphans. Han is disinterested, at best, in finding him. She chose her field of study due to a strong desire to understand her parents and their disappearance, though she has not yet solved this puzzle.

Personality: An atheist, Han is critical towards religion and beliefs in the afterlife or spirit world. She lacks social skills and empathy, and has trouble understanding most jokes and sarcasm. Han also exhibits an inability to identify and explain her own feelings as well as lacking the ability to identify and adjust to others' emotions. Because of her studies, she is good at gaining clues from the body movements of other people — though not, often, from facial expression or speech. This does not, however, mean she is good at relating to people. She does not distinguish between accuracy and truth, nor does she understand motives that are not rational. Han does not hesitate to correct people when they are wrong, nor does she hesitate to point out facts or inaccuracies. Her motherly instincts are surprising when they surface, though she does not express them well.

Han is most likely to do or choose that which is more scientifically ethical than that which is morally or socially ethical. She tends to go through lovers quickly, finding it easy to see men purely for physical purposes or purely for intellectual ones, but quite difficult to find a man who fills both capacities. She is also very even-handed when dealing with people, as her focus on logic and reason dictate that emotion not be involved when making decisions. She does not trust people easily, and hides her vulnerability behind rationality. Han does not get close to people as a general rule.
