A year has passed since Fire Lord Zuko ascended the throne, and it seems like trouble is brewing between the Fire Nation and the Earth Kingdom once more. The Fire Lord and the Avatar began the Harmony Restoration Movement to restore the Fire Nation Colonies to their pre-war state by bringing any Fire Nation nationals back home, but for many of the citizens — of mixed Fire Nation and Earth Kingdom … Read more ›

The sweet little creature in her loving grasp seemed to be only too enthralled and off in his own little happy, orange world as he chewed on her braided hair. She couldn't give him the attention he desired, but the infant didn't seem to mind. The acrobat, instead, devoted all her attention on the princess's story. Her ears listened with rapt attention and beamed with pride towards the young fire-bender. "Well of course he does! It is brilliant, Azula!" The brunette interjected happily, but her eyes grew a touch clouded with worry as she continued to listen. She felt the infant draw nearer to herself almost instinctively as the princess recounted how her father wanted to torture the poor sweet thing. The acrobat was hardly able to catch herself in time as she let out a frightened squeak. Her thoughts were too almost protect the baby, but that would come later, much much later, she assured herself. Time might make them happier by then, she thought. So the teenager pushed those thoughts out of her mind.

The girl with the brown eyes did notice the silence of best of friends, however. The same dingy aura surrounded her, but it seemed to flicker in its own way, the aura perception she had couldn't make it out for some reason. Just the sight of her made Ty Lee want to hug her if it weren't for the baby in her arms. Unfortunately, if there were any truth to the fact that laughter was contagious, surely Mai must be the antidote. So she continued to listen to the one with the sinister icy blue aura. MARRIED?! The mere thought filled even her heart with joy. So many thoughts rushed through her mind. "Married! Oh, Azula!" She exclaimed and began to ramble off. "You'll make such a beautiful bride! Oooo! I can see it now! You in a frilly pink dress and..." she began and a few more ideas stumbled out of her mouth before it occurred to her that the aura the princess gave out was growing redder every moment at the very thought. "Oops. Sorry," whispered the acrobat though she still secretly pictured the future Fire Lord and a faceless man being married.

Talkative as she loved to be, for the moment she thought it best to keep quiet until another opportunity presented itself. Who could have guessed that it would so quickly as well? There was more to the story, good news as well as bad for the princess! Though when she spoke of the water-bender who defeated her, she felt even more intimidated than ever before. The fiery red mixed with the icy blue in an unpleasant way. Her leader was more than serious about winning this time. Mai's humdrum voice filled the air and gave her the opportunity to speak again. "Wow, Azula! You're really fired up! You'll beat him this time! One-two! There's no way he can win this time!" She said confidently with a giggle that reflected her excitement only too well. Then the caretaker temporarily turned her attention back to the baby who declared his desire for attention and received it as she used the braided hair to tickle at his stomach. "Right, Nikuro? No big, bad water-bender can beat your auntie!"

Azula didn’t need Ty Lee to tell her that her original plan was brilliant, but it was. Her father, however, didn’t quite see eye to eye. She understood why he didn’t want Nikuro to be Fire Lord after the Princess. The Firebender didn’t see why marriage was necessary for her, but evidentially her father disagreed. It wasn’t as if the young woman didn’t understand – she did. She blamed Lakano for distracting her. After all, both of his parents were traitors, why should he be any different. This way, her child would take the throne. Nikuro would be the black sheep of the family, a constant reminder of her older brother, the traitor and banished prince. Amber glanced down at the ‘bundle of joy’ in her acrobatic friends arms. The idea of marriage and a family was foreign to her. The young woman knew the mechanics of… how babies were made, of course, but the idea of actually doing that… it was a strange concept to her. Pushing it out of her mind, the Princess didn’t want to think about that.

Azula was still somewhat annoyed at her father for just telling her that he was going to arrange a marriage for her. She was not Zuko, and the young woman did not appreciate being treated as such. The Firebender had made one mistake – one mistake. Technically, two, but she wasn’t going to count her original plan with the baby as a mistake. It would have worked just fine. She and her father could have made sure that he despised his parents to the point where Nikuro would never have made the same mistake. That way, she wouldn’t have to worry about getting married or having children. The Firebender could concentrate on more important things, like maintaining her perfection, becoming the future ruler of not only the Fire Nation, but also the world… What else could be more important? Evidentially, Ty Lee thought the idea of marriage was wonderful and judging by how much she seemed to adore Nikuro, the idea of children didn’t seem to bother her much, either. Nothing frightened the Princess, but she wasn’t too fond of the idea herself.

Power, that’s what was important. No matter what happened, Azula would make sure that the throne was hers. Zuko wasn’t fit for it. He was too weak and too emotional. How could he possibly do justice to the job? No, she was perfect for it. Her father thought, so, too, thought that brought up another chain of thought. The Fire Lord had threatened her, just as he had her failure of a brother. The banished prince had a history of failure. She had done it once! It wasn’t as if the young woman was denying that she had failed. It angered and enraged her that Shakhran had been telling the truth. It hadn’t seemed possible that one man could be that powerful, but he was. That was the only reason why Lakano had beaten her – pure power. The Waterbender had overwhelmed her, leaving her unable to fight back. He had used his large waves to smack her down continuously, and she had been helpless to stop. Well, that would not happen again. He would not be able to stand in a river this time. There was a large lake to the East of the Palace, but she would make sure that he wasn’t anywhere near that.

Azula was glad when Ty Lee stopped babbling, though she was, of course, glad for every compliment the acrobat gave her. “I don’t think a frilly pink dress is right for me,” the Princess said, a slight warning tone in her voice, due to the annoyance of that suggestion even being brought up. “Don’t you agree, Ty Lee?” Really, did she seem like a ‘frilly’ kind of girl? No, of course not, because she wasn’t. She was powerful, and strong. The Firebender was a fighter, a warrior… The young woman had never considered the idea of being in a relationship. It had never occurred to her. While other girls were busy flirting and dating, she was training, working, striving for perfection. She was pleased when her acrobatic friend turned the conversation back to Lakano and something much easier to concentrate on than her impending engagement to someone she didn’t eve know yet. The Firebender knew she would beat the Waterbender, but she did appreciate Ty Lee’s words. It wasn’t necessary, but everyone appreciated flattery, did they not? “Of course I’ll beat him. He got lucky once. It won’t happen again.”

Azula turned to Mai. “Yes, at least that’s one good thing that came out of all this,” she told her stoic friend. She had seen a small smirk cross the markswoman’s lips at the idea of her being married. The Princess kept her face passive, but she was mentally wondering could be going through her mind. What was she imaging? She supposed the idea was amusing. “He’s not going to have a river this time, and I can make sure he’s not hear that lake, either.” The scene was forming in her mind. Yes, this time she would beat him, no doubt about that. Failure was not an option for the young Master, only winning. The young woman would not accept defeat, not again. She would make sure that Lakano was beaten, and that he could never think of defeating her ever again. He would pay for doing it the first time, as well. Amber eyes noticed her stoic friend glaring at Nikuro. The Princess became more sure as time went out that her friend’s hatred for the baby stemmed for hidden feelings for Zuko. That was the only explanation, but the Princess stopped thinking about it, filing it away for future notice.

It giggled and squirmed as Ty Lee waved the end of her braid across his stomach. Odd, how its happiness sounded just like Tom-Tom's. Did all babies really sound the same? The young woman hadn't been around enough to know, and it probably was useless to think about. Ty Lee seemed to adore the baby and that made one of them. For once, Mai wished her brother were here instead. He cooed incessantly, grinned his big joyful toothless grin almost every second of the day and crawled into anything and everything he could get to if not watched like a hawk, but he was a million times better.

Would her parents someday do the same to him they did to her? Train him to avoid attachment, remain silent, falsely polite, a perfect little doll of a child as she had been told to be? For his sake, she hoped not. There was a tiny voice that said even if they did, she wouldn't let it affect him like it did her. She would be there for him. That probably wasn't true. Most likely they would be in different places with different lives by the time their parents started in on him. And besides, just because they were related didn't mean she owed it to him...still...he was her brother...

Mai blinked, pushing the thoughts away. It was idle musings that were neither here nor there. Tom-Tom was back in New Ozai with her parents and the baby was here. Wishing it were different wouldn't make it so, and with her bubbly friend being so fond of it, Mai supposed she'd need to become used to...him...being around.

Hmph. This was going to take some time.

With a quick flick of her wrist, one of the thin razors sheathed up her sleeve slid down into her fingerless gloved hand. Mai twirled it over and under from one finder to another in her right hand, watching the pattern with zen-like attention. It made her feel better. It made her feel herself.

"So, what kind of practice do you want to work on before your rematch, Azula?" asked Mai, her eyes still following the looping of the silver flash between her fingers. "I can work on more precise marks that could help disable a bender, if necessary. You know how it is, no movement, no bending."

Practice was a good idea, something engaging to pass the time, to continue to perfect aim and techniques. Plus, there was the added bonus that the baby probably wouldn't be there until they were done. Not unless Ty Lee wanted to drag the baby every single step they took. That sounded like something she'd want to do, but at the same time...no, the acrobat took her abilities and training pretty seriously. That was one thing the three of them had in common; they didn't settle for less than the best in themselves. Ty Lee had fun with her practice and showed it, but that outward enthusiasm was draped over an inner commitment to her craft. The Princess, well, anything less than perfection wasn't in her vocabulary and this single mistake would drive her to work twice as hard to ensure it wasn't repeated. It made them who they were, and in a way tightened their bond as friends.

The image of Azula in a frilly pink dress popped into the teenager's mind, floating in like some sort of puffy delayed cloud. Just like the Princess getting married, the image itself was fuzzy, a sort of impossible combination to put together. There were better uses for something silly like that...Mai smirked. "Ty Lee, why don't you put that frilly pink dress to good use on a target dummy? It'd be better than wearing it."

It continued to remain a delightful day. In fact, it seemed to the girl to be getting better by the moment! The thoughts of marriage and even the eventuality of children that would surely follow was enough to lift her already high spirits even further. Needless to say, even though she was raised by terrible parents and in the midst of those six, untalented, bratty monsters. Wearing the same clothes, same short hair, even similar names! It was more than anyone could bare. If she hadn't met her friends she would have gone insane long ago. Still, however, the cheerful acrobat retained her cheerfulness and remained the one and only Ty Lee. The baby within her grasp was so adorable and just promoted that longing she felt! The under-aged girl simply and truly desired to have one or two or even five of her own one day when the war had been won and Azula wouldn't need to force her to use her talents, which were extremely considerable.

Fantasy would have to wait as the gymnast was snapped out of her daydreams of marriage and children by the friends whom she treasured. If not also feared in one of the cases. "Hmm..." pondered the bubbly angel to herself. The warning tone that drifted from the lips of the icy blue Princess made her rethink her words from before, though she had already apologized. However, slight it must have seemed. "Well, I suppose you're right, Azula. Frilly and pink doesn't suit you very much," corrected the out-of-place circus performer. The bright, brown eyes that seemed to shine then shot to her stoic friend and began to picture her in a frilly pink dress and she giggled in a soft yet happy tone. As such, the small baby in her arms mimicked. The infant must have read her mind as the acrobat saw the assassin like girl in said pink dress.

The topic jumped once more and back into the upcoming rematch with the water-bender. The battle ready teenager remembered that epic battle well. It was large and full of too many people, that's what she thought at least. Too many skilled warriors and benders, including the Avatar. It was fun still, however, despite or perhaps even because of the chaos. The mind of the teenage girl recalled happily her dance with the cute water tribe boy. Even if she did have to beat him. It was still a joy seeing him again and she wondered what he was doing right this moment. The acrobat's mind dwelled on this so much, in fact, she almost missed what Azula said, but still caught the majority of the words. A bright smile beamed towards her. "Ohhh! That's right! You're so smart, Azula! He can't bend without water! He's not gonna stand a chance against you!" Boasted the friend of the Princess. Though that wasn't all of it. Mai had already had opinions on what to do. The depressing girl proved her own brilliance as well. Her skill with weapons were nearly unrivaled and when she fought, Ty Lee was in awe of her precision. "Oooo! That's a good idea too, Mai! We all should train! Not that he'd have much of a chance anyways!" She giggled and turned her attention for the moment back to the baby, who had taken up once more to chew on her hair. How adorable was that?! She nuzzled her own incredibly cute nose against his small nose.

Then the other words from the girl with a constant frown came to light. That couldn't be what she said though. Such a pretty dress as she imagined being desecrated in such a way. It seemed almost a blasphemous statement in her mind. "What??" Questioned Ty Lee with a near tone of shock playing about her voice and her eyes wide open. It obviously seemed a terrible idea to her. Ty Lee was the one who cared about her looks more than any of the other three, but very soon regained her composure and beamed happily. "Can't I keep it instead?"

OOC: I mentioned Makino and Ozai talking together in this post, though Kanea hasn’t made that post yet because they would be, and she will.

Azula’s thoughts had quickly gone back to thinking about him again. She hated that could throw his name out so easily. What were names to her? She was the Princess, she was perfection… the dark-haired young woman did not lose. No, he had taken care of that, hadn’t he? Lakano had simply overwhelmed her because she had been foolish enough to think Shakhran was exaggerating. It just hadn’t seemed possible, but the Waterbender had overwhelmed her – her. If the Princess didn’t that scum, she would never let herself live it down. The young woman was not normally afraid of her father, but she did not want to see his wrath. The Firebender knew she would face it if she did not defeat the Waterbender this time. She was perfection, not failure. Her brother was failure, and she would not take even one stop in his direction.

Azula turned to Mai, bringing herself out of her reverie. “Yes, that would be good,” she told her stoic friend. “You and Ty Lee, along with some soldiers, will be taking care of the rest of his friends.” The Princess would take care of Lakano alone. Everyone else would disable his friends. In her mind, everything went perfectly. The Firebender defeated that Waterbending scum; the soldiers helped her two friends defeat his friends. With the Avatar most likely dead, that was the end of the major Resistance against her and her father. It had to work like that, because she would not lose, not again. The Princess had not failed before, and she wouldn’t start now. Lakano would pay for beating her the first time. Without a river or a lake nearby, the Waterbender would be helpless to stop her. As she had said before, there was a lake outside the walls of the Palace, but he wouldn’t be near enough to it to use it.

Azula gave a smirk at Mai’s statement about using the dress on a target dummy. That was a good point. Something like that would be much better suited on a dummy than on her – or anyone else for that matter. Of course, Ty Lee wanted to keep it. The Princess waved a hand, indicating that she did not care if the acrobat kept the stupid thing or not. “If you really want to, go ahead,” The Firebender said. “It doesn’t matter to me.” The young woman liked the praise that Ty Lee gave her. The other girl had a good idea, too. They should all train. That way, there would be no doubt as to who would be the victors in the battle that would eventually come. “Yes, we should all train, though if you’re going to join Mai and me, you have to give up the baby, Ty Lee. Give it to the wet nurse, that’s her job.” With that, the young woman turned way, knowing that Mai would follow and Ty Lee would catch up.

Azula walked past her father’s throne room, passing a man on the way. She heard voices of two men coming from inside. One was obviously that of the Fire Lord, her father. The other was familiar, but she hadn’t heard it years, so it escaped. Yes, that’s right; it was the voice of Karena’s father, the nobleman Makino. Why would he be talking to him? Zuko’s fiancée had been an only child. The Princess supposed it was possible that he had a brother who might have a son around her age. It made sense for her father to go the nobleman first, she supposed. The Fire Lord had no real friends, but he had had called Makino a friend on more than one occasion. The two had known each other most of their lives. The amber-eyed young woman was still not happy at the situation. What if she was paired with a man that thought he had to run things? Heh, well, he’d get a wake up call that was for sure.
Azula walked right past the room, only pausing long enough to discern who the voices were. With that, she continued to walk down the hallway. Turning a couple of turns, she centered a large door. Walking inside, she came upon a rather large room, plainly decorated, except for a few practice dummies. This wasn’t where she usually trained, but it was a handy room when the Princess didn’t feel like training with Lo and Li. It wasn’t that she didn’t appreciate all the time they put into her, but the young woman wanted some time to herself right now. The Firebender had a lot to think about. Actually, the only things she was thinking about was Lakano and her future fiancé. How could things have gone so wrong so quickly? Everything had been so perfect. Now it was all standing on the edge of a knife. One wrong move and it would all go the wrong way.

Azula began to go through the motions, leaving off the Lightning for now.

Just hearing Zhai-Li giggle made Makino smile warmly at her. It was always good to hear her laugh; it made him think for a moment that everything might be the way it used to be. No matter how he wished that his life was in fact a living nightmare that he could not wake up from. But no what had happened was real, and seeing a young man in his home was another fun little kick from reality to drive everything home. It had happened at last, he had brought his work home with him. But he forced himself to push these thoughts out of his head as he headed to their bedroom and changed quickly for lunch with the Fire Lord. He left the house but not before he gave the other part of him a kiss on the cheek.

As he walked as quickly as he tried his best not to think about what could happen, and if he saw for himself that the child was indeed his own grandchild. It did no good to have himself worked up so he forced himself to relax as he walked up to the palace, the home of a mad man. The guards gave him a nod as he passed them; they knew who he was here to see at least that made getting in easy for him. At last he made it to the Fire Lords personal rooms; he knew that they would not be over heard by anyone while they were inside. He knew that he was expected but still he knocked on the closed door, and waited until he heard a voice that should strike fear in the hearts of many. He opened the door letting himself in. There seated at a round table was the man that could and would end his life if he had any idea what he was truly up to.

Makino had to work to keep the look on his face pleasant while looking at the man that he wanted to kill as slowly and as painfully as possible. It was a hard task to do as he forced himself to bow down to his waist, but of course due to his knee it was very hard for him to go down to his knees. The power hungry fiend in front of him knew it as well as he did, this was just like a power play a game that he must go by the rules. It was like playing a board game; every move must be made before they were able to get to the heart of the matter.

“Please forgive me, my Lord for not going down to the ground. The years have been a little hard on my knee.” Makino told the man that was hardly older then himself, but that was his lot in life and he would not complain. But looking at the man that was born for a greater purpose then himself, to lead the people that were entrusted to him to rule and lead to greatness. But instead was bent to turning the world to an age of darkness that he would be the sole ruler of all. It made him sick to just be in the presence of such a person. But of course he had to remind himself that the twisted soul in front of him had not always been this way. They had once been friends, and he knew that once there was goodness in Ozai but that was a long time ago. Now he saw his lost friend’s true face, and wished that he could have turned a blind eye yet he could and would not.

He sat down at his Lord’s request, and they had a light lunch. After it was done it was time to get to the matter at hand. He listened as it was explained to him that the Fire Lord wished to marry off his daughter. And asked if he knew of anyone with a child around her age, a sense of history repeating itself came over him. It seemed too much like when he offered up his only child to the Fire Lord to marry Prince Zuko. That was years ago, and ended badly both of their children were now banished, Zuko for speaking out of turn and his own hot headed Karena for just defending the man that she was to marry.

“Well I do have a younger brother that has a son; Kai Jin is the Princess’s age. If it would please you I could go and talk to my brother on your behalf and have him and the boy come over here to meet with you. So that everything will go smoothly and so you could see for yourself if he is suitable to marry your daughter.” Makino forced himself to say in a pleasant tone, while he felt like screaming at the source of his heartache. But he nodded as the man before him voiced his approval of the idea. He let himself out after he was dismissed and headed over to his brother’s house. Now this will be the hardest part, dealing with a brother that he did not get along with.

Makino went there and talked with his brother, explaining everything. Of course Kai Jin, the groom to be was not thrilled by the whole affair. But of course in the end he had to agree to his father’s wishes, because this would help to restore their family’s honor. But of course the boy would have to go and break things off with his current girlfriend. He did not envy the boy for that, but it had to be done. When the Fire Lord wanted something done you did not ask questions.

It was a relief when he was able to go home and relax. But first he quickly recounted what had happened between him and the Fire Lord to his wife and their young guest. He would be mindful to what they said on the matter. Who knows maybe he missed something that was important? To him it was a good idea to make sure that others took a look so that there would be nothing that he missed.

The great and powerful Fire Lord had to wait while lunch was prepared and set up in his personal quarters for his lunch meeting with his life long friend, Makino. It has been a while from the last time that they had gotten together. Thoughts of the last time that they had the conversation that was the point of the meeting for today washed though his mind. It seemed like hours before everything was ready and there was a knock at the door.

“Enter.” He simply said, his voice was one that made lesser men tremble in their shoes. He was the man that was born to lead his nation to greatness. And his friend was going to help him with a little problem that he had on his hands. They exchanged pleasantries and ate a nice lunch with little talk while they were eating. But when it was done and the servants had cleared away the dishes and what they had not been able to eat, they were dismissed. “Makino I called you here so that we may speak of a matter that has been on my mind for some time. My daughter is coming of age and it is time to arrange a marriage for her. She is to become Fire Lord one day, and it would be beneficial if she was married to ensure an heir.”

It did not take long for them to figure out a solution to the problem, he was going to have his daughter marry the nephew of his friend. Hopefully this time things would not blow up in his face, if so then he had a back up plan as always. It was not long before Makino was given permission to leave to talk with the boy’s father. No doubt his parents would be pleased that their son was going to be marrying his daughter, Princess Azula. Now if this did not work out then he had the baby that he would mold into the perfect heir. Accidents happened, no telling if some thing horrible could befall her before she is able to have a child.

Ozai was some what eager to meet with this boy that was a candidate to become his son-in-law, if he was not stupid like that girl. No telling what he would do if this was going to turn into another disappointment.

(OOC: As always, thanks for putting up with me. :) Sorry this isn't longer.)

When the Princess began walking, Mai followed, staying silent the entire way. As they passed the throne room, Azula's eyes shifted to the high solid doors and the voices that echoed from the room beyond, but kept her stride all the same. Mai kept in step with her friend. Azula probably figured her father was talking to someone that had a hand in her impending...ugh, marriage. Mai didn't bother to listen close enough to make a word from either of them; what was important was that it did weigh on Azula, even if she didn't admit it. These glances, these subtle words, they spoke volumes about the matter. It wasn't that the Princess was afraid, there was nothing Mai knew of in the world that could do that, but apprehension...maybe? Interest, at least. It was her future, after all, and even in a world made of dull grays, that was still something to show some interest in.

No matter what, Azula would be able to handle it. No doubt there.

After several twists and turns down the dark predominantly crimson and gold festooned hallways, the Princess led them to a large empty room, save for a few wooden dummies lined up at one end of the room. It was possibly the dullest room she'd ever seen in the royal palace, but it didn't matter. There were dummies, and she had a plethora of sharp implements to throw at them. Having that made the room more interesting than its lack of decor.

With a slight flick of her wrist, Mai let a triangular blade slip down her voluminous sleeve into her hand. Her arm disappeared into a blur of maroon, black, and white. A small 'thunk' sound echoed a moment later, and the blade stuck straight into the left-most dummy's right shoulder.

Mai's frowned just a little. She had been aiming for the clavicle.

She fingered the darts in her wrist launcher. If she was going to be going against what was left of the Avatar's group she'd need to have the pinpoint accuracy she was used to having.

Mai smirked. "Are you sure you don't want to put the dress on the dummy, Ty Lee? It'd be the most colorful thing in the room."

The vibrant cinnamon eyes held fixated upon the princess, patiently awaiting her words and they would come soon enough. Victory! The imaginary pink dress that had been created purely out of her vivid imagination was now hers, the beauty of it would conform to her figure. It was truly a good day and the anticipation of waiting for the upcoming day began to build up within her body. "Ohh! Thank you, Azula!" Ty Lee chirped cheerfully. But that was when much more un-enchanting news reached her ears, naturally the subject of training had been brought up, but now the baby really did have to leave her side, it wasn't a very pleasant thought as her eyes narrowed down on the baby sadly. "Aww! I guess," she murmured softly to the others as her tanned cheek nuzzled against his own.

This wasn't the time to be emotional as sad as that fact was, and before her mind could even comprehend being separated from the oh-so-cute and adorable baby, Azula had already begun her march and Mai followed in step. It looked as if there was else to do but to keep up. One corner around the palace looked suspiciously like the next at this moment in time and soon the woman deemed 'wet-nurse' was there ahead of them and appear to be only sight bored without her royal charge. A deep sigh filled the acrobat's lungs as the decision weighed heavily upon her slim shoulders as she marched forth in the least bouncy way possible. "Well, time to go bye-bye little Nikuro!" Said the girl in bubbly tone before turning to the wet nurse. "Now make sure to take gooooddd care of him! And don't forget he only likes..." and from there the young woman went into a rather short, but detailed of how to take care of the baby as if the wet-nurse was only that by name. "Okay then! Bye-bye!" Giggled the acrobat as her hand waved back and forth in a quick motion, just before she did a back flip backwards and somersaulted back in line with the rest.

"Poor little Nikuro! All alone with that woman! I hope he's not too lonely," complained the girl as she began to walk in step with the rest. Soon, however, during that seemingly long time spent relinquishing the little tyke, the three had past the doors of grandeur that had always impressed her. The ornate doors to the throne room. This time when the teenager passed it, she could hear men talking rather loudly. One of the voices could easily be recognized as the Fire Lord himself, curiosity caused her inquisitive mind to wonder on whom the other man could be, but that information would have to come later. Her acute sense of hearing couldn't pick up enough of the other's voice before the room was well out of listening distance.

And so the trio of friends went on their merry way and, unfortunately, the three entered what had to be the most boring room the castle could possible offer. It seemed to almost blend in perfectly with Mai and her dull grayness, but it wasn't appealing at all to the gymnast. "Aw! Here again? This place is so boring!" whined the girl once more, this was obviously not the first time she had been forced to train, though it was a room they rarely came into. Lined up with the usual assortment of training dummies and even some that were specially designed for Ty Lee, herself. Ones that were anatomically correct with writing and pictures all over describing the pressure points and major organs. Even some minor. Azula wasted no time with her fire bending and Mai got right to their work, Mai even missed! A rare occurrence as her aura glowed red for a moment. But then she uttered something almost despicable! "What?! Noooooo! That's an awful thing to even think, Mai!"

Of course, the truth was, the pink aura'd gymnast was planning on wearing that pretty dress to Azula's engagement party herself. Spending so much time with Nikuro had forcedher to start thinking of her own future plans on marriage and how wonderful it would be. Ty Lee seemed to sparkle just thinking about this, but all the others training brought the circus performer back to reality and out of the dream world that seemed so perfect. Oh well. Time to get down to business. Her legs went into the air as her hands went down on the ground and the girl found a cycle as she went towards the nearest dummy that was designed for her. Upright she stood and her small hands went into a shape of a strange mouth that would be used for shadow puppet shows. Blow after blow was rained down upon the nearby dummies. Accuracy was the key to chi blocking and if it wasn't hit in exactly the right place it could go wrong. Even encouraging the flow of chi in the enemy and making their bending stronger. But that was what practice was for and so her cinnamon eyes kept a close watch on her movements. It was so boring. Things like this need to be practiced on a living human, after all. But for now her lips were sealed.
